  1. I don't currently have a method of dumping the ROMS but I may do this in the future. Some interesting notes about the Manaphy cartridge is that it is not date/time locked unlike every other Gen IV and V cartridge. The event only ran for a few hours so it seems the developers saw no need to implement a date. You can set it today and it will distribute Manaphy endlessly where as if you were to use Darkrai (the event after it), it would need to be set to the distribution date presumably set in the RAM. If there are any other questions for comparison purposes in this thread, let me know.
  2. Apologies. I thought I had managed it until now, I've hit a snag. I've set the hex number to 215 as the list from Bulbapedia suggested but when I save the .pcd file and then reload it either in Mystery Gifts in PokéGen or back in to the Mystery Editor, it shows as blank. I downloaded the Enigma stone for comparison purposes but the problem seems to be that the Mystery Gift editor is saving my Lock Capsule.pcd blank. I'm probably missing something really simple here. Excellent, grazie mille. I speak Italian so no problem. For some reason then pcd files I was saving were coming up blank.
  3. Interesting. I'm just messing around with it now. I can't see an option for the Lock Capsule in the editor though. http://i.imgur.com/Z2uEDrX.png Unless it's one of the Unknown slots? http://i.imgur.com/Kx9n67u.png How's this looking? I couldn't see an option for the Lock Capsule itself though. Will this still unlock it? (I'm terrible at this, I apologise).
  4. Thanks guys! Never made a wondercard before. Should be interesting! Is there one already premade which I can inject? Might be easier and save me some hassle.
  5. Hi, Bit of an odd request but I'm making a video on unreleased event items. The next one I'm covering is the Lock Capsule for HG/SS. Naturally I'll need to edit my save to have it put in. If I presume correctly, I will need the wondercard data to unlock the event instead of just force injecting it in to my bag, correct? If so, could you someone point me in the right direction or even a link to the wondercard itself? Much appreciated in advance.
  6. Just offering my tuppence here. The Mew cartridges on Ebay are simply .sav dumps on to retail cartridges of FireRed. The same sellers on Ebay offer them every few weeks with various prices ranging from "$200-500". The OT is Red, National Dex (including Celebi) is obtained, all badges. 4* Trainer card if memory serves right. Game time is usually 100+ but it depends on how often they've had it happen on a GBA/SP. Game time though doesn't really show anything in particular. The Mews are clones yes but how do you explain the same Pokémon traded from customers across multiple cartridges? (Unless they're smart enough to delete them). I'm not suggesting that some of them aren't real by any means but the same sellers list these cartridges claiming they received them from former emloyees of Toys R Us. Ebay has an archive, and the fact they've listed (and sold) 10 Fire Red Mystry Mew distribution cartridges in the past year is a pure sign of .sav dumping. As for the Mews themselves, yes there are only 420 Mews available but with save editing possible, editing the Mews to make them 'unique' isn't really difficult. If someone does in fact dump the save, Legal.exe them and it shows they're hacks, who are they going to complain to? They're hardly going to complain to Ebay about a Not For Resale Item.
  7. That's all I did, yeah. This is a really, really old Pearl save with 999:99 hours on that I've used since Day 1, believe it or not. Never backed this up before, so no outside interference. They're retail distribution cartridges, not ROMs.
  8. Ha, as per usual. Well I have the following event cartridges which are specifically to Diamond and Pearl only; Movie11 Shaymin GameStop Deoxys Alamos Darkrai The rest I have also distribute to HG/SS & Platinum. I deleted my save data at the main menu by using the standard Up + Select + B, worked my way to the Pokémon Centre in a new save file and then received the events in this order; Machina Arceus (Europe), Movie 11 Shaymin (Europe) & Deoxys Gamestop (US). Note that the Gamestop Deoxys was the only file to provide the Wondercard + Partial Cart data, not the Shaymin.
  9. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. In what way do they differ, by the way? Files are in the same format so I presume it's just the way the hex numbers are presented.
  10. None at all. It's a retail cartridge, never backed up before, fresh save & a retail distribution cartridge from the event I worked myself. From Google, it appears this problem was apparent during early Diamond and Pearl events. Deoxys is the earliest cartridge event I have. There are a few threads with literally the same issue.
  11. Excellent, that worked. Thank you! Do you have any idea why this happened at all? It was a new save file and the Delivery Man just wouldn't turn up, but would with other events.
