Minamimoto Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 My rain dance team needs suggestions. It's for double battles,6 pokemon. I have a: Ludicolo Zapdos Milotic kingda I have two more slots.I wanted a gyarados,so all I need is one more pokemon.Suggestions greatly appreciated!
ReD_RoToM Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 maybe a toxicroak with dry skin and black sludge...?
randomspot555 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Since you don't list move sets, EVs, natures, and IVs, I can only assume that this is for in-game. In which case, anything can beat the E4/Gym/whatever if leveled up enough.
Minamimoto Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 It's for competitive.I only need another pokemon, not movesets or strategies.
Aeternus Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 It kind of helps to know what role each of your Pokemon are playing, so we know what is left to be taken, and can then make a more educated suggestion as to your last choice. ;]
chartreuse_LJC Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Maybe, you try a Lanturn... hehehe... It's both Water- and Electric-type... It would do great with your Rain Dance move... If you are able to hack it... You can even make it's ability "Drizzle" to make it rain infinitely... That should make you Thunder move hit without fail... Hehehe... Plus, because it's also a Water-type Pokémon, you have great advantage because of the rain... Well, I hope I could give greater advices... See yah guys!!!
randomspot555 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 It's for competitive.I only need another pokemon, not movesets or strategies. If you don't explain your sets or strategies, then people can't suggest other Pokemon for your team. Otherwise any recommendation is basically "i say charizard cuz hes teh c00lest!!111!"
pokemonfan Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Drifloon! They are awesome! "Drifloon use shadow ball crush the foe!" said the trainer "Floon!" said Drifloon shooting a ball of ghostly power at the damaged electivire. Drifloon=awesomeness!
Aeternus Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Wow, notthegoatseguy, nice prediction. Still waiting for you to at least tell us what each of your Pokemon do, minamimoto.
Enkidu Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Garchomp. if it's for double battles your gonna want Zapdos + Garchomp as you can fire off discharge and Earthquakes which hit both opposing pokemon , hard. Also the only pokemon to resist both of those types is Gliscor. Ludicolo, Kingdra and Gyrados work well in a rain dance combo to cover each other's weaknesses' However I suggest switcing out Milotic for a Cresselia or something that can support the team and has enough bulk to stall for a decent period of time. While Milotic is bulky, it doesn't do much in the way of team support like cresselia does. And with Gyarados's Intimidate it's no longer pursuit bait! garchomp + zapdos Kingdra + Ludicolo Gyrados + Cresselia I wouldn't send them out in pairs in that order, but I'm confident that it works fairly well.
Paradox Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Garchomp is Uber, Enkidu, so I suggest you do not recommend this Pokémon for standard battle unless you want the TC to get seriously flamed in the future.
Minamimoto Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 Ahhh, sorry guys,I should've posted the roles and EVs for them.^This is for the pokemon VGS,where garchomp is VERY allowed.I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do.Thanks, everyone!
Enkidu Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 @ Paradox This is for 2V2 which do not use Smogon's Tier list. These are the only banned pokemon as far as I know. Banned150 – Mewtwo 151 – Mew 248 – Tyranitar 249 – Lugia 250 – Ho-Oh 251 – Celebi 382 – Kyogre 383 – Groudon 384 – Rayquaza 385 – Jirachi 386 – Deoxys 479 – Rotom 483 – Dialga 484 – Palkia 487 – Giratina 489 – Phione 490 – Manaphy 491 – Darkrai 492 – Shaymin Banned Items Soul Dew Banned Moves Judgment
randomspot555 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 @ Paradox This is for 2V2 which do not use Smogon's Tier list. To be fair, this wasn't mentioned in the first post, and the OP didn't say so until earlier today well after Paradox made his post. It's okay to assume people are going by standard rules when they don't specify.
Destati Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Honestly, I don't know if Garchomp is banned in doubles or not. Either way, He probably won't be that great of an addition.
randomspot555 Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Honestly, I don't know if Garchomp is banned in doubles or not. Either way, He probably won't be that great of an addition. The most popular tiers are Smogons, which as I'm sure you know are test with 6v6 single battles. While we could theorymon all day about various ubers and how they perform in doubles, I think we can at least say it isn't nearly the threat it is in singles. Same goes for Wobbuffet. Especially at the official tournaments, where it's partner Tyranitar is banned, and Hippowdon is rarely used, so it doesn't have a sandstorm buddy. And the Discharge Zapdos strategy is usually seen a mile away.
Torte de Lini Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Metagross and Bronzong. Trick Room with Earthquake from Metagross does not affect Bronzong. Give Bullet Punch to Metagross so even after Trick room, Metagross still gets priority. End with explosion and make sure to have a pokemon that's unaffected by explosion (ghost).
