Would it be possible to take two Pokemon out of the game entirely, And replace them with two new ones? Now I mean EVERYTHING. I was planning on replacing Like, Bidoof and Bibarel with Zorua and Zoroark. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm assuming this is the right place to post this. Recently, I have decided to replace Kotone, the new Heroine with Kris. So far everything has worked properly, save for a few minor OW sprite glitches (Kris appears to bop her head slightly when walking to the left), those minor glitches I'm not concerned with. My issue lies within PokeDSPic. I know that a/0/0/6 is the file that controls the first two frames of Trainer Backsprites. I haven't any clue what file in the a folder controls the palletes for these backsprites. I need this because without it I cannot alter the backsprites of Kris to meet Kotone's pallete (Oddly enough, Kotones pallete seems in-game to have enough colors to use when recoloring Kris) This is probably the only way I can get it to work, and stop giving me the "png isn't 8bbp indexed" error. I also still do not know what file controls the rest of the frames for the trainer backsprite when the ball is tossed. If anyone could inform me of what these files are, that would be great. So to wrap this up, I need to know what files control the following. The female hero's backsprite pallete The female hero's 3rd and other backsprite animation frames (When she actually throws the ball, or simply sends the pokemon out without it) The female hero's trainer card sprite The female hero/heroine's trainer card sprite's pallete -

Firstly, I need help on how to use pokeDsPic to view Diamond/Pearl sprites (including the fact I don't know which Narc. to extract) Next, how to replace sprites in HGSS. EDIT: My only issue now, is how to edit alternate sprites for pokemon such as Giratina, Shaymin, Unown and Arceus. Which NARC is it? THANKS

hi i am doing a little pokethlon translation and i was able to do everything except for the top screen. i noticed the xml for the top screen text was 33 KB which is 12 more KB than most xmls in hg/ss. whenever i start poketext and put "patch pokethlon.xml" (without quotes) it gives me a traceback error. i was wondering if anyone knows how to edit files larger than 19 KB (which is the largest file i've seen poketext be able to place in msg.narc) thank you PX

I've just recently started playing around with hacking tools, mostly just using the trainer editor, wild pokemon editor, and basic things as that.. I am by no means a hacking pro and one thing i've never been able to grasp is how to script edit and such. What i'm asking for is maybe some direction to a detailed guide that can help me. I'm looking to create "gift" pokemon, and what i mean by that is I want to create an event in Diamond that will let me receive all the past generation starters, by maybe visiting prof rowan after completing a certain amount of seen/caught pokedex count, or by visiting a trainer in certain cities. Also would like to create an event for the first time you visit the daycare center and receive a Togepi egg. Anyone that can help me find a good guide to help along with what tools i'd need would be appreciated. When it comes to this aspect of hacking, i'm clueless. -
I used Rudolph's patch to get a rom that doesn't crashes and all that stuff, but it still crashes once I want to load the game. On NO$GBA, that is. On a side note, I got a Japanese version of Pearl. But I got a problem... EVERYTIME I catch a Pokémon, the game "freezes" on the Pokédex info screen. I tried pressing the A button: doesn't work. I tried clicking the touch screen: doesn't works. Any help please?

How do you find the offset for a poke file/sprite sheet in TileMolester? I can only get the Arceus sprite sheet into strange colors...(hero,heroine=13300, Prof.Oak-6708, etc) -------edit------- For Arceus I tried using 13300 and it turned out golden. At least it's not stranger than before. But what's the real offset?

Hi, anyone know where the text frame images are stored in the rom? Personally I don't like the ones included in HG/SS, I wanna insert my own.

OK, in my Pokemon Platinum I'm trying to play as Arceus using Septfox's guide to Tilemolester and by using the Overworld Sprite of Arceus from ProjectPokemon's ImageDex. (NO OFFENSE TO THE GUIDE) Following the guide, I didn't erase the part at the very top of the hero sheet that looks like a multicolored barcode, and inserted the Arceus sprites using Adobe Photshop 7.0. My mistake, I forgot to maintain the Arceus Sprites same with each other. But that's not the problem. I commited the new sprite sheet and saved. Since I didn't erase the 'barcode' PokeTex commited my sheet to the ROM. Surprise, when I tested it the barcode part was included with the actions and the legs were in the top while the face was in the bottom, meaning that the sprited were out-of-bounds in PokeTex. Could someone figure this out? -------edit-------- I came so close to succeeding but when I pressed Unk.1, the image distorted. -------edit-------- I am now trying to color-map the Arceus, but first I am experimenting with the hero sprite of Platinum. Just out of curiosity. Is there any way yet to import new/different music into Platinum? Since I had this idea of a somewhat personal hack for myself (altered battle themes, mainly) but I dunno how possible it is yet. Or even what format the music in it currently even is.

ok ive ben working on a quick translation of the HG/SS ive figured out how to patch it etc but i cant figure out what the issue with the sections involving the sections that have \X0001 and other pats of code in them if someone could tell me what these are it would speed up my translation process a lot -
Already found out it's not possible hex editing the .pkm of a Pokemon, so there must be some sort of blocker in the actual rom that prevents certain Pokemon from having one, and vice-versa. I'd love to take Suicune off that list. It's just too much hex for one person I'm not sure if it's a per-Pokemon value that doesn't allow this, or if it's more like a list. I found that someone had found Bulbasaur's offset, but I keep messing up the counting, and even if I find Suicune's offset, the issue I raised in my last sentence comes to mind. I need help figuring this out. *I just pasted what should be a female suicune into the end of my SS rom.. works fine, still won't allow it, apparently did nothing. Just a note. Looks like I will indeed spend another sleepless night looking for the solution.

ok i found a new program. i edited a lugia saved it and import it into the .narc, how do i save the narc that lugia i still shadow lugia? cause i saved it this way: imported the files. clicked file en clicked write to narc. and when i reopend my narc i just have a normal lugia. -

Hello! I want to replace the standard latin fonts with cyrillic ones. I've found the font.narc file and nfont.NCLR. I cannot edit anything in the font.narc but I found the english fonts in the nfont.NCLR file. Now I just dont know how to edit the font. Is there any application that can edit a fonts? Thanks.

Has anyone figured this out yet? I took a whack at it and opened a .pkm in Hex Workshop.. Made a Umbreon clone of my Espeon in Pokesav before so. The only obvious thing different being their type and hex address, C4 and C5. I figured the type was next to it, since the only thing different besides their address was this: 8ABA for Umbreon, and 8A92 for Espeon. So only changing that, I went into the game.... and nothing happened. I may of done this right, but I didn't battle, and the graphic for psychic was still in Espeons page. No clue. I figure we need to find where this data is kept. If there's no tool I'll be happy to hex edit. I doubt it's in a .pkm file. Probably in the actual ROM. Been searching, but no luck. I'm determined to make this happen. I've seen a fire type Zangoose before.. I know it's possible. Does anyone care enough to help me find this damned data? And I think the graphics for the type are seperate from what type the game says the pokemon is.. not sure.

I was wondering if I could take all the female sprites from D/P and paste them into HG/SS so all female pokemon are posed differently than the males? -
Alright, so I need to know how to use this, I want to: 1. Get the script files 2. Translate them 3. Make a patch out of the files to be applied to a ROM How would I do this?
