Hello, I'm a begginer in the world of rom-hacking and I'm actually working on a little modified Platinum Rom which I modify with SDSME and PPRE. I wanted to modify the quantity of TM gived when a player interact with an element which give him a TM (because I didn't found how to make TM infinitely usable). In SDSME, I found that some events of a map are coded directly in the "script" section of the relative map but, in some cases, it seems that several elements of a map (character, items, destructible rocks) are managed by an "event", in a different list. So I tried to reach the events of the "Oreburgh Gate (B1F)" where we can normally find the TM01 and TM31. I saw that the events are also linked to another script, which seems to be an external script (I think)... In fact, the number of scripts proposed by the software for Platinum is 1124 (0 to 1123) but the script related to the "event 252" of this map is the script 7005 : I searched a lot, on several forums (French, German and now English forums) but couldn't found a single clue about them... Do someone know where can I find this kind of script related to the events ? Many thanks in advance for your help.

answered Editing Trainer Battle Portraits in ORAS
RPD490 posted a topic in ROM - 3DS Discussion & Help
After watching Trainer battles that were custom made by Mixeli on Youtube in ORAS, I wanted to try and see if I can do my own. However its kind of hard to follow due to the lack of tutorials on Gen VI hacking, and its rather unnerving to see that despite X/Y and ORAS being out for awhile now, that there would be tutorials on this sort of stuff given the few Gen VI hacks that are there like Neo X/Y. Anyway, I just wanted to know where the portraits for the Trainers are when you go into battle, and know how to replace them with custom ones. I can tell that some of the images likely needed to be converted from the game's format to something like PNG and then swap them and convert them back into the format the games will recongize and then rebuild the ROM I figured I try easy first like editing Trainer Data for battles and the portraits before moving to dialogue editing and eventually model hacking. So does anyone know exactly how to edit the battle portraits for the Trainers? -
I'm trying to edit the species of the overworld encounters in Pokemon Black, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've used luascript to find the overworld and script narc files of the maps they are located in, but the scripts files don't seem to contain the overworld encounters and the overworld narc files are pretty incomprehensible to me (and all the guides I can find are for BW2 only). All I'm interested in is editing the species of the encounter, nothing more. I assume there's just a single byte in some file somewhere that I have to edit in order to do that, but there's the issue of finding it first. : /

Hello, I want to do a Pokemon Y randomizer nuzlocke. I have it all randomized and ready to go. However, I am aware that you can't randomize starters using Pk3DS. I went ahead and generated a random Pokemon to use as my starter. So this is my question. Would I be able to somehow Pokegen that Pokemon into my randomized Y version being loaded through HANS? Or would I need a seperate 3DS and trade that Pokemon over to my randomized Y verision? Thanks for reading and hope you can help!

answered How to do Extreme Randomizer for ORAS?
Azenroth posted a topic in ROM - 3DS Discussion & Help
Can anyone lay out a step-by-step process for doing the same type of extreme randomizer nuzlocke that TyrannitarTube did in this series (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGIM7vfCzC8)? Myself and 3 friends want to do a soul link play through on top of the other challenges that TyrannitarTube did. I've already tried looking for this, but I couldn't find anything like this. It might just be that I didn't look hard enough, but here I am. We all already have the physical ORAS games so I'm pretty sure we don't need to get an illegal ROM or anything like that. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering how to do this so helping us out with this would surely be a service to all of humanity. -
Hi everyone, After editing a Pokémon's Experience Type (i.e. Growth Rate, such as "Fast", "Medium Slow", "Erratic", etc.), something goes wrong. For example, an in-game Trainer should have a level 44 Wormadam. However, after changing Wormadam's Experience Type from "Medium Fast" to "Fast", the Trainer's Wormadam is suddenly battled at level 40! I could not think of a reason why this is happening. Shouldn't the Pokémon's level be set? However, I did not try a "new game" yet, but I'm not sure if (or rather: why) that would be the cure. Thanks a lot if you have anything to share on this subject!

The personal narc file for editing Pokémon data has a special value for the 13th bit in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, which is 1 for Diglett and Dugtrio, and 0 for all other Pokémon. Now, this value implies that the Pokémon will not "fall out of the sky" when sent out of the Poké Ball, but it will instead just be stuck to the ground (see this post). I want to know where to find this value for Pokémon Black & White, because I want to add this functionality for Pokémon like Hippowdon (which should also be stuck to the ground, but isn't). Maybe I'm wrong, but I couldn't find it in BW's personal narc. Thanks for your help!

So i used pk3ds to randomize my ORAS everything works fine except the TMs, even though i randomized them on pk3ds, they are not randomized in game

Is there an actual way to randomize starters in ORAS or X and Y? I've tried using PK3ds but apparently changing starters causes ur game to crash. The thing is I've seen youtubers such as TyranitarTube and SleepyJirachi randomize their starters, so I was wondering how they managed to do it

So I homebrewed my 2DS and put Braindump on my SD card just how a video I watched showed me to do. and it does not show up ANYWHERE on the homebrew launcher. What do I do?

