~Well Haii Thar!~

Ever wanted to get some free awesome Pokemon?

You've come to the right place!

Introducing... The Global Terminal!

Basically, instead of me having to engage in a trade with you to receive the Pokemon, in which we both have to be on at the same time, I can now send you Pokemon, ANYTIME! (And I don't have to be on!)

Before you embark on your journey into The Global Terminal, PLEASE, PLEASE, and for the third time, PLEASE, read all the information data to avoid any mistakes or errors.

~How to Connect~

The step by step guide of success!

^^ YouTube Guide ^^

Here's where things get a little technical.

To be able to connect to me, you need to:-

1. Have connected to the in-game Global Trade Station before (just for the knowledge of how to use it).

2. Make sure you have a working connection, then visit your game's title menu (the one with the continue button).

3. Now click “Nintendo WFC Settings”, and then the nice blue button on the left.

4. Then, click “Ready” on the connection you use to connect to the internet from your DS normally.

5. This brings up the “Edit Settings” page for that connection. Scroll down, and change “Auto-obtain DNS” to “No”.

6. Your Primary DNS and Secondary DNS are now editable. Edit them to the values shown below (they're the same).

7. Do a connection test by pressing “Test Connection” at the top right. It should give you a “Connection Successful”.

8. Save the settings (remember to press the button), and go into your game.

9. Enter into the GTS as normal.

10. You should then be connected to The Global Terminal instead of the original Nintendo GTS.

Once you're done with whatever you need to do, simply go out, change “Auto-obtain DNS” to Yes, and save. Your connection should then be back to normal.

Note: Newer games will require you to edit Internet Settings from the System Menu instead (for DSi/3DS). Please view the YouTube tutorial for those instead.

SV3.pngSV4.png

Hmm... Easy, huh! Anyways, once you establish a connection to The Global Terminal, then what you do next depends on which service you want.

Below are the DNS Settings for The Global Terminal.

• For Distro Server 1 (4th/5th Gen: DPPtHGSSBWB2W2)

RNG'd and Shiny Pokemon! ~ Server Sponsored by willaiem, owner of PokeGTS.us

The DNS Server settings should read :

Server%20Check.png

Primary DNS : N/A

Secondary DNS : N/A

• For Distro Server 2 (4th/5th Gen: DPPtHGSSBWB2W2)

Event Pokemon!

The DNS Server settings should read :

Server%20Check.png

Primary DNS : N/A

Secondary DNS : N/A

To test if a server is running correctly, press the Server Check button.

Please change your DNS back once you are done using The Global Terminal. Using any other features in-game outside of the GTS such as trading with others will be blocked.

Wanted to get an Event Pokemon, but you just aren't free? Just aren't in the same country? Missed the event? Or just simply lazy to go to it? No worries!

After editing your DNS Settings, connect to The Global Terminal. When you first connect, a Pokemon “trade” will automatically start and the distributed Pokemon will be downloaded to your game. On subsequent visits, the download may not automatically start. You then have to click on “Summary”, and “Take Back” the Pokemon.

When this system is in effect, there will be 2 or more Pokemon being distributed at the same time. The distributed Pokemon are posted above. Upon connecting, you will receive one of the above RANDOMLY. You may keep going back in to try for another Pokemon or more of whatever you received.

Are you receiving connection errors after receiving a Pokemon? Don't worry. The disconnect happens after the saving process, so the Pokemon should already be safely in your PC Box. If you, however, want the disconnects to stop, connect to the OFFICIAL GTS once, deposit a Pokemon and take it back. You should no longer experience the connection error message.

If you finish receiving your Pokemon and you see “Deposit”, please do NOT deposit any Pokemon.

~Frequently Asked Questions~

Because we all know there must be bugs to something this huge...

>General FAQ<

• Can I use the Nintendo WiFi Adapter to connect?

Unfortunately, no. The WiFi Adapter does not allow you to set DNS Settings.

Note: Editing PC settings to connect the adapter to TGT is blocked to prevent excessive data usage on my end.

• I get a “Connection Unsuccessful” during the Test Connection!

If you get a “Connection Unsuccessful” during the Test Connection after inputting my DNS Servers, then most likely the server is down at the moment. Send me a PM if this happens.

• Can we trade with others using this system?

No, there is no support for communications with other players. And no, I don't intend on working on that field.

• How do I donate?

• Contact information

You may PM me or if urgent, email me at RoC@pokemongts.com.

>Distro FAQ<

• Can I receive more than 1 of them?

Of course.

• When I download more than 1 of the Pokemon, are they the same?

Yes, they are clones.

• I get a BSOD after receiving my Pokemon!

If you get a “Blue Screen of Death”, or simply BSOD after receiving a Pokemon on the The Global Terminal, it is perfectly normal. The Pokemon data should have been sent to where it should be already. This can be fixed, more details under Section 2.

• Can the disconnects corrupt my game?

Everything has a risk to it. However, I have tested this system with many others already. The worst that has happened is the save file going corrupt, but the previous save was loaded.

