May I use unreleased items?

I am wanting to give my AshPikachu his Z-Crystal  I know it is an unreleased item, but I am not planning on using it in online activities whatsoever. Can I still use it the game's story/offline? Thanks!

It means that you shouldn't use the "Sync" option

Trading/GTS is fine

Bottom screen, the gray button, second page. Should be the right option on the second row. I hope it's the same as ORAS, but correct me if I'm wrong...

Actually Game-sync is automatic every time you go online, after you do it the first time.

So if you have yet to connect your game to your PGL account, you're fine. (probably)
