  1. You could try using RNGReporter to generate a PID, but regardless of what you use it takes forever to find shiny hex-flawless PIDs. If Pokegen's not showing you a PID for your combo then it probably can't generate one for it. Unless you're breeding it's very highly unlikely that you'd get a flawless shiny PID. Even moreso if you're going for the right nature... I'd check every year from 2000 to at least 2100 but I still doubt you'd end up with a hex-flawless shiny.
  2. English, US English. It appears to happen in both Pokegen's Japanese mode and English mode.
  3. Invalid character. I actually tried pasting it in from google translate before. Apparently Google can translate pokemon names now... Anyway, after messing around trying to get the character to show up correctly a number of times with pokegen, I went and downloaded pokesav since all I needed to do was change the name. After changing it to the correct name with pokesav I opened the save back up in pokegen.. and the Wa shows up as the tiny kana that you use for modifying other kana (i.e.: 0x30ee instead of 0x30ef that's supposed to come up) and pasting in 0x30ef is not working. Interestingly, this only seems to happen when I'm using a Gen 4 save. I haven't tested gen 5 saves, but I noticed that when I open the program without opening a save, I am able to find and use 0x30ef with no problem. but when I open my US SoulSilver save, I'm presented with another charactermap that is missing 0x30ef. It's not user error as it is repeatable, though I'm sorry I should've mentioned that it was happening with a Gen 4 save in my initial post.
  4. I noticed the other night that when I was messing around with a Totodile (jap: Waninnoko) that the first character was missing from the name, and it actually ended up showing up in the save file that way. Trying to copy/paste the character in from an external source resulted in "Invalid character" Thanks
  5. thanks, do you know what the limit is on number of tiles?
  6. So.. now that there's a pokedex skin file format that appears to be larger than c-gear skins.. is there a pokedex skin editor? I'd really like to try my hand at making a skin for my white2 game.
  7. I don't know if this is a recent improvement, but I'm using pikaedit 2.26.15.0 for 5th gen, and have been able to successfully replace the Cheren pokedex skin that I got off the GL with the Bianca skin which I would otherwise not have access to. W2, US version.
  8. that's a bit vague since you haven't mentioned if you plan to dump over wifi or dump to slot 2. If you're dumping over wifi you have to make sure your access point is WEP or unprotected and VISIBLE.. you can't hide your SSID or the homebrew won't be able to find it if I recall correctly. set your DS up for your access point if you haven't already. after that, figure out what your computers IP address is on your LAN, either by finding it on your router's page, or by opening CMD and running ipconfig /all (and trying to find something like 192.168.x.y Once that's figured out you open your savegame_manager.ini and change the ip address to the address of your computer. for my computer that's 192.168.4.42 Open your router's page and make sure the port that the manager connects to (it's FTP so.. 21) is open for incoming connections on your computer's LAN IP address. Some routers don't have port forwarding/opening options so if you have a DMZ setting instead you can put your computers IP in that and set that.. but turn DMZ off after you're done dumping/restoring because that opens ALL ports to and from your computer. Open an ftp server.. I think the one suggested to use with this is Smallftpd? and make sure that connecting to it with the user and pass in the "savegame_manager.ini" will work. If not, change the ini to match your server settings. With your server open and your port open.. and your ini saved with your configuration, start up the savegame_manager.nds. It should go straight to wifi mode if you don't have anything in your slot2. from there you should be able to dump your save.. albeit slowly. I don't think I've ever restored a save over wifi so I'm not sure how that works exactly, but the process is probably similar. Ed: oh and make sure you apply the edits in my previous post as well. if you don't remove the # from the language line and change the path to the language ini, the program will still crash.
  9. the reason .30 crashes is that the language variable in the ini is commented out. copy the ini, app, and the template.ini out of the lang folder and put them all in the root of your sd card. So it your root dir should look like / savegame_manager.nds savegame_manager.ini template.ini Then change the line from #language = /sgm_german.ini to language = /template.ini save, exit, pop your SD back in your flashcart, start it up, and it should work. Also I'd like to say that if there's ever a .31, I really hate the auto-mode-selection. It'd be much nicer if there were a menu that allowed us to pick which mode we wanted to use, as I prefer to run my slot2 homebrew from my slot1, and with the auto-select.. even with the program patched to read/write from/to my EZ4, if run from my slot1 it starts in GBA mode.
