  1. @Shady Guy Jose pretty much explained it. Every mon only has space for one ability in their pkx file. Additionally, were you referring to this? It's just to show which ability number is tagged. You can accidentally create illegal ability and ability number combinations. For example, Pikachu with Static would be Static - 1 (1 referring to Ability 2), However with hacked mode, it could make the illegal combination of Static - 0
  2. How did you obtain this "save"? While it *looks* like it has the hallmarks of being a save, certain things are missing, like your trainer name. (I compared it to one of mine, to show an example) If I had to guess, you used state saves on Citra and never actually saved in-game. One has to save in-game properly, in order to get proper saves.

  4. @ExTBlueNoVa upload the Pikachu.
  5. Masuda method works on language, not region.
  6. and unblock the plugin. Right click on the file, click properties. @Darkfiggy just a suggestion, you may wanna include the installation part on the github. Not everyone uses plugins (and despite the info being everywhere, this may be their first time coming across one)
  7. We don't work for GF/TPCi, so ultimately only they would know. I guess they won't, simply because it'll require more computing power to run constant checks for every user that deposits a mon into their servers and whatnot, which in a roundabout way translates to more $$ to maintain servers. But I'm just a nobody in their world. It's not like I really know. In terms of future proofing, just have no illegal mons, and you'll probably be fine. In terms of them taking Pokemon generating more seriously so that their GTS isn't a cesspool of hacks, GTS has been around since Gen 4. It's now Gen 8. Granted, while past performance is not indicative of future performance, it's been 4 gens. If each gen is 3 years, it's been 12 years. In my mind (hint: personal opinion) they only care about selling games, and maybe pushing extra merchandise. It does not fully matter what happens to the game once it's been sold (cause they've already earned the money for it. They'll probably only earn extra money from you by pushing merch, or selling future games). While they do want to maintain legitimacy for their tournaments, GTS isn't a part of that.
  8. The other way round. For Gen 5 shiny Genesect, we know the English ones are hacked for sure, and definitely not legal. (i.e: there's no legitimate way to receive a non-Japanese Gen 5 shiny Genesect) Ultimately, it is just that specific legality checks for it were not programmed (on PKHeX's end) It would be a massive undertaking to program language/region info (for some later games; some events are region locked, others aren't) for every event mon. Hence why such things aren't implemented. It's like how some English characters may appear legal on Gen 3 wild Japanese mons, but they definitely aren't legal cause there's no option to legitimately type them in-game. (Japan Gen 3 uses different English characters)
  9. I know this ain't my thread, but asking you for more details would prove to be advantageous to the OP. Can you explain "can't seem to figure out how to use it"? Can't install it, thus cannot seem to figure out how to use it? Do not know which option to use when it opens up on PKHeX, thus cannot seem to figure out how to use it? You thought you clicked on the right option but it seems like nothing happened, thus cannot seem to figure out how to use it? Please explain which step of the process you're potentially stuck at. (regardless if it is any or none of the above, elaborate on your circumstance) As you can see "cannot seem to figure out how to use it?" can be used in every step. :3
  10. To begin with, don't create from scratch, import a wonder card then edit the valid details. What you mentioned doesn't hold true for all generations, but at least for Gen 5, language for Shiny Genesect HAS to be Japanese, as we know it was only distributed locally, and local distributions for Gen 5 restricts the language that can receive it. However, PKHeX likely doesn't flag it, because that data isn't on the Wonder card. We know that it was distributed only for Japanese cartridges locally, but that data isn't written on the wonder card, so they can't track it. [Also note: Gen 5 does not have region data on it. Region data was only implemented starting with 3DS era] Past Gen 6, it can have any region data on it, simply because it can be transferred up on any region 3DS, regardless of the language of cart. Just know the language doesn't change. (Technically, the wonder card itself shows Genesect can have any language and languaged nickname as per the receiving party, but we know it can only be Japanese, as it can only be received by a person with a Japanese language cart. Think of this as metadata; data beyond actual data. We know this in real life, but it's not noted down as data on the wonder card.) The label has nothing to do with region settings. It's purely for language. Don't confuse language and region settings, partner. Name changing: Unlikely. Name changing probably only occurs if it had an illegal nickname, but event mons typically can't be nicknamed by the player, hence it cannot gain an illegal nickname that would result in its name being fixed. Not to mention if it did have an illegal nickname (who knows how), it would already be fixed in Transporter -> Bank, which that transfer uses the language of the mon itself. So there wouldn't be a chance for it to be fixed in Bank -> HOME. (FYI, for such a name fix in HOME, would likely match language settings of HOME, not region settings. Region settings practically influence nothing in a Pokemon's data.) [I reckon the story where you heard the shiny Genesect's name being fixed, belong to a badly hacked shiny Genesect, that was hacked into Gen 6, Gen 7, or Gen 8 (past the Transporter->Bank) stage] Why not being flagged? already explained. How does it change names? for events extremely unlikely, but if it does: already explained.
