  1. Really nice tutorial. The program is quite user friendly in my experience, and so long as you read the OP in the official thread/ the replies in the official thread you should get along just fine. Though it's nice to see everything done step by step, like you've shown above. :)

And you speak English better than most of the English people that I know (And I come from England! lol)

  2. I'd say use one of the Rotom forms. They can directly counter Gyarados, and keep physical Mence and Scizor in check. After you rip Gyarados apart, watch your opponent send in Scizor. Then burn him with Will O Wisp, set up Reflect, and laugh at how much Pursuit does to you. You'll probably be KOed by the end of it all, but you'll have taken down both your opponent's Scizor and Gyarados.

Sounds like a fine idea. I used the cut one quite recently (I think it looks the best lol) I may go back to using that. Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the semi rate there Random .. Gotta say I'm honoured; I've not yet had the privileged of your bluntness :P. Don't worry about the rest of the rate I'm trying out a bunch of stuff at the moment as it is ... such as an anger point Tauros for some ungodly reason lol. But most of the set remains.

    Currently trying:

Same Weavile set - Tried loads of other vairants and sets, and none just do it quite so well for me.

Gyarados - Changed to a bulky variant (Ddance/Waterfall/Stone Edge/ Taunt - though may change for substitute) AND the wacan berry really works, Especially now that I've gone for the bulky set, If I can get in before SR (Bulky gyarados is meant for early game I hear) that doesnt become an issue, Ddance in the face of the lead, take the counters electric move, Ddance throw it and start giving it hell. To each their own though eh? ;)

Jolteon - Listened to some people, threw on choice specs, and it's not doing that great, may switch it out for something else (Feel free to give me ideas for that spot, as long as it provides good use with some other pokemon)

Lanturn - New special wall/Parafusion. It's more to my taste than blissey and, couple with the following pokemon, works wonders.

Weezing- Gone for this over miltank for the time being. Simply being because I need the initial defence a lot more atm, and will o wisp support is really a godsend. Plus it really hurts to have two fighting weak pokemon :/.(Though I still challenge anyone to fault miltank after trying it a couple times :P)

Tauros/Ursaring/Kingler/Other kinda gimmicky sweeper preferably from the first two gens to match everyone else on the team - Simply because it's nice to have a bit of colour in a world full of Salamence, Scizor, Tyranitar, Metagross, Breloom and Togekiss.

Once I got something new I'll update the OP... again... or maybe even just make a new thread. lol

  4. I did it on diamond. Took me three days and a hell of a lot of coffee, but I did it. Short of that I guess you could catch every pokemon in game (Via the action replay code that allows you to catch any pokemon in correlation to the amount of master balls, I'll edit this post with that code later), and then release them all to make room for your platinum pokemon.

    Here's that code:

    :Battle The Pokemon You Want

::[L+R] You get 493 Master Ball and 100 Ultra Ball then Hold L for Encounter

:::Master Ball Equal to PKMN Index Number, Ultra Ball equal to PKMN level ! Discard the quantity you desired to meet repsective PKMN and level. Hold L for Encounter

  5. Making pokemon with pokesav and then implementing them into your save file isn't a legitimate way of obtaining a pokemon. So when you generate a pokemon into your save, be it the box or party, you have bypassed the whole catching/hatching/trading phase and as such the pokemon isn't added to the pokedex. The best way to combat this would be to put every pokemon you create into an egg and then hatch the egg, this way the game recognises the implementation of the pokemon.

  6. dude honestly you are aware that no double sashing is standard correct? item clause isn't but no double sashing is considered cheating

This is for shoddy battle friendly + ladder matches alike. Double sashing ... hell, sextuple sashing is ok. I guess the 'standard' differs between Wifi, shoddy and VGC.

  7. Psht... well were to start. I got an open mind when it comes to music but I'm very picky, being a musician myself the song/band has be perfect. As such I listen to a lot of bands that a lot of people haven't of, because I'm conatantly searching high and low for something awesome (and believe me, that isn't an easy job these days :/).

Alternate rock, Hard Rock and progressive rock/metal is where I tend to get my musical kicks though... I usually Hate all the mainstream sounding music, regardless of it being rock metal pop or whatever (paradoxically I hate when my favourite bands don't get their time to shine though :S)... Though lately a kinda pop rock band called Motion City Soundtrack has really taken my fancy Lately :D.

