School issues, life issues, Koreans not being Koreans, etc. I'm probably the only one who has the concept of nationalism right here. The others are... well... fickle. At least today's Buddha's birthday, which means no school. Lanterns and stuff are being hung all over this town.

Awww poor Spinda. There's an actual panda Pokemon now! The other Pokemon don't look bad, though the lizard is somewhat strange. It must be the Mareep/Shinx of this generation, except with Normal typing. Electric Giga Drain? Fighting U-turn that lowers attack? Why is it that Fighting moves are full of random penalties? The boy is too... weird. Though his theme is similar to his predecessors, he seems too slim. If he had a Napoleonic outfit, then I'd reconsider <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/tongue.png" alt=":P" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/tongue@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I actually like how the girl looks like. Because you know, at least the French know how to look good. I'm always a fan of skirts of decent length: we don't get enough of that anywhere.

Ah yeah... it's Buddha's birthday tomorrow... which means no school. I guess there's one thing to thank that overweight Indian prince for (he probably wasn't even fat as the Chinese made him...) There are beautiful lanterns and flowers adorning my entire town. I wish I could show you (and I can, but I feel much too idle to be uploading them here), but meh, if it were not for those imagery of Siddartha I'd like it. Of course, Christmas has become an excuse for commercialism here... just like 'Murica. What I'd give for these fickle South Koreans to stop being hive minded by heeding the calls of their American overlords and calling it nationalism and originality (no really it isn't: take PSY and replace him with an American guy and replace Gangnam Style's lyrics with English and it's clear as water that this is no Korean product)... honestly we might as well be an American state or something, but that's another story.

Some health issues? Not a nice thing to hear, though getting a bachelor's degree in the end is always nice. I'm a teacher at some random elementary school in some nowhere place, which has too many auto-mobiles for a Korean countryside (we have modernised much too quickly: #1 in terms of people owning cars per household in the nation in fact). I miss those days when there were more bicycles than lorries/auto-mobiles, but now it is so dangerous. I'm okay with this for now, though my life has been getting some random plummeting these days due to some circumstances. It's not a nowhere place by the way: it's always advertised as the "city of education" (교육의 도시) on all those buses, famous for its apples too (and a massacre during 1950 claiming 719 innocent lives). It is also approximately one hour away from my hometown, so it is not all too bad.

Wow I should have said I'd be gone for a while. I was at 제주도, a remote island in Korea. All the traditional stuff... they all disappeared U___U;;;

Stupid modernism/globalism/AIDSism/etc. Some stuff still remains, but I miss when my nation could differentiate itself from 'Murica and the rest of the world.

Anyways I shall get back to you later, if I can. If not, I'm probably shot by some North Korean soldier.

Kyurem: A Speculation Thread

Eh this thread has been going on for a while, but I'll let it stay, as long as it contributes to anything lorewise. While 5th gen is riddled with stupid stat spreads and some unfair abilities (Haxorus/Reuniclus/Conkeldurr/etc much?), stats is not everything really. You can have all the attack in the world but if your speed falls behind or have a bad defensive typing, then that Pokemon can be tough to use competitively (Rampardos comes to mind). Also, Pokemon aren't meant to be equal, much like humans, so why bother? But everything does have a role, at least for most of the fully evolved Pokemon. Kyurem, being designed to be a very powerful legendary Pokemon, is quite strong but by no means broken. You would not play Kyurem in normal matches anyways because it was meant to be pit against other super legendaries like Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, and the likes. And it is not bad there. Kyurem's defensive typing means it hates common Fighting/Dragon/Rock attacks, and priority moves such as Bullet Punch or Mach Punch really hurt it. It's quite potent offensively, and Kyurem-W is one of the more threatening beasts out there and very hard to switch into, but it can still be handled. Deoxys is a bit of a gimmick where they took offensive stats and put them to the extremes, so it's an acceptable concept. And so is Kyurem, even if its BST is at 700, it's not like something over 720 wasn't done before (Arceus). Most of the other super legendaries before it, however, sat at 680 BST at maximum. It was odd regular Kyurem was at 660, so something had to be done. Also, a movepool also makes and breaks a Pokemon. Don't just look at their stats. Kyurem-B somewhat struggles because there is no reliable physical Ice STAB for it to abuse (although STAB Outrage coming from that thing is scary). Also you may have not noticed, but Kyurem-B has an extra 10 base Defence while Kyurem-W has an extra 10 base Special Defence. Though it is a significant boost from the regular Kyurem, it still left me a bit disappointed. I wish those extra stats went into Kyurem's speed so it can be at 105 base speed. Alas, no such thing occurred. All that attack means nothing if you cannot move first against some of the uglier threats. You are looking for Gamefreak, not Nintendo. Nintendo just publishes the game, if I am using the right word. But what makes you say that? Arceus has base 120 stats all over, meaning at neutral nature, that is 339 at maximum (and 372 at beneficial nature at max). You will not reach 400 anywhere, except HP. On the contrary, Mewtwo's highest stat is Special Attack at base 154, which allows 446 Special Attack (or was it 447?) at beneficial nature, and at 407 at neutral nature at maximum, which is well beyond 370. Mewtwo's speed is also no joke, sitting high at base 130, which is 359 at neutral nature and 394 at beneficial, which is still hovering in that range. Either your Mewtwo has a really low special attack IV (and a hindering nature) or you rare candied it all the way to 100 so it does not have the proper EVs. Pokemon's stats are just hex data, but I'm showing you Mewtwo has potential to reach those high number statistics. Also, I do prefer strawberry jam over grape jelly on my toast, thank you.

