Pokemons from another regions in Firered

How can I legaly add pokemons not from Kanto region like feraligatr or girafarig? Error screen shows: "Encounter cannot be traded to the active trainer", I'm playing on Switch and I already have national pokedex

How can you legally obtain the pokemon without cheating? The only games available are FireRed and LeafGreen; if RSE/Colosseum/XD do not exist for transferring in, then you can't obtain that species.

Kaphotics They are in the in-game Pokédex. NPC trainers also use them. Plus, Google says they can be obtained through trading. I want my PKHeX not to flag them as illegal.

And how exactly would those games obtain them in trade? There is NO other game that FireRed and LeafGreen can connect to from the Nintendo Switch. They cannot interact with GBA consoles. They are isolated, they cannot receive foreign species, hence them not being legally obtainable. Being present in the save file is 100% cheating/not-legal, hence the message, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Requirement for “legal” is that the Mon is indistinguishable from one obtained via legitimate means.

In this case, as VC RSE isn’t released, and the mons you’re thinking of is cannot be caught nor received in VC FRLG, that means that there’s no legitimate way for you to get it.

Which in turn means there’s currently no legal copy you could make.

Something can be in the National Dex, but there being no legitimate way to obtain it. In Gen 3, RS launched first, prior to FRLG ColoXD release, you’re stuck with the Hoenn Dex, with no hopes of getting Kanto starters. Also pretty much at the start of every Gen, Mythicals can’t be obtained despite being in the National Dex, because the event isn’t released. Being in the National Dex isn’t a metric that “it must exist right now” at the beginning of a generation. 

 

We’re at the start of the era of VC Gen 3. So not everything is obtainable at the moment. Hope that clears things up.

 

edit: also if you cannot wait, hack one in now and breed it (for mons that can breed). The one that was bred and hatched, while would still be illegal now, would likely be legal down the line.
