Announced at the dawn of the Japanese New Year (2021) during the Space Sunrise Live stream directly from the International Space Station (ISS), this Pokémon has been made available for everyone to be freely redeemed through Sword/Shield Mystery Gift. This marks the first time Gigantamax Pikachu was found in Max Raids. This Pikachu has the move Volt Tackle, which is normally only available by breeding (while parent holds Light Ball). Volt Tackle also cannot be passed from breeding parent to breeding parent, unlike other egg moves. Note that the Gigantamax factor cannot be obtained by breeding, thus this combination (Gmax + Volt Tackle) is normally not possible. This also marks the first time Gigantamax Pikachu can be shiny, as the only one previously available was shiny locked. The Wild Area Event for this Pikachu can be found here.

This entry was transferred from from Pokémon Go to Let's Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee. The Original Trainer for Pokémon Go was changed for privacy purposes. While Shiny Pikachu has been released early in Pokémon Go, even before the introduction of Community Days, for the file on this page contributed by @wo0ts, the Shiny Pikachu provided was not caught in the wild, but instead was evolved from a Shiny Pichu, obtained from an egg obtained from the Pokémon Go Safari Zone in Dortmund, Germany. In 2018, from June 30th to July 1st, the Safari Zone Pokéstops would yield 2km eggs that had a chance of hatching into a Shiny Pichu.

This is a Wild Area event held by Sword and Shield. This Max Raid event was distributed to players to commemorate the Pokémon Day 2021. This Max Raid event adds Gigantamax Pikachu as a possible encounter into the previous Max Raid encounters. This event also has an increased chance of landing a Shiny Gigantamax Pikachu; players have a 2% chance of landing on a guaranteed Shiny, only at the 5 star tier. Besides that, there are also specific rewards for the amount of times Max Raid Battles against Gigantamax Pikachu were won: 1,000,000 battles won: players receive 100 Armorite Ore and 100 Dynite Ore. In Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, players will receive a Cosplay Pikachu, after taking part in a Pokemon Contest Spectacular. The Cosplay Pikachu comes with it's Hidden Ability Lightning Rod, and an exclusive move that changes with the costume. Cosplay Pikachu normally cannot be obtained shiny in-game. Through the power of hacking, theSLAYER obtained a few Cosplay Pikachu that are different from normal. 1. Shininess + Hidden Ability (Lightning Rod) 2. Shininess + Ability Slot 1 (Static) [these were obtained by changing TID/SID of the Pokemon, to make it shiny. Also, ability changed for non-HA versions] It's normally impossible to obtain more than one Cosplay Pikachu, and like Spiky-Eared Pikachu, it cannot be traded (or deposited into Pokemon Bank), and cannot be transferred to future generations. Pokémon Sun & Moon introduced a variant Pikachu that wear's Ash's Hat (Cap Pikachu) AND Let's Go Pikachu introduced a variant that is your buddy (Partner Pikachu), and it's interesting to note they removed shiny coloration for the alternate model that fills the shiny slot, meaning that Cosplay Pikachu may be the last Pikachu Variant that have Shiny Models, even when shiny locked.
