Vegeta Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 In pokesav, the limit is 999 can i break the limit? i wanna make it over 9000!
Poryhack Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 No you can't. Its hard coded into the game. It's not actually. The limit is simply the 2-byte space that stores the number. 2 bytes can hold a value up to 65,535, which is the highest you can hack a stat to be.
Neo Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 It isn't that hard as Poryhack said, You just have to know what your doing.
Zowayix Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 It's not actually. The limit is simply the 2-byte space that stores the number.2 bytes can hold a value up to 65,535, which is the highest you can hack a stat to be. True. However, the game only displays 3 digits, so if you did hack the stat to 65535, it would display as "?35" where the "?" is either a question mark or a glitch character. Similar to the R/B MissingNo. glitch that allowed over 99 of an item - it displayed a glitch block in the "tens" place since it's trying to display 129 in two digits. The only way I know to do this is to hex-edit the stat value in, then use some program (not sure if Pokesav can do this) to fix the checksum, and only the checksum. (Note: Pokesav apparently does not fix only the checksum. It might also force stat values back to 999.)