    I'll usually like a band/artist if :

    • They have a distinguished vocalist (screaming doesn't count ... though if they can do that too then ... meh cool)
    • They are talented
    • The memebers are likable (I know it's silly, but if the guys a Dbag I'm gunna hate the band ... Pete Wents springs to mind)
    • The don't sound like a 1000 other bands who do exactly what they do but better
    • Aren't completely force fed to me (That ruined kings of leon for me...I can only hear 'Use Somebody' So many times in a year ...let alone twice every 10 minutes)
    • The music just basically sounds cool

My music library of bands and artists that I usually listen to caps at about 85 - 100, so I'll just tell you my top ten lol.

Coheed and Cambria, Tool, A perfect Circle, Fair To Midland, Cire, Karnivool, Chevelle, Incubus, Motion City Sound Track, Dredg.

I too am not a fan of over hyped classic rock, and I don't like people that can't see that some rap is talented. You 'metalheads' might scoff, but Eminem is a hell of a lyricist. Appreciate the rappers and maybe your favourite bands won't be so frowned upon ;).

  8. both (shiny)Siczor@salac berry or scyther@ life orb (I switch out so both sets used will be listed)

    naive~techinitan

    IVS: 31/31/31/28/31/31 (hp elec 59)

    evs: 120atk/138spatk/252 speed

    siczor set

    hp elec

    endure

    reversal

    bug bite or u-turn

As this scizor would appear to be the apple in your eye, I'm just wondering about the practicalities of it. I mean for instance it would only appear to be good in case of one type or gyarados set, and even then it is iffy. Also outside of gyarados what can this scizor do? against something like one of the many rotom forms or a gengar it's pretty useless and a lot of other common big hitters that scizor can usually counter. For instance you have to time the endure perfect for it to be effective (Ddance tyranitar, Ddance salamence) AND then you have to outspeed.

Similarly how does it fair against a Gyarados that already has a dragon dance under its belt, the salac berry boost still won't be enough to outspeed it. :/ I dunno it's interesting and can catch people off guard, I'm just not convinced.

  9. Hey welcome to the site, I hope you enjoy your stay here :D. If you need a hand with anything just ask and I'm sure someone will be willing to help :).

Shoddy battles ... well shoddy is a pokemon battle simulator sort of thing. You make your team and you pit against someone else's team. Alot like wifi play, just without the hassle of having to train your pokemon :P. Um .. there's a link somewhere, just google it and come join in at the project pokemon server. :D

  10. Ok I didn't have much time earlier but I'll give you a little ratey rate now :) edits will be in colour of some sort.

I am currently on a mission to create one of the most powerful

competitive wi-fi teams out there. Of course, the topic is up for

debate and the line-up is under construction but all ratings/feedback/

    improvements are appreciated :D

Note: Max EV's doesn't tell us much so I'll recommend an EV set.. just basic EV spreads really lol

    Metagross @ Shuca Berry

    Nature: Adamant

    Ability: Clear Body

    EVs: Set one 252 HP/ 236 Atk/ 20 Spe. Set two: HP 112/ 252 Atk/ 12 Def/ 132 Spe

    Moveset: Stealth Rock, Earthquake,Meteor Mash/bullet punch, Explosion/Agility

Cool lead, there's pokemon that can do the job better (aerodactyl for instance - also Azelf, but you don't like legendaries so forget I said anything). I put Bullet punch there as an alternative as there are a few pokes that you can KO with a combination of earthquake and bullet punch before taking any damage yourself :). You could also make a sort of agiligross lead by throwing on agility, set up stealth rocks, use agility then have some fun until you get taken down.

If you keep explosion then use EV set one with bullet punch, If you go for Agility use Ev set two with meteor mash.

    Espeon @ Life orb/Choice Scarf/Choice specs

    Nature:Timid/Modest

    Ability: Synchronize

    EVs: 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Hp

    Moveset:

Life orb set - Calm Mind, Psychic, Signal Beam, Grassknot/Shadow Ball/Yawn

Choice Set - Psychic, Signal Beam, Grass Knot, Baton Pass/Trick

As you said there are more efficient psychic types but I too have a love of espeon :). Your original set, though quite good, isn't very practical as no one will stay in long enough for you to put them asleep and then use dream eater. People usually switch after yawn, so dream eater is kind of just taking up space.

