Utopia Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Do I have to normalize trash bytes for hatched pokèmon?
Gold88 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 No, that's makes the pokemon illegal. The easiest way is to nickname the pokemon and renickname back to its original name at Eterna nickname rater. This will reset the trash bytes (and they'll be corrected) and the pokemon will have the nickname box ticked , but with its base name.

ifyfg Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 but if you level it up it would not change it's name would it?
Orcamania5 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 but if you level it up it would not change it's name would it? I don't know if the pokemon is going to change its nickname when it evolves because I never nicknamed my pokemons. If it doesn't there would be a staraptor nicknamed as 'Starly'. The names of the pokemon that has not been nicknamed changes when it evolves. So I think the change in name by an evolution might be able to reset the trash bytes.
ifyfg Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 when i had pokemon red for gb, i nicknamed a spearow i caught to 'Spear', and when it evolved into fearow, it still had the nicknamed, after that i have never nicknamed any pokemon.