I saw a Nippon Animation with the real story with the mermaid's name Marina and a baby dolphin named Fritz. The dubbing is terrible since it's from like the 1980s or so, but I still felt really sad at the end >_<

New Mewtwo is a new forme for sure. It has to be.

Miyazaki films: Love them for the most part. I do like its surreal Nihon style and whatnot, and I did like Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away and the likes, but I have not watched all of them yet.

Looks like we'll be getting a new Mewtwo form, which looks somewhat weird.

Oh. I didn't realise you were making a Flying team. Durant, however, is redundant with most of the other physical bugs, but it will OHKO most that aren't Steel after a single Hone Claws with Hustle. But it needs to set that once or twice before it is effective however. Speed isn't a problem for it, but special defence is. Technician Scyther with Eviolite is quite dangerous and works pretty well.

Yeah, that works: I think Heracross sets up pretty nicely vs Golurk (I forgot its moveset though so I will have to check), while Flame Body (if it activates) will make Heracross scary. Beware of Iris's Haxorus: it has a Focus Sash .___.

Poison subtyping isn't actually a bad thing, except vs Caitlin. However, that Musharna's the easiest thing to set up against (I'm serious... dead easy, but a little harder in Challenge Mode). Set up a Growth or two in the sun, and you have a sweep right there. It's even better with Chlorophyll, but that's DW unfortunately. Venusaur isn't TOO slow.

Gliscor isn't bug though, unfortunately. Durant with Hustle + Hone Claws + 3 moves = absolute carnage. It tears nearly anything that isn't a Steel type apart. It has HP and SpDef problems, however. It is a high priority to KO for me generally in competitive because if that thing sets up... yeah. Genesect will effortlessly tear most of them, but beware of teh firez.

Night Slash is a base 70 attack, so it's super weak. Try to at least set up a Swords Dance before using it: sometimes it might not KO things like Cofagrigus even then (and beware of Mummy: it's very anti-Guts Heracross). That Cofagrigus makes most physical attackers difficult to use.

I only suggested Shiftry so you can take down Shauntal or Caitlin easier (particularly Shauntal because Caitlin has a Metagross) with Nasty Plot + Dark Pulse/Grass move/something else. Lilligant... Quiver Dance + Giga Drain + Sleep Powder + Dream Eater... maybe.

Problem there is U-turning will result in Sawks selecting Stone Edge regardless, hitting your switch-in. Scolipede? Bulky? Eh, I guess it's not frail, but 60/89/69 isn't exactly what I call bulky, but it is fast, packs Earthquake/Rock Slide/Swords Dance coming off 90 attack, and can be bred with Heracross for Megahorn (though without it you'd be using X-Scissor). It's not a bad choice, as its typing isn't bad against Marshal but will be a problem vs Shauntal and Caitlin.

Ludi is fast with rain, if it has the right ability. You don't get much offensive powerhouse in Grass type that isn't Breloom or Chloroabusers like Victreebel/Venusaur/Exeggutor. Well okay, there is Celebi. The problem here is the Grassers with conflicting weather conditions: Abomasnow and Ludicolo being chief offenders. STAB Return from Sawsbuck? It's okay, but without something like Swords Dance, you're not OHKOing anything... I think. Plus Ghosts lol on it. Regular Shaymin is fine too.