• Can I request for a certain Pokemon to be distributed?

Post and I'll see what I can do.

~Error Codes~

Do... Not... Compute...

• 13275

This is a problem on Nintendo's side. Their servers may be too busy. Simply try again later.

• 52000, 52001, 52002

There's a problem with your own WiFi Settings. Recreate your network settings on the DS.

• 52100, 52101, 52102

My server is either facing heavy load or decided to go boom. If it doesn't resolve after awhile, it's dead and I'll have to manually restart them.

• 52003, 52103

No support will be provided for these error codes, which only apply to users of the Nintendo WiFi USB Adapter.

• 61010-61090

Are you using a 4th Gen DNS on a 5th Gen game, or a 5th Gen DNS on a 4th Gen game? If NOT, the server is probably just lagging.

guys these pokemons can be used to official tournaments of nintendo?

You need to read the rules of any tournament to enter and decide for yourself. No one from this or any other fan site has any authority over what goes on at official (or unofficial) tournaments, and it's 100% their call on what Pokemon or even what players are allowed to participate.

Hi guys, it has come to my attention that SingTel, the Singaporean ISP hosting The Global Terminal, has suddenly gone on a nation wide blackout. As such, The Global Terminal is currently down on both servers.

I can't update the thread either, since I'm posting from mobile with the laggiest Internet since Dialup (phone is under Singtel too!), so it appears I have a lack of communication until SingTel gets back up and running.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I will get TGT back up asap.

Posted

SingTel is back up, and I've managed to optimize The Global Terminal and such over the days. I will be restarting the distribution shortly, maybe tomorrow or the day after. The VGC12 Shiny Larvitar (and perhaps others, if I have time) will be added into the distribution then.

Looking at the stats for distribution, it appears that there is a massive lack of demand in the current 5th Gen RNG'd/Shiny Pokemon. I would thus like to appeal for RNGers to donate 5th Gen Pokemon for distribution.

The Event server has hardly seen any activity. I will be trying my best to add as many more events as possible into it. If possible, I would like people to tell me what they would like to see removed from the event server, and what they would like to see added.

As of now, I have made a few changes to the thread. The images are now hosted on GrumpyBumpers instead of Rotasig, and the YouTube video has been changed to a more updated one. The RNG'd/Shiny Pokemon list for 4th Gen has also been updated fully as space constraints ceased to be an issue. If anyone has any other suggestions for the thread, feel free to post away.

Thank you for visiting The Global Terminal!

I believe I've done all the connection things right, but I'm confused about how to select the Pokemon I want.

I'm assuming the numbers to the far left of the Pokemon names have something to do with this, but where do I enter the numbers in?

Sorry guys, The Global Terminal won't be up by today either. I'm going through a LOT of renovations, I promise! Expect MANY more Event Pokemon, especially the newer ones.

Also making something that will help me manage the servers faster and better.

Thanks Arphage and Clarent for helping me!

Thread Update ~ 17th March 2012

Public Notice

- I have obtained various new Events, namely, the Kyushu Train Events Batch 1 (Swampert, Blaziken, Sceptile), the Fukuoka PC Groudon, and the VGC12 Shiny Larvitar(s) from Germany and France).

- That being said, I would like the public's opinion on how I should distribute these, if ever.

- Distro 3, the "New" Distro, is meant for New Pokemon only, for easy access to collectors aiming at a certain Pokemon.

- If all of these Pokemon are added to the "New" Distro, it could cause overpopulation, thus defeating the original purpose and intention of the "New" Distro.

- Please post your suggestions and thoughts on this matter. Thank you.

This is just me speaking, but I think its really hard to get specific (or all) Pokemon from a DNS IP when it is both set to random distribution AND has dozens on each server.

I think, optimally, 20 or so per DNS IP is best.

That's partly why I've never connected to your server before, except briefly at the beginning. It is just intimidating, and I might get 1-2 things I want and 10 I don't.

I have been getting the Pokemon you're distributing, but usually, I just download the pkm file from the PokeCheck links and use PokeGTS to send it to my cart, rather than connecting to your server. It's a bit lengthier of a process, but that way, I'm more likely to get what I want.

As for events (and I don't see why not to distribute any event, personally), I think it makes the most sense to pretty much only distribute the newest and latest events, and then take them down after a month or so. And then put older events back up if anyone requests them.

Any chance on some RNGed Haisty/Mild/Lonely ExtremeSpeed Pikachus?

Posted

Having just 20 Pokemon in one server wouldn't be using the servers to it's full potential, I don't think.

The point of The Global Terminal is to allow people to get events/all sorts of Pokemon that they cannot normally get, I didn't actually intend it for people to aim and get a single Pokemon. I've tried to make that slightly possible though, with the introduction of my 3rd server.

Good suggestion on the events though, about a request system. I'll have to think about that when I find the time.

As for RNG'd events, I usually have one of my RNGer friends (Volcorana or Arphage) sending me their RNGs. I myself can't RNG (bleh) and can never find the time to learn how to. *nudges Bond697*
