Offline Pokemon Team Generator (Strategies and Moveset)

It suggests Hidden Power! I will avoid it like the plague! ... in all honesty, I like how the interface looks, but I am not really enamored by the "standardized" sets suggested by Smogon. Okay, I guess "it works" but eventually, people will only think there is "one or few ways" to use a certain Pokemon... which is just disgusting. In fact, due to playing the metagame a lot, I completely forgot moves like Psychic existed. But I love the idea and all... but I puke on standardization. To be fair though, Smogon sets do work... but I only take them as suggestions rather than place EVs blindly like 252/252/6 spreads and two STAB moves, etc. -
The game sucks overall. It's not the lack of PvP that is... and people already "prove they're better" by comparing damage range and stuff like that. It was fun in the early stages, I'll tell you that much. I guess its biggest turnoff was the community, not the lack of PvP. I mean, if you want PvP, there are tons of other games that have that. And if we had PvP, stuff like Assassins/Genesis spamming Bishops/Dual Blades (!!) will always win (slow guys like Warriors will stand no chance).

I've pretty much played every classes, but I mostly play mages, even if their damage output is much lower than the physical classes. I don't really play anymore but the highest I've ever reached was level 84 on my old Ice Lightning Mage... Last time I left off, I had a Page waiting to be a White Knight. I don't know if I will ever get back on though... it got boring and just... annoying

Gengar Moveset: Shadow Ball is Physical?! [Pokemon Silver Version]

Yeah... and Dark moves are Special. Stuff like Crunch, Bite, Faint Attack, etc... can you believe their logic? Gengar still has other options in his movepool, such as Psychic, Hypnosis, Thunderbolt, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, etc. He's still versatile and can mess with his counters and defeat them all if they switch into the wrong move. I used a Haunter back in my Gold version... she served me very well and was one of my most powerful Pokemon. Don't give up on it! Ground weakness... sucks. Period. But Gengar can outpace most of them who has STAB and hit them with Ice Punch or Giga Drain Rhydon for a OHKO or something. Gengar is still a tricky Pokemon to switch into, but it has such a great coverage... Shadow Ball is physical, and all four ghosts of Gen II (Gastly/Haunter/Gengar/Misdreavus) cannot utilize it well despite receiving STAB. It's crazy... but it even lowers SpDef, not physical Def. They were intending on making it special... but they couldn't until Gen IV. You know who to save your TM30 on? The underrated Flareon! Okay, I may sounds crazy, but with an attack score of 130 and a SpDef of 110, Flareon can serve as an anti-Psychic/Ghost Pokemon... and Shadow Ball is one of her strongest attacks to use (as crazy as it sounds). Unless you plan on directly taking Alakazam with Gengar (it's not going to happen), don't bother with Shadow Ball unless you're going for the novelty purpose of mixset... which Gengar can still pull off mind you, but 65 base attack is less than stellar. EDIT: The Alakazam Vs Gengar argument. Who is better? It depends on your tastes. Alakazam is a glass cannon... Gengar is the same. However, Gengar has immunity to Normal and Fighting moves (and Toxic), has a much larger movepool, and doesn't need to spam Psychic every time to win unlike Alakazam. Destiny Bond is an awesome move in itself and quite underrated, but can get you a free KO. Alakazam has higher Speed and SpA though, which is arguably more important for a special attacker... but go physical with it? You wish. It really depends on your tastes on who you get. In Gen I and Gen II, I'd say get both, but it's your call. -

By that logic, we should probably have a Fire/Poison too. But a W4 to Ground and an added weakness to Psychic is no good, unless it has Levitate, which would make it a different story. Ice/Electric means STAB Boltbeam, which would be great. Now what about a climate affecting Pokemon with a horrendous but funny Ice/Fire typing? @ Lucario: As Gin said, Wonder Guard Ghost/Dark were not meant to exist. You fight Wondertombs/eyes it means you're fighting hackers... which comes to tell you how great of battlers they are... </sarcasm> The fact Fire Fang and Beat Up affects them is some sort of a glitch. Also, you can just get a Mold Breaker Pokemon (hi Pinsir and Rampardos!... or hacked Mold Breakers >_>) and use non Normal/Fighting/Psychic moves if you're really that worried about Wondertomb. And don't forget about status like Toxic/Will-o-Wisp...