Downloaded SDSME for script editing. But there isn't a thread/list anywhere of what which script do. Is there a way to find the right script you need? I need to edit a NPC for pokémon move training and additional text for it.

I would like to edit the textures of the Trainers (preferably your own) in ORAS's many romfs files, but I'm kind of lost, I've been searching for a while through all kinds of files and I'm still struggling. if anyone has the file they're located in I'd really appreciate it! EDIT: Nevermind I'm an idiot. I found them.

answered Red Rescue Team: Adding Portraits?
BlueLeafeon posted a topic in ROM - GBA Discussion & Help
I really love PMD1, but its biggest flaw to me was the lack of portraits for many of the starters' evolved forms. I would like to add a few of them into the rom just for the sake of it, by using PMD2's face portraits (as, so far as I can tell, they are the same size and still have the 16 color limit) but the problem is that I am not precisely sure how to get started. I've delved into the rom before, and found that EVERY Pokemon has a "starter level up" quote in the data, even though it's stuff like partner_level_133 or whatever, and it was likely input as a failsafe. Seeing as how this sort of thing exists, I'm wondering if a similar system is present with the face portraits. As in, there's an actual table to portraits listed somewhere, with likely a byte to tell the game to not try loading for certain Pokemon. If this is true, it would be possible to edit the table, insert a new portrait into clear space and point the game to the image. However, I actually cannot seem to find any sort of hacking notes on PMD1. If anyone could help me by pointing me in the right direction. (Either to hacking notes, or directly telling me if this is or is not possible, and if it is, where to look.) -
i want to look at textures, models, files and stuff for x/y, oras and other pokemon games. i know i need to use action replay to connect the game to the computer, but once im there how do i skip the action replay hack stuff and look at the files? also do i need to use a rom hacking program to look at the files or is that just for editing? keep in mind i dont want to hack the game i just want to look at the files.

Hello, I would like to play Pokemon ORAS and edit it (edit Pokemon base stats or type, or learnset). I think the "technical" word is randomize. Well, what's the best way to do it? Are there Nintendo 3DS emulator out there, or should I buy a real one? Are there ORAS ROMs out there? If I have to buy the games, then is it possible to edit them even if they're original? Thanks in advance. Ps: I hope this is the right section.

Hello, Do someone know how to edit music in X/Y ? I already know how to change the .aac files. I would like to know how to edit the "loop" of the musics. Thank you .

Hey there, I've been looking into some of the information when it comes to XY/ORAS hacking, and I have three quick questions I was a little confused about- 1. Is CRO editing causing black screens a limitation of pk3ds, HANS, or just the game in general? I've read at different places it's possible to work with HANS, but most places say that just simply looking at the CRO options breaks the romhack. First thing I did when trying to hack Alpha Sapphire is mess with the typings ... so something tells me that hack isn't going to work any time soon. So, I guess... will CRO editing ever work, or is it already working? 2. This one is less relevant to ROM hacking but it leads to my third question- Is it possible to take a backup of a digital save, erase the save in-game, make a new save, and then transfer the checksum from that save to the old one? Or, anyway, any possible way of being able to recover the save on a digital game? I know it was previously possible with the QR scanning, but that doesn't appear to be possible anymore. The current save manager thing also doesn't seem to get past the backup check, so it doesn't really have much use. 3. Is it absolutely necessary to delete your XY/ORAS save in order to load a hack? I noticed that I was having an incredibly difficult time loading Starlit Sapphire and Neo X on my 3DS, but as soon as I deleted my AS save, Starlit worked. I can't delete my X save though, because it's a digital copy. So I'm wondering if it won't work because it's digital, because I have to delete the save, or because I did something else stupid without realizing it. Hopefully this is in the right spot and the number of questions here is okay. I'd really appreciate the help!

Hi I am trying to make all wild encounters including starter to be mega evolutions with PK3DS. But I can't figure it out

So... yesterday I've been working all day (literally all day) to try and find a way to dump my Pokémon X game or to decrypt a downloaded pokémon Y file (to use Pk3ds to randomize it), I found out that you either need an older version of the 3ds (4.5 to 9.2 I believe), which mine is running 9.9 and downgrade seems not to be possible, or a gateway, I already bought a Sky3ds which should be arriving in a few days, so my question is, is there anyway to dump and decrypt my Pokémon X or to decrypt the Pokémon Y ROM I have? Also, I managed to download an already decrypted AS ROM which would be ok for randomizing but when Winrar opens it it says it's corrupted and some items like code.bin banner.bin and icon.bin seem not to be in the files (not sure if it's because of the corrupted download), is there anyway I could use this files to randomize AS? If none of this is possible I would really apreciate if someone were to PM me a randomized ROM or the needed files for Pk3ds. Thanks in advance and sorry for any grammar errors since my first language is not english, also this is my first post and if I did anything wrong... Well sorry haha
