ydown Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Not sure if this has been fixed (I only have v2), but the running shoes aren't translated
guyguyson Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Are they translating what random people say and signs, tv's etc?
soneek Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Are they translating what random people say and signs, tv's etc? Yeah
xxdbxx15 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 @soneek just wondering are u translating some of the story txts ?
Shadow_Steve Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Are they translating what random people say and signs, tv's etc? yeah the storyline is a bit harder than the items and such, but dont worry, we are trying to get most stuff fixed also
ydown Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Is it really necessary to translate the storyline?
guyguyson Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Be good to know what's being said about that ruined bed. ydown it's important to translate it enougth so people can figure what they are doing, but it would be nice to have all the extra stuff like the tv shows etc.
soneek Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 @soneek just wondering are u translating some of the story txts ? Yeah I'm just working on whatever I can figure out. I'm doing the Hall of Fame induction now. Is it really necessary to translate the storyline? Probably not, but it'd be fun to know what's going on, especially since we'll have a good number of people working on it. Better than waiting 6-8 months for the US release...though I'm still gonna buy it

xxdbxx15 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Yeah I'm just working on whatever I can figure out. Better than waiting 6-8 months for the US release...though I'm still gonna buy it well some ppl playing pokemon black/white are quite young so they really are not good at figuring out what to do(not all) so it would help them out and it would be nice to know what going on of cource
Darkurai Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Previous lurker here, just wanted to chime in and say that translating the story is highly unnecessary, but it would be nice if just a little bit of dialogue was edited so that we know what's going on, i.e. where we're supposed to be going.
ReignOfComputer Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Agreed. The part that COULD be worked on, however, are parts like the introduction and puzzle parts (e.g. Gyms).
vashack Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I think if people are interested in translated the storyline, then no need to stymie that. if it's what they're interested in, they can go for it. it'll be fun for them, and they'll be less likely to give up half way throught it, and you'll still have people translating the important stuff too.
guyguyson Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I don't understand, why is the story not deemed important? it's a game is immersion not important?
soneek Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Agreed. The part that COULD be worked on, however, are parts like the introduction and puzzle parts (e.g. Gyms). It's just hard finding stuff because most of it is out of order. Some Elite Four stuff was in the 140s, while the beginning of the game was around the 430s. And there's just a bunch of dumb test message files. We really need a separate thread if we have people that are serious about translating the story.

soneek Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Could a previous game not give clues as to how they structure this stuff? I'm not sure, but oh well. We'll come across the main stuff as we're working on it.
Leon1337Assasin Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I don't understand, why is the story not deemed important? it's a game is immersion not important? It is important. But at least we can play it better with the moves, pokemon, items and locations translated first. That was our first priority. Now we're getting to the story.

soneek Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) So \xfffe starts a new line? Alright so how many characters can fit into one line in this game? I need to make some edits on my translations according to that. Edited September 26, 2010 by soneek typo
Shadow_Steve Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 from what i could tell soneek, you might want to look in the other translations, look at file 203, in my github and see what im talking about, im working on the move info, that should help you out
ydown Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Pokemon abilities would be very useful translated, and perhaps natures too. I think there are several new abilities too
Machir Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 me and killnnllik are translating into dutch but how to make a beta patch so we can try if everything work??
Rykin122 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Pokemon abilities would be very useful translated, and perhaps natures too. I think there are several new abilities too Please keep your version up-to-date. In the 3rd version, over 80 % of all ability's are translated. In the 4th version, all natures and more ability's are translated So to keep short: Coming soon...
