  • PKHeX is a save editor for core-series Pokémon games. With it, users can manipulate various save files including: .sav, .dsv, .dat, .gci, .raw, and .bin types. PKHeX can also read and write: .pk files, which are individual Pokémon files, and .pgt, .pcd, .pgf, .wc, wcfull, which are Mystery Gift files.

Version 25.10.26 of PKHeX has been released, adding support for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Do not report issues with this release's handling with legality/encounters.

PKHeX now requires the .NET Desktop Runtime 9.0 to run. If you receive an error when trying to run, ensure you have it installed.

Please note that other related applications will still require time to update, and updated versions of plugins or SysBot may not be available immediately.

    Changelog:

    Quote

    25/10/26 - New Update:
     - Added: Support for Legends: Z-A.
     - Legality:
     - - Initial handling for recognizing and generating encounters from Z-A.
     - - Please do not report issues with this release's handling with legality/encounters. We are aware of what still needs work.
     - Notes:
     - - All encounters can be traced back to an RNG seed.
     - - With multiple shiny rolls (wild only) or shinies, this calculation is not instant (>15 seconds), so it is only done for non-shiny 1-rolls.
     - - Do not be lulled into a false sense of safety that PKHeX does not flag your modified Pokémon's PID/IVs.
     - - Cheat codes that modify the RNG generation routine is detectable in the resulting Pokémon, as previously mentioned in Discord.
     - - Ability editing via the GUI has been forced into All-Abilities mode due to GameFreak not updating a Pokémon's ability on evolution.
     - Added: Gen9a: Pokédex and Trainer Info editor are available.
     - Added: Gen9a: Event block editors are available. 64-bit hash => text is not provided at this time.
     - Added: Gen9a: Fashion block editors are available. Fashion-item ID => text is not provided at this time.
     - Added: Bulk (Verify All) checks for issues with the save file, such as mismatched Fused slots or Mega stone inventory state issues.

And well, I'm worried. Never happened before with any other version.

I had a weird problem in PKM Legends ZA. I had a Haunter and i changed it to a Gengar, also changing the OT info to make it legal. When i get ingame, if i send out Gengar, it get stuck in the air, making it unable to walk or even attack anything. Also, the animation for getting in and out a pokeball is missing for some reason.

Does anyone knows how to fix this?

Don't drastically edit party pokemon. Put them in the box to reset their (currently undocumented) extra overworld data.

Complete the task or get within 1 and trigger the game to re-check it (such as changing the Wins record to 999, and winning one more).

This is the first release of PKHeX, a week after the game has come out. Comprehensive edits are not going to be researched and implemented so soon, so you have to do the research/every step yourself as the community figures out how to automate your laziness away.

So uhh... Where are the Delphoxite and Chesnaughtite? I don't see them in the inventory editor. It's the only reason I downloaded pkhex tbh

Those items are not released by GameFreak, so they are not able to be added with the default safeguards in place. Refer to the program settings.

You should know that it's wiping save files for some reason. It's either the program or JKSV being the usual dumpster fire.

EDIT: After testing, I can confirm it is an issue specific to JKSV. Checkpoint loaded the edit perfectly fine. Spent the past three hours using JKSV as I would with previous titles so can confirm it wasn't user error.

So you mean to say that encounters follow the same seed table as the Raid Dens in SwSH and S/V? Then would generating from the encounter table also be flagged?

Good evening, and thank you for the program that this site has provided. I receive this following string of text when using the program for the first time in years:

System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
       at PKHeX.Core.Extensions.GetExtraSlots9a(SAV9ZA sav)
       at PKHeX.Core.Extensions.GetExtraSlots(SaveFile sav, Boolean all)

I may have not read a guide thoroughly enough, and curious what I have done wrong.

Hello, not new to PKHeX but new to the forums side. Forgive me for asking, but I have a few legitimate shiny encounters/catches that are being flagged by the latest release (Z-A). How/where do I go to add/contribute this data?

It worked fine for me when I used JKSV literally 20 mins ago, I changed my held to max and some of the Vitamins, Stat Feathers, Bottle Caps and EXP Candies to 999. I do this as to try not overly changed to much in PKHex and just do it within the confines of the game. Used JKSV and it reloaded fine and is working for me

I downloaded the current version and created some level 100 pokemon for Legends Z-A and set the obedience level to the maximum level pokemon can obey my trainer at the current rank my trainer is at and setting the obedience level did nothing they still won't obey my trainer at level 100 even if I set the obedience level to the level pokemon can currently obey my trainer at the current rank my trainer is at and I even set the trainer options in the pokemon creation area to OT and they still refuse to obey my trainer when they are at level 100 so the pokemon creation tool is definitely not working correctly at all. That option to manually set the obedience level is completely broken and not working at all.

Update 1: I just tested the that obedience level setting under the met section of the Pokemon creation area with multiple levels at level 4, 23, and 25 bc my trainer is currently at rank Y so the maximum level pokemon can obey my trainer is level 25 and my pkhex created pokemon are at level 100 including the pkhex created pokemon I just used for testing purposes and yes I can confirm that obedience level setting under the met section of the pokemon creation area is indeed not working at all.

That's not what that value means.

    • Since they released over a decade ago, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games for the Nintendo DS have not had much in the way of ROM editors. Over the past few years, hackers have slowly learned more and more about the inner workings of the games, culminating in the most advanced PMD editor to date: Sky Temple.

SkyTemple is a user-friendly level editor for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that gives the user full control over graphics, scripts, Pokémon data, and more, enabling a great amount of creative freedom to prospective ROM hackers to create not just edits of the game, but entirely new levels and plots.

See the trailer for the version 1.0.0 release for quick samples of what can be accomplished:
