wraith89 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 That sounds awful. Nintendo made a HUGE mistake miking it weak like you said. I dont have that game but i trust you. You... have... NO... idea. He was DESIGNED so that Jigglypuff, Pikachu and PICHU can own him easily. This Mewtwo has been tampered... it's as if he has FIVE SLOW STARTS activated on him and is NOTHING like how he's supposed to be. Not only that, but official "tier list" put him on the bottom of the list... even below PICHU, who was meant to be the joke character (because he hurts himself everytime he uses a special move).
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 ...Awful i have no words. My heart started to hurt. How could Nintendo do this to us?!
wraith89 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 ...Awful i have no words. My heart started to hurt. How could Nintendo do this to us?! And then they take him out and he leaves on a bad note. That is cruelty.
Mewtwo Ex Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 :( But at least it was considered. There were traced in tha game of it's voice and things like that. Nice 375 post - Metang Time and posts apparently fly when you are having fun.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) You can't say it sucks. You do know that these characters are made to fit the way a person plays. If a person knows how to use the Mewtwo, they will beat you easily. Edited May 26, 2009 by FLOOTENKERP
wraith89 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 You can't say it sucks. You o know that these characters are made to fit the way a person plays. If a person knows how to use the Mewtwo, they will beat you easily. It's the learnability curve. Trust me, it's like saying an expert with Magikarp vs a n00b with Arceus.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 The difference here is that every playable character in Smash Bros. is capable of having a good strategy.
wraith89 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 The difference here is that every playable character in Smash Bros. is capable of having a good strategy. Not Mewtwo. I've seen experts with Mewtwo (like Taj), but even in tournaments, these people pick Fox/Falco/Marth/Shiek for a good reason. It's boring to see those 4 characters everywhere, but unfortunately, as much as I play Mewtwo (he's my main), I know he sucks because stupid monkeys from Nintendo thought it'd be great to make everyone's favorite yellow rat so strong and make the awesome uber Mewtwo so... pathetic? Seriously, I really want to know what these people were smoking. Didn't you realize Mewtwo's Down Smash is the ONLY Down Smash that only affects one direction? Or how Confusion is the only DEFLECTOR in the game (not reflector)? And how his Shadow Ball just misses and is easily reflected too much? It's sickening... it's a conspiracy I tell you! But for you Mewtwo fans... This is awesome
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 As you can see in the video, there are people out there that can master Mewtwo's abilities.
wraith89 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Some... but it's not so common. Fox masters and all are VERY common though. Mewtwo is the Magikarp of this game, sadly. I really wish it wasn't the case. And the guy who did this (Taj) plays Fox in the tournaments. Wonder why? It's like playing UU Pokes against a bunch of OUs in Smogon's Shoddy. You WILL die (believe me, I did that so many times it's not even funny... they play for the sake of competition/ladder rankings... I play for the other side... FUN ) >.<
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 But he is still appealing. He's a good character for people who can master him. Personally, I use Mario, and I suck in all Smash Bros. games.
wraith89 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 LOL. I use Luigi sometimes but people say Mario is better. I like Luigi better :-/ My main is Mewtwo in Melee and Zelda in Brawl (because Zelda is like Mewtwo... trust me I KNOW). But I don't own Brawl... I only played it with my roommate a couple of times.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I don't own it either. It's fun, just not as fun as melee.
Varna Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 You've never met my friend. His Mewtwo competes right on par with my Marth game. We've even won a 2v2 tournament against some pretty sick competition. Using wavebirds no less. They instantly dismissed us as no threat when he picked Mewtwo and we had cordless controllers. Haha, oh the looks on their faces... The trick to Mewtwo is not offense, I'll tell you that much.

I would LOVE to see more good Mewtwo players, but I really hate how they designed him. Oh why... oh why did the ultimate Pokemon turn out that way?
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Well Mewtwo needs a pro player to be able to use him... He won't obey weaklings. Back on topic, what do you guys think of Pikachu?
wraith89 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 . . . Even if he doesn't listen to weaklings, what makes you think he WANTS to lose to OTHER weaklings (a certain yellow rat comes into mind)? And I don't like Uberchu. He's too quick and he's a lot heavier than he looks :-/
wraith89 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Ugh. Wall of pain? How did that weak thing become uber in the game all of a sudden? Ever seen her Down + B? Yeah, it's hard to connect with, but apparently, REST is an OHKO move
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Jigglypuff is awesome. It's starting to become one of my favorite Pokémon because of its gameplay. So awesome.
wraith89 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I guess I'll act flootenkerp on you: I hate Jigglypuff
Varna Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Nice, so you and your friend are pros? Not really. Can't be considered pro at melee by anyone unless you abuse all the glitches. We fight fair.
wraith89 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Not really. Can't be considered pro at melee by anyone unless you abuse all the glitches. We fight fair. Even the Final Destination glitch? >.< I hate falling through when I'm not supposed to!
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 That's cool. My friend who is a pro is actually teaching me how to use Mario perfectly. To bad they ruined his Down + B in Brawl. What was wrong with the spin attack?
