How did you do this, and which files is it capable of replacing?

  2. How did you make it so that all pokemon obtained are legit? If I found a usually unobtainable pokemon in a route, how would it be legal despite the fact that it was caught from a route they don't exist in?

All the "usually unobtainable" pokemon in each route are obtainable through the DexNav after beating the Elite Four. Each Pokemon data file doesn't specify if it was caught with the DexNav, so a Level 5 Zorua from Route 101 through DexNav in Alpha Sapphire after beating the E4 is identical to a wild Level 5 Zorua from Star Sapphire obtained before the first gym.

  3. Hey, I am trying to create the final 'Star sapphire' 3DS rom. But when I open the 'star sapphire patcher.bat' I get an 'rsf error' with this message: 'failed to open Sapphire.rsf'. How can I fix this?.

Try using this version of the decrypt/repack .ZIP file, it should have a proper Sapphire.rsf included.

I also went ahead and put the necessary RSF files in the distribution ZIPs.

  4. If I understand this right, I could breed and train in these games, move to the retail carts, go online in those and they'd be perfectly legal? The faster breeding is more appealing as I'm making a living dex, and eventually the whole living dex will occupy Pokemon Bank, so legality is important. What their original game info be though? RR would be OR, SS would be AS, right? Breezing through, didn't see anything about legendaries. They still follow the 3IV minimum? Post-game, fast training can only happen through trainer rematches? Are those regular? In the retail carts, I train via Blissey trainers in secret bases, which that itself is fast. Anyways, great stuff, would love to try it out.

Yes, they would appear legit as from OR/AS. Legendaries are untouched from the default, they still get 3 guaranteed IVs. Post-game fast training can happen through QR/StreetPass Blissey Bases as well as the Mauville Food Court (Doubles and Triples there are now Lv100 Blisseys). Trainer rematches are not "regular", they're modified the same as other trainers.

Romhack of: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (3DS)

Pokémon Rutile Ruby and Star Sapphire are romhacks of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Their main purpose is to provide a more challenging game experience while not artificially limiting the player. The premier feature of Rutile Ruby and Star Sapphire is the ground-up redesign of Pokémon Trainers in the world to increase the game's challenge. Every trainer in the game has been edited, and the level curve expects use of the Experience Share, which means that you level up very quickly. You should be hitting Level 100 by the time you get to the Elite Four.

(As discussed, link removed as it directs to page that host files from ROMs. Please upload files accepted by the forum, thanks :D)

  6. Using this incredible tool I've just released the first version of my 6th Gen mods; Neo X & Neo Y (See here http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?46215-Pokemon-Neo-Y-amp-Neo-X/)

So, just want to say a massive thanks to Kaphotics and the entire community for your continual work into making things like this possible. Hoping it'll be posted on this site first waiting on the thread to be approved my mods.

Nice! I need to finish the rematches and the Team Magma battles and my OR/AS hack will be ready for release. Once I finish that I'm definitely going to play your XY!

  7. Is there a definitive list of the AI tiers in this game? I noticed that even Level 7 (which the Champion uses by default) isn't as "optimal" as the Battle Maison. Also, it seems like values 125 through 135 are reserved for Double/Triple/Rotation AI and any normal number (0 through 7) makes them so stupid they attack their own teammates. Any way to get a normal Single Battle AI to be the "mind-reading bullshit" that's in the Maison? Or at least get it to stop spamming healing items and boost moves when it's facing a certain OHKO. Also, would be nice if there was a way to make the AI not always use its Mega last.

Also, not sure if this is the right place for it, but is there a way to change the ROM's ID so it doesn't check for patches?

  8. I usually don't like to load multiple GARCs for one form, and I don't know if there's a hard-coded limit on how many levelup moves a Pokémon can have. It's not too hard to add your requested 'egg-level' memory (tutor-memory would defeat their purpose ingame); just gotta know if it's actually feasible.

If you do make this, can you make sure it also adds egg moves to the level-up list of Evolutions? Also, an "import" button for every function that has a "dump" button would be most appreciated.

I know I'm spamming you with requests, but another great feature would be if you could set moves in the Move Editor to perform the functions of other out-of-battle moves. For example, let Slash be selectable as Cut outside of battle.

  9. I was always wondering if anyone wanted that and thought that it'd be nice to have :)

I should have it done by the end of the week, so long as there aren't any other bugs to chase!

Oh my god, an "import from CSV" button would be incredible. I do most of my planning in Excel, so it would be great to be able to just click a button and pull it all into the ROM editor! Also, thanks for fixing the gender thing.

Another request is for an "archive all values" option and an "apply from archive" one to match. I'd like to have PK3DS output a file that contains every single value it CAN modify, and the value of each of those. Then, we can share our ROM hacks without distributing game files themselves!

Also, some "quick scripts" would be nice. I'd like to see one that adds everything from the "egg" and "tutor" list for a Pokémon to its (and its evolution's) Level-Up Movepool at Level 1, so people can access the full movepool from the standard Move Reminder.
