  1. I find the Safari Zone seriously frustrating. Having tried the Mud first and just throwing a ball there seems no real advantage with either method. I believe the Mud makes the Pokemon more likely to flee anyway. I now just throw a ball and hope. On a good run I can catch maybe four or five Pokemon with my allocation of balls. Where do you find Houndoom. I was trying to get one in Pearl (to transfer) but it was just too far away with the limited steps as I wasn't sure where to go..
  2. I did over 2000 steps on my HG and SS Pokewalkers. Found 3 Bronzors on the SS one but could only find Magikarp on the HG one. I returned a Pokemon to the SS one on a different route. Before I could do the same on the HG one a Magikarp took up residence (!) so it looks like I will be doing Winner's Path again. I have never had that happen before!
  3. Also a guide here with no soldering involved. Not sure about the use of the sticky tape though. http://phpbb.pdroms.de/viewtopic.php?t=262
  4. You may find that those cartridges just need a new battery. Do they play and not save? If so check here... http://www.pokemasters.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15464
  5. I just downloaded mine to HG and SS. I got some quick steps on the Pokewalker by reasonably gently clapping my hands together vertically (carefully holding the Pokewalker in one hand). You will need to experiment a bit with the way you hold it and the way you clap before the steps go on (fairly rapidly). Not sure how much I was actually getting but I got the counter from 509 to 640 in a minute.
  6. I am going off my PS3 to an extent. With the last update the Browser (I rarely go online with a PC) loses Cookies way too quickly. Voice chat is restricted to the game you are playing (or no game I presume). The PS3 has other good facilities for you to "play" with. Also download content is sometimes cheaper on PS3. The machine is not region specific (yet?). 360? Much more flexible voice chat. Downside... it costs money to use the online "excellence". I prefer the 360 controller triggers for racing games. As you may have gathered I am not really biased one way or the other (this may start an argument!!). There are console specific games that are very good for both systems. Multi-platform games do not show much (if any) difference between the two consoles.
  7. My first video game was most likely one of the old Pong "tennis" games. All in glorious Black and White. This would have been in the 70's I presume. I eventually progressed to an Atari 2600 which was in glorious colour, that by way of another console that played a game called Star Chess. (Videomaster)
  8. I did actually fire up my (US) Pokemon Pikachu Edition this morning as I found my (Pokemon) Game Boy Color. For the old games it is not so much Bragging Rights as a case of being distracted by other games. I have played all the old games to a greater or lesser extent. My Action Replay stuff tends to be specifics rather than the general stuff that the codes normally contain (all based on the normal codes). Offsets for specific slots in the Bag are easy to locate (I figure they are safer than filling the bag). I loved the old original Playstation where you could plug in your Action Replay and actually look directly into memory. I spent many a happy hour investigating Gran Turismo 2, building so called hybrids... engine from one car, drive sytem from another. The advent of the PS2 and code entry mods put a stop to that unfortunately. At the moment I am trying to resist the temptation to boost the number of Master Balls that I have in Heartgold. Unfortunately the PS3 Browser has limited input. So short posts
  9. I like the Dragonite as a Pokemon, though I admit it does not look that impressive. The fact that it does not bear much resemblance to its previous evolutions is not that unusual I suppose... look at Magikarp and Gyarados. My Dragonite is now Lv 82. I won my Dratini in the Game place in Goldenrod. Took ages to get the coins.
  10. I think I have every standard Pokemon game (DS, GBA and GB for either Europe or US). Though I have only played the game since it first appeared on the GBA. I have a Gameboy Color, GBA, GBA SP, DS, DS Lite and DSi. I have a tendency to get distracted and sometimes not complete them! I am currently at 12 badges on HG and 3 on SS. I do have some of the spinoff Pokemon games (DS, GBA, GC, N64). Not sure whether I will ever use Pokesave, but I do have an AR for my DS and discovered that I must have used an AR with my Emerald game (I was doing an import into HG so decided to catch some Pokemon for the purpose). I have played with AR codes, rewriting existing ones to change specific items on my Bag or quantities of an item. I found I had not got far enough in Pearl to get a Lucky Egg on a Chansey from the Pokemon Mansion so changed an Oval Stone entry in my bag to become 2 Lucky Eggs! I usually use my PS3 for browsing which does have limitations (and a current habit of losing Cookies!).
