Throughout August to November 2001, a Celebi Tour was held across Europe. At that point, @Dr.Matt was able to grab the Celebi during the Spanish stop of the Celebi Tour. Trainer ID can span from 0 - 65535, possible Original Trainer Names being CTOUR, FRANCO, JENS, NICO. He was able to save his FRANCO Celebi from the plague which is Gen 2 cartridges dying batteries wiping the saves, using the combination of storing the Celebi on his Mega Memory Card (though it sadly glitched up and become corrupted) and Pokemon Stadium 2. After finding out that Dr.Matt has the Celebi but is unable to upload it, @suloku contacted Dr.Matt, in hopes being able to grab it and contribute it, as suloku has a GCB cart reader/flasher. Dr.Matt's trained Celebi can be seen in the screenshot with Stadium 2, as well his legitimate certificate for it. Huge thanks to @Dr.Matt for keeping this Celebi alive for so many years, and @suloku for reaching out to help obtain this. Many event Pokemon were lost to time thanks to the drained battery plague, so this is a very rare find! In Pokémon Crystal, lies an event encounter whereby users get to challenge (and potentially capture) the Mythical Celebi. Problem is, the encounter required the usage of the Mobile Communication Device, that was scrapped from the International Versions of the game. As such, this event became unused for a good 10 odd years. (Using the cheat code 91C089DA, players can immediately get the GS BALL from Kurt, and proceed to get the encounter.) As of 26th January 2018 12AM (Australia time), Pokémon Crystal (international versions) has been released to the Virtual Console, with the only requirement for obtaining it being defeating the Elite Four. (Any instance would unlock the flag. Any other step, such as bringing the GS Ball to Kurt and waiting for one day still applies.) This allowed Celebi to be legitimately captured and transferred up to generation 7. This file was first uploaded to our Unreleased Gallery, as the Celebi event was unused at that point in time. When players logged into Pokémon GO during the period of December 14, 2020 to February 28, 2021, they gain access to the special research that yields a Shiny Celebi upon completion. Players do not need to complete the research within the period. The special research was available to players to promote the then upcoming movie in Japan, Pokémon M23: Coco (the movie has the name changed to Secret of the Jungle internationally). Winter Celebi (GameStop) This Celebi was included on the same distribution cartridge as the three GameStop Johto Beasts, but was replaced with a new one containing the Celebi with the WIN2011 OT before the event began. While never officially released, some customers and employees were able to receive this Celebi through changing the clock on the DS with the distribution cart. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, this Celebi can activate an event at Ilex Shrine involving time travel and a battle with the Team Rocket Boss, Giovanni. When it is sent to Black or White versions via the Relocator, it can be used to meet a Zorua in Castelia City. The international version of the Ageto Celebi Event was translated and programmed into Pokemon Colosseum, but was never released to players. @HaxAras managed to use some codes and trickery to gain access to them. This Celebi and a Dada Zarude were released in commemoration of Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle in US and EU. To get the event codes, users had to sign up the TPCi newsletter before September 25, 2021. The codes were sent to users on October 7, 2021. As of LGPE, wonder cards are no longer stored in saves. This event was distributed to players at the New York Pokemon Center: Gotta catch 'em all! Station, and the collection for various PCNY Pokemon ran across the period of November 22, 2001 to March 13, 2003. The schedule of Pokemon changes weekly, and players was restricted to collecting one Pokemon per week per visit. This Celebi has a 1% chance of being shiny, and the dates for distribution was: December 21 to 27, 2001, June 29 to July 4, 2002, October 11 to 17, 2002, November 22 to 28, 2002, March 7 to 13, 2003. Originally meant to be distributed on April 17th 2020, it has since been delayed and subsequently distributed on August 7th 2020. This distribution commemorates the appearance of the Shiny Celebi in the movie. When movie-goers preorder the movie ticket, they get two serial codes along with their ticket. Originally, the code for Celebi can be redeemed on April 17th, and the code for Zarude will only be functional on June 15th, however functionality of both codes (and the collection of physical tickets) were delayed to August 7th. With the release of Pokémon Crystal on the Virtual Console for 3DS, Celebi (shiny and non-shiny) can be transferred up using Pokemon Transporter, due to the fact that VC Pokémon Crystal allows players to get the GS BALL legitimately (without hacking or glitching). However, Pokémon Crystal was not released to the Korean 3DS's, neither in Korean (as Korean Pokémon Crystal didn't exist back in the day) nor in international languages (as in Korean 3DS never got it). As such, the only Virtual Console games that do not have access to Celebi are the Korean versions of Generation II, as the Korean Virtual Console titles cannot communicate with the Japanese nor International versions. While it would be illegal, Pokémon Transporter allows the transfer of a Korean Celebi from Generation II. This page contains a shiny and non-shiny Celebi modeled after the one caught in Ilex Forest of Pokémon Crystal.
