NDS-Boy Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 They were used in Generation 4 for Encounters/Eggs or some other stuff. In newer Generations they shouldnt be interesting i guess.

You physically counted them with a hex editor? also, I assume this is gen 7 data file? Also, unused bytes in a set format does not matter. All of the pk7 follows the same template. I guess it'll only be an issue if your Lurantis has extra bytes above other mons..

If you can't prove how your mon "has extra bytes", it makes it sound more like a fantasy and less like an actual phenomenon.
Sabresite Posted June 11, 2020 Posted June 11, 2020 Show screenshots of the data or post the Pokemon.

(I deleted my Lurantis cause i worried that it will broke my save file at that time) Those "Extra Bytes" are part of the pkx structure, so there isn't "additional bytes" on top of the standard file format. Your original statement was a bit misleading; I don't know about the others, but it gave the impression that your file size for pkx was bigger than normal by 17 bytes. Rather, these bytes usage are not known, so "extra" in the sense of "bytes in the standard file format that it is not known if it's used or how they're used".

So,It wont affect your save file or your pokemon?
theSLAYER Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 erm, they may have some unknown used property. Effectively: Only modify stuff that has "extra bytes" if you're sure what you are doing.
Kaphotics Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 For PK7, 0x2A is ResortEventStatus, with a maximum value of 20. It's a poorly documented value, but there isn't really any sense in giving it a control to manipulate it. 1
AlphaComp Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I got a lot of information about Extra Bytes from you guys, To be honest.
