answered Pokémon Black and White - Changing TMs and HMs
Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
The CF 00 value on offset 0x00050350 turned out to be the Swagger TM (which is TM87). If you search for Swagger in the official list of moves, you can see that Swagger is move 207 - which is 00CF in hex. ''Reverse'' it to bytes and it will give you CF 00 (just like how, for example, 1BF would give BF 01). Now, I replaced this ''CF 00'' with ''27 02'' as a random number and it turned out to be the move Blue Flare, which is correct, because according to the official list, it is move number 551 (and 551 in hex is 227). Right before ''CF 00'' it gives the hex code ''BF 01'', calculate it do decimals and it will give 444. The official list says it is Grass Knot and again, that's correct, because Grass Knot is TM86, the TM before TM Swagger. However, it should be noted that the lay-out of the hex data is very odd, as some TMs have random bits inbetween their code (for example, TM Pluck has hex data 6D 01, however it shows as 6D 00 2A 01 or something like that), though changing the corresponding hex data actually affects the TM and changes it. It completely works, I even tried teaching the new TM to my Pokémon and it actually taught them the move Blue Flare. Yes. For example, TM Swagger is a Normal-type move, so the CD-sprite (TMs are CDs) is white, blank. Now, I randomly changed the TM to Blue Flare, which is a Fire-type move. However, the CD was still white colored, so you should manually change TM87's sprite to a red CD. Which, I think, is only a matter of copying a certain item icon and replace the original white icon without actually editing it. -

Bump, so I finally found out how to edit the TMs and I would like to share it with you all. In the Pokémon White Rom (.nds file), it can be found by using a hex editor programme around offset 0x00050350. It for example contains the hex ''CF 00'' on that line, which I edited to another random hex data and the TM actually changed to Blue Flare. You do have to edit the TM's ''CD'' item sprite yourself though, as well as the bag text data of the TM's effect. And of course, you'll have to change the TM learnset of each Pokémon individually. Anyway, even though it will cost a lot of time to edit the TMs, think it's quite a cool just to know how to do it. -
Which Pokémon Black & White narc file actually contains the scripts? I tried searching for complete B&W narc lists but none of them appeared to point out the narc that contains the actual scripts.

When you're spotted by another Trainer, you hear a certain kind of music. For example, when an Ace Trainer or Veteran Trainer has spotted you, this music's being played: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ4HsOAZwho And when you are about to battle a Psychic, you hear this strange music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTFbRZT-HCs The encounter music is determined by the Trainer Class you are about to battle. If you are about to battle a Psychic with an Ace Trainer's overworld sprite, you still hear the Psychic's encounter music. tl;dr Is there a way to edit the encounter music and assign a different encounter music to a certain Trainer Class? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Additional information For example, I am going to add the Aroma Lady Trainer Class in my hack. Therefore, I am replacing an old Trainer Class, the Baker. But I want a different encounter music because I find the ''Parasol Lady'' music better for the Aroma Lady: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac1JCG7vsAI In other words, can I assign the Parasol Lady encounter music to the Baker's Trainer Class?

Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
Hello everybody, Pokémon White Deluxe beta 0.8 has just been released! Please check out the first post for more information and a download link. @Pokecupra, yes, however you can reach Route 10 in the newest beta so don't worry! However, the Victory Road and Elite Four is not yet available, but they will be soon! Nice team, btw! -
This hack will never be finished, because the hack contains several bugs and errors (due to an unstable scripting editor I was using), which I cannot possibly fix.

Thank you very much! These are the correct fossils to be found. Well, for example in Pokémon D/P/P, I remember it was very easy to EV-train in the HP Stat because Route 201 held many, many Bidoof - which give out 1 HP EV-point everytime you defeat one. However, while holding a Power Weight, you obtain 5 HP EV-Points each time; in combination with PokéRus, it means that you obtain about 10 HP EV-Points everytime you defeat a single Bidoof! If you need 250 EV-points, that means you only have to defeat 25 Bidoof - not THAT much. However, there's not such a Route in Pokémon Black & White (Deluxe), that's why I said I'll try to add certain ''EV-Training'' Routes post-E4. I think that's cool for some people who might want/need it. Anyway, I would love to hear some more feedback! No. They are not the Champion(s) in this game. It's not even possible to script a ''Double Battle'' Champion battle, so it will be a single battle anyway. I already have the Champion + E4 Members ready. -

Lol, what actually is ''vanilla''? I heard more people talk about it. Is it a hack or just another reference for the normal (unhacked) games? Anyway yes, I think I will indeed lower Brock's Pokémon's levels by one, because I tested with Servine + Marshtomp, that's why I made his Pokémon's levels so high.. So imagine that his levels are all 1 lower. It will be easier to defeat him, then - do you think it will be better that way, regarding the upcoming Trainers in Pinwheel Forest? Thanks a lot for this feedback! I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but the next patch will probably be out somewhere in February. I hope you can still find something to do in the game. However, I assure you that the next patch has the complete storyline finished, which means you can enter Route 10 and catch Pokémon / battle Trainers there, you can battle (and defeat!) the Opelucid Gym Leader and, last but not least, enter the Victory Road and beat the Elite Four! I think that's something to look forward to! About your Pokémon team; how did you evolve your Kingdra and Porygon-Z - or are you maybe playing since the first-ever patch? Because in this game, the Dragon Scale and Dubious Disc can't be found before the Icirrus Gym (which I did to maintain the difficulty). -