The Life orb set is quite simple, come in on something like an anticipated focus blast as it's not very effective and espeon has ok Special defence, or come in on something that will cause the opponant to switch, such as an un-subbed breloom or weakened fighting type (most if not all you outspeed anyway) and use calm mind on the switch, and then go to town with Psychic and Signal beam. These two moves are walled by the steel types so if you have access to hidden power put hidden power ground or fighting in the last slot. If not you have the choice of grass knot or shadow ball. Grass knot after a calm mind will do some decent damage to bulky water types, shadow ball .. doesn't help much but is an option, or you could use yawn on the steel types to force a switch so you can boost some more.

The Choice band set is simpler still but again limited to it's special coverage without the hidden powers. if you use choice scarf you will use espeon as a revenge killer of sorts, whereas the specs will give espeon massive damage out put. Again switch in on a weak special attack and kill with one of your decired attacks. For the last slot you can either put batton pass for scouting purposes or use trick to cripple pokemon like blissey. If you go for choice scarf make sure you give espeon the modest nature for more fire power, and with specs go for a timid nature as you want to be outspeeding as much as possible. :)

    Salamence @ Life Orb

    Nature: Adamant

    Ability: Intimidate

    EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP

Moveset: Dragon Dance, Outrage, Earthquake, Roost

Dragon Dance Salamence is a beast and as such you don't want to be giving him special moves such as dragon pulse. The strategy is simple, switch into anything that you will force to switch out, use dragon dance and just go to town with stab outrage or earthquake. You could use dragon claw if you don't like the idea of being locked into outrage and then the confusion. Though Outrage is better for its sheer power. Then Roost away any damage taken. If you're worried about getting walled by the likes of forretress you could put fire blast in place of roost and run a naive nature

    Lucario @ Choice Band

    Nature: Jolly

    Ability: Steadfast

    EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4HP

Moveset: Close Combat, Extreme Speed, Crunch, Ice Punch

Choice band Lucario is really something terrifying if used right :). You can use him as a revenge killer by using Extreme speed to pull apart any weakened foes. And the rest is self explanatory really. Crunch is used if you expect a ghost to switch in, and ice punch is for dragons. On an added note if you go for this choice band set then you might want to run the life orb espeon set, as you don't really want to have two choice locked pokemon.

    Blissey @ Leftovers/Focus Sash

    Nature: Bold

    Ability: Serene Grace

    EVs: 232 HP/ 252 Def/ 24 SpDef

Moveset: Toxic/ Thunderwave, Softboiled, Counter/ Heal Bell, Ice Beam/ Seismic Toss

I like the concept of this blissey, as it will draw in physical attackers, why not make them pay for their eagerness to strike :P. However you could simply run the standard Special Wall set if you find that your counter set isn't doing you any favours (This set would be the moves in blue above). Thunderwave would really help your lucario as he struggles to outspeed some pokes). If you keep the counter set make sure to use focus sash, just so a boosted lucario/scizor infernape doesnt OHKO you before you get the chance to counter. If you go for the standard special Wall Slap leftovers on.

    Kingdra @ Shell Bell

    Nature: Jolly

    Ability: Swift Swim

    Max EVs/IVs

Moveset: Dragon Dance, Dive, Thunderbolt, Draco Meteor

I think you have brilliant physical capabilities as is, so this kingdra is a little redundant in coverage and place on the team. I think you would benefit more from a starmie on this team :)

    Starmie @ leftovers/

    Nature: Timid

    Ability: Natural Cure

    EVs: 136 HP/ 156 Def/ 216 Spe

Moveset: Rapid Spin, Ice Beam/Surf, Thunder Bolt, Recover

This set is more of a team player than anything else. This saves your salamence getting hurt from stealth rock and in general saves your other pokemon becoming torn apart by spikes and toxic spikes. If that doesn't worry you then remove rapid spin and replace it with Ice beam and then you get to keep both surf and thunderbolt. Also you can then just put 252 EVs into both SpAtk and Speed.

    I hope that helps :)

    No Legendaries!!

  11. For your Lucario, I would replace Sword Dance with Bulk Up. Since Bulk Up raises you Sp.Atk/Sp.Def while Sword Dance only raises Atk. Plus Lucario is a Sp.Atk type of pokemon.

Bulk up is atk + def. And swords dance is better for the one turn set up of doubled attack. which Lucario loves due to his vast physical movepool :)

Also that lucario has both choice band and swords dance... pick one or the other. I would recommend life orb + swords dance personally.

  12. Ok well if you are using Pokemon Soul Silver (U) (the american version) then pokesav generated codes won't work, as to my knowledge, those codes are meant for the (J) version. There is a way to transcribe an Japanese code to an American code... but I don't know how to do it :/. I'm sure someone else can be of some help or maybe you could search around on how to do this.