  11. It could be the version of sysbot that the server is using can't handle GO mons, or sysbot in general needs to be updated to handle GO mons.
  12. The error exists cause you shinified it wrong. Stuff from Max Lair needs their xor to = to 1. Control+Click the shiny button to set valid PID.
  13. Think of it this way: in the personal_info (the game info in the ROM), this is what is written for Zekrom Teravolt (1), Teravolt (2), Teravolt (HA). It's important to note ability number is part of the Pokemom data structure. So while the ability is all Teravolt (and it would show up in game), the ability number is incorrect, hence why PKHeX flags it as illegal.
  14. Following the vibe of your title: YES, YOUR CART BEING A COPY LIKELY MEANS YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DUMP THE SAVE PROPERLY, SO YOU CANNOT USE THAT FILE WITH PKHEX.
  15. @Hello, it's me! @ICanSnake mind telling me specifically where @ReignOfComputer's shiny Melmetal you guys claimed were at? Gimme a link or something.
  16. yeah Melmetal (non-shiny) can be obtained pretty much at any date, but Melmetal (shiny) can only be obtained at certain dates. So shinifying a non-shiny Melmetal (with the wrong dates, i.e. non-shiny encounter dates) will cause the legality error. [If the date on the non-shiny Melmetal overlaps with a date that Meltan can be encountered shiny, it will not prompt the legality issue] For starters, you're tagging people wrong. When you type "@" in the reply box, followed by the person's name, the "tagging" menu should appear. For example: Once the profile appears in the menu, you just gotta click it (to correctly tag the person. If you don't correctly tag the person, they won't get a notification.) Well, I don't recommend creating mons from scratch. Either grab a legal pk8 of a shiny Melmetal, or use the GP1->LGPE->SWSH method to get a legal pk8 generated by PKHeX. Alternatively, if you want to shinify an existing Melmetal, just make sure the date obtained matches a date that Meltan could be caught shiny in GO. [Also, my GO transfers upload, as well as my Shiny Living Dex upload, has legal shiny Melmetal]
  17. I've already messaged him about it. yeap :3
  18. I've informed for appropriate authorities after verifying the veracity of your statement. Now sit and wait.
  19. @Pocket Monsters Then your earlier screenshot was misleading. Anyhow, @Kaphotics I'm able to replicate the issue.
  20. Alternatively trade for a Galarian Ponyta on HOME GTS. There's many entries there.
  21. But doesn't it usually wear a costume? From what I can tell, it is no longer wearing a costume. Are you able to remove the costume in-game? (also your description of female Pikachu issue is not accurate.)
  22. It just means your old Melmetal was probably always illegal to begin with, it's just PKHeX wasn't updated to deal with it. So you can use an old PKHeX, but just know your Melmetal would still be illegal, even if it appears legal on an older version. New PKHeX added various ball (LGPE vs GO->HOME) and date legality for GO mons. So that probably is the issue you're facing. Wanna make a Melmetal, then make sure all conditions are satisfied. The GP1->LGPE->SWSH is probably your best bet, since the date of capture is correct. You just need to ensure the other details, such as ball legality, matches LGPE's usable balls. If you don't know how GO->LGPE IVs work, you probably don't wanna mess with them. Since GO legality is complicated and tedious, once you make a legal Meltan and Melmetal, don't make anything else that originated from GO. That would probably save you a lot of headache. :3
  23. Your Pikachu is Cosplay without the clothing. Is it even possible to take off the clothing?