Do you think the second Gym Leader is too difficult? Is he harder than the first Gym Leader(s)? I actually think that many people have a lot of trouble with Brock. Maybe because I tested it with a Servine and a Marshtomp, who both hit Brock's Pokémon extra hard.. I'm thinking about lowering Brock's levels by one. After you have defeated Brock, could you tell me what you think? For example, will the game remain ''in synergy'' with the Trainers in Pinwheel Forest? (By that, I mean: do the new Trainer's levels nicely connect?) I actually think that you're overleveled after you have defeated Brock. I'm sorry, my native language is not English so it was kind of difficult for me to explain this, lol. In Castelia City (where the 3th Gym is), you can get either a Leaf, Fire or Water Stone from a scientist (?) on the docks. So, just choose to obtain a Water Stone and you'll have a Poliwrath right before the third Gym! -

Eevee are rare Pokémon that live in shaking grass patches. However, shaking grass patches only appear after you have obtained the first Gym Badge. About the first Gym - their Pokémon are different everytime, it depends on the Starter you chose. That's the reason why they don't have the elemental monkeys anymore, I like how they have other Pokémon each time. =) It's so cool to read your stories! Thanks a lot for your time, it's awesome. I'm glad that you like the game so far and I can't wait to hear more from you soon! You can ask me anything if needed (though I try not to spoil anything). -

Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
Oh, it's not a problem at all! I love all your feedback, really! If you want to post more, you can always visit the official Pokémon Black & White Deluxe site, including forums. Anyway, about your progress - many Trainers find the first Gym to be the most difficult, or that's what I hear. You know, I made them this hard because I wanted Trainers to get used to the difficulty. If you really have trouble with the first Gym, you should try evolving one of your Pokémon, it makes A LOT of difference. I also love to see how you DON'T have a Starly / Staravia on your team, almost ANY other Trainer seems to have one, lol. I feel bad for all the Pidgey / Taillow / Pidove around. Keep up the amazing feedback!! Hmm you're right, the readme only mentions that the ROM should be ''non-patched''. Which kind of feels the same to me. The readme for beta version 0.8 will have the word ''untrimmed'' added. Alright. Once you have your acekard2i, keep me updated! I actually didn't take the Pokémon's EV-points into account.. So can you actually EV-train in this game or does it take ages? Which Route(s) do you specifically like to train for Attack EV's? I've planned to create several ''EV-training'' locations on post-E4-Routes, for example somewhere between Route 11 to Route 15. A nice location to train for HP, a cool location to train Attack EV's, and so on.. I'm not going to spoil them, though, I just want people to find out. -

Thank you! So you're about to enter Twist Mountain, right? Please tell me if some Trainers are too hard, or too easy, or if you find Pokémon that you don't like, etc. Or, tell me about the development of your team! Any feedback is very much appreciated! Yeah, the patches were removed due to ''copyright'' issues but I'm not very sure why that is. It's a patch after all and patches are, as far as I know, legal. However, I use a patching method that increases the size of the patch (it's about ~100 MB big), but the other patching method doesn't seem to work for me. Anyway, I hope mediafire and megaupload keep the files for now, or else I'll have to search for other hosting sites / patching methods. Thanks a lot for the compliments! While playing, don't hesitate to give me feedback! Eevee is a rare Pokémon that can be found on the very first Routes. I considered it a ''starter'' Pokémon, with a difference though that it can be found in the wild. I wanted to make it available as early as possible because I think many people like to add Eevee to their team due to its plethora of evolution possibilities. I've already noted that explicitly in the readme. Thank you very much! Could you please give me some more feedback? Tell me about your team! Tell me about the way you defeat Gym Leaders! It would be amazing, I appreciate any feedback. Alright, but Eevee's evolutions are a lot stronger. You can tactically evolve Eevee into a type that your team lacks - a Glaceon, Leafeon or Espeon for example. I also find that your Pokémon are at a high level (65-66) while you were fighting Brycen - looks like you train your Pokémon a lot, as my Pokémon were only on level 61-62 when I defeated Brycen. Do you train on wild Pokémon? Please keep me updated like you did, I love to hear about your progress. -

Alder Overworld Sprite - Using ''Fly''
Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS Discussion & Help
Damn, is that so?.. I hope somebody finds the sprite in the game data soon. -
I can't seem to find the Alder (Champion) Overworld Sprite when he uses Fly in Pokémon White. Does somebody know where I can find it? Is it actually contained in the overworld sprites narc file?

black / white Pokémon Black & White Deluxe [v1 released]
Oxnite replied to Oxnite's topic in ROM - NDS ROM Hacks
You should get a new, unpatched, untrimmed Pokémon White Rom (European). Then, patch that rom. After that, make sure that the old save file matches the newly patched rom's title (the titles should be the same). Then, use the patched rom file. The old patched rom can be removed. -
Yeah, the ''completion clause'' doesn't really apply anymore because this thread contains more completed hacks, for example Pokémon Blaze Black & Volt White. I agree that there should be a ''Completed / Finished Hacks'' child forum.
