Ninjaster Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 (edited) Hi, I'm going to use PKHex program first time in my laptop (Window 10), but I'm having these messages so many times as I double click PKHex. Kaphotics Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 >C:\Users\(myusername)\AppData\Local\Temp\BNZ.5d2813982b01e3\PKHeX.exe extract the exe to an actual location before running Also, try deleting all existing configuration files: "C:\Users\(myusername)\AppData\Local\ProjectPokémon", delete all folders that have PKHeX.

First, I don't have 'ProjectPokemon' files at all, so there is nothing to delete. Lastly, I don't have BNZ.5d2813982b01e3 file in my Temp file. To give more information, I download PKHex program on the Internet, and extract file (which have 'PKHeX.Core.dll, PKHeX.exe only) on my desktop. So... yeah, BNZ.5d2813982b01e3 file doesn't exist, and nothing to delete. Is there a way to solve this? P.S.: I have question about 'the actual location'. I'm confused little bit. I extract the PKHeX zip files on my desktop just for convenience... is this related to my problem?
Kaphotics Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 ... download the latest release in the downloads section unzip the file to a chosen location (do not run directly from the zip file)
Ninjaster Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 Tried, but the latest relase version PKHeX doesn't open and it just says as I wrote in first post.

Sabresite Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 Right click PKHex.zip that you downloaded and choose Extract To... Then choose your desktop. Then run PKHex.exe (pokeball icon). Do not confused it with the ZIP file you downloaded.

theSLAYER Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Well it's usually there when people download a new file. If it's not the Unblock, not your anti-virus, and you've extracted it properly, then I've got no clue what the problem could be. @Kaphotics could we just send over the folder with the config file? I'm asking cause I'm not sure if the inner folder name (inside %LocalAppData%\ ProjectPokémon) is computer unique or the same for all users.

The issue is less with "disallowing downloading" (since you already downloaded the files), but more of "restricting folder access and modifying of files". I don't know what anti-virus you have, you gotta check it out yourself.
Sabresite Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 After following my instructions try right clicking and Run as Administrator (shield icon) to open PKHex.exe It is quite possible you don't have proper permissions. For example, is this a work computer controlled by an IT department? Are you on a virtual profile? Is the computer locked down in any way? Do you have elevation permissions (run applications as admin?) Another example, It is common for a work laptop to need to be connected to the work network in order to access your profile from the windows server. If you are not at work then you will not have access to your profile and you will not have any icons on your desktop or be able to create local app data folders and files. 1

I'm a student, not a working man. I put my laptop at my home, in my room... get my home Internet WiFi connected, play game... so there isn't any chance of what you've said. I don't know what are 'virtual profile' and 'computer locked down' means, so neither of them may not be the solutions. Also, of course, this is my personal laptop (usually for playing games), so I do have rights to run applications as admin. I've checked the Windows anti-virus in 'Security' section in control panel, deactivate it, and when I click 'Properties' in PKHeX icon, 'Unblock' button showed up. Even though I click Unblock, the logs keep showing up, so it's no use. I also tried to run PKHeX as Adminstrator, but still the same logs keep popping... If it's missing files that are troubling me, can someone give me the file that has all necessary items with it? If so, there may be a chance that problem will be solved... Sabresite Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 PKHex should generate any files it needs. I don't know why you are having issues, sorry. 1
Ninjaster Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 (edited) Ta-da! Problem solved! The problem was a 'Window Update' in my laptop. Ever since I bought my laptop 6 months ago, I haven't upgraded Windows even once. Which means, I was using old Windows 10 version untill now! So, it was a old Window system that was blocking the PKHeX from running. Immediately, I upgraded my Windows 10 (which took sooooo long because I postponed so many updates untill now on), and extract PKHeX file. As you can see, it perfectly opens now! Thanks for all who helped me so far! Edited July 14, 2019 by Ninjaster 1