  12. Hello all, I've done a few searches and I can't find any answer. Hopefully you can help me. I have a number of Generation IV and V distribution cartridges. I sent a Deoxys to my Pearl version but the Delivery Man is not there. The Wondercard was downloaded using another DS to my retail Pearl and when I back up the .sav file, it shows the following; Slot 3 is the Wondercard which does say Unclaimed. Slot 4 is Partial Cart Data. The Slot 1 and 2 are occupied and can be redeemed correctly. I cannot obtain the Deoxys nor can I discard the cartridge without me obtaining it first. Any ideas on what's happened here? Is there a way to wipe the Mystery Gift information for this save file? Much appreciated.
  13. I have a few of these still in Generation 3 format .gpk files. I would be interested in a trade.
  14. The last time I properly visited these forums, we barely knew anything about the file format, never mind this. Dare I say Pokécheck's return is on the cards? Amazing job, well done.
  15. I have one of these saves too. It's my belief that a shiny Mew is not possible from this particular event.
  16. I traded the Nidoran from the fake cartridge to my legitimate version of Fire Red without any issue. According to Google the anti-cheat system in the DS games will wipe the save data in the Gen III cartridge but I had no issue with that.
  17. Hello all, A few years ago a friend gave me his Fire Red cartridge to 'fix' as he claimed he couldn't Migrate his Pokémon to Pearl. The menu in his DS game wouldn't prompt him with an option of Migrating. I took a good look at it using his DS game with my Gen III cartridges successfully but my DS games couldn't recognise the Fire Red neither. After a quick Google search as well as coming to the conclusion myself, the solution to the problem was discovering the Fire Red was a bootleg copy. If you're unaware Ebay is full of bootleg copies of Gen III cartridge games as well as DS games but I'm told they're less numerous. The legality of the Pokémon on the cartridge took my interest but with PokéCheck being down I didn't have a good view of it outside of the Legality Checker. I found a shiny male Nidoran on the cartridge in the Safari Zone, transferred to Soul Silver, backed the .sav up and took a look. 'Uncommon GBA' Legit or not? I believe the process of bootlegging games is copying and pasting data to blank cartridges.
  18. Hello, I have little knowledge about the RAM and what not in Gen III. I read that due to the broken RNG in Emerald, shiny Pokémon in saves with a PID number over a certain figure will not throw up shiny Pokémon, ever. Is this true? What are the facts about this? Thanks.
  19. The Transporter is very odd when receiving Pokémon from Gen III games. A couple of Pokémon from Fire Red including a Bellsprout (hatched), Togepi (from in-game event) and a Caterpie didn't pass, but then when I retried an hour later, they did. My beloved shiny Sableye from my Emerald version also failed to pass. I've had this guy for almost eight years and has collected pretty much all of the available Ribbons up until now. After several attempts, he passed through. These were Pokémon obtained in retail cartridges, never edited, nor converted to file. At least they're through now.
  20. So I'm best getting the EZ 3-1 ? I want to back up DS games. I find the R4 easy enough to back up my Gen III cartridges.
  21. Hello, I'm not too great with this stuff but I have managed to backup my .savs through the use of an R4 card + wifi. Is there a way to back up and restore without the use of my wifi (which is not compatible with Gen IV games). Thank you.
  22. Hey guys, Basically my question is, can I extract (using an R4) a .sav from a Leaf Green bootleg copy to a retail copy? Cutting a long story short, I unfortunately bought a bootleg version about two years ago online (have since become aware of the apparent number of Gen III fake cartridges). It sat there a while until my girlfriend wanted to try it out, not having played past Gen II. Instead of buying her a retail copy (which I do own incidentally, as well as Fire Red) I gave it to her to try out and see what she thought. She became addicted and has enjoyed the story line a lot. The problem is now that I fear it corrupting on her. I'd like to extract the .sav file and then dump it back on to a retail copy as I presume the structure is pretty much identical. She has a lot of good Pokémon on there that are sentimental (legendaries, non-public events I've traded to her) so it'd be a shame to lose them. I don't want to risk it without getting some information first. I've heard of games corrupting when trying to extract the .sav, but I can't get much information. Has anyone else been in this situation? My guess is it's not possible due to some sort of security on the retail cartridge but then again Gen III files were notoriously weak. Thank you, and good work with the 3DS so far.
