Bblurre Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Hey just wanted to say that editing partner pokemon in lets go does not visually change their appearance in game. Could be a bug.
pkmfan Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Slightly off topic, but a Chansey I caught on Route 6 shows Unable to Match Encounter error. Can try the partner pokemon and see if I get the same issue as the OP. Edited November 17, 2018 by pkmfan

pkmfan Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Read the changelog. Okay so that must be a rare encounter. Is there a way to view a list of original NPC trainers for pokemon given by NPCs? For example alola geodude given by Higeo. I assume Laparas and Hitmonchan need a NPC OT. Read the source code, or find a website that lists the new game's data.

What i meant was, when you edit your partner pokemon's (pikachu or eevee) gender, their appearance does not change in game. For example female pikachus heart shape tail does not change to a male pikachu's lightning bolt shaped tail Edited November 17, 2018 by Bblurre

For example female pikachus heart shape tail does not change to a male pikachu's lightning bolt shaped tail That's probably not saved in the PKM data, it's likely in the save file which gender it is. I don't think anyone has found where that info is stored. The game shouldn't have to dig through the pkm storage to find your starter, then to check the gender. It's likely precomputed and stored for easy reference
Brittany Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Not sure if this helps or not, but the starter's gender is determined upon that initial cutscene before you even input your name. While you can SR for nature or characteristic, the gender is set in stone. If you do a future save, make sure your partner is the desired gender (tail shape for pikachu, tail tip shape for eevee.) before you save the game. Edited November 18, 2018 by Britty fixed link 1
Grax Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Go to SAV -> Block Data -> Block: Status -> StarterGender: 0-male / 1-female.
AshT Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Does anyone else have issues when they create nidorans that they show up in the game as nidoran? instead of with the gender symbol ?
