SA2 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 New patch can cause a card to fail and erase most things, and to not be recognised by computers anymore. Use at own risk.
PsychoCarebear Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Ive been using it since it was released, without any issues at all. chances are that your flash memory failed at about the same time as you updated it with the patched HGSS. my old 1GB kingston microsd card failed while i was playing pokemon platinum, but it was unrelated to the ROM.
eighty4 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 New patch can cause a card to fail and erase most things, and to not be recognised by computers anymore. Use at own risk. No it can't.
SA2 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) No it can't. Uh, yes, it can. It happened to me. Luckily I fixed it though. This is what happened; http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=174723 Edited September 23, 2009 by SA2 fags fagging fags
PsychoCarebear Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Uh, yes, it can.It happened to me. Luckily I fixed it though. This is what happened; http://www.gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=174723 That wasnt caused by the patch. I've seen that happen on old USB flash drives. It's just simply that it's failing, or you pulled it out of the computer when windows was still trying to access it. (ie. without safely removing" it first)
SA2 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 That wasnt caused by the patch. I've seen that happen on old USB flash drives. It's just simply that it's failing, or you pulled it out of the computer when windows was still trying to access it. (ie. without safely removing" it first) It happened at the same exact moment the ROM was done transferring into the flashcart. I didn't unplug it from my computer, I didn't do anything. Just added the ROM. I know it was the ROM, because something like this has happened to me before. It's something with the file. I'm not going to argue with this anymore, I know what I know. Not worth arguing or carrying on about.. It can just be opinion. I know for sure though that from now on I'll back up my files before testing these patches.
eighty4 Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 It wasn't the patch nor the ROM. Neither have the ability to do that - at all.
KazoWAR Posted September 23, 2009 Author Posted September 23, 2009 These things happen all the time with flash based memory cards. The chances of the cause being the patched rom is very slim, but copying the rom could have caused it due to it just happening at random like always.
tjheartnote Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 So KazoWAR any updates on the v6 patch?
BRuff Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 eNDryptS doesn't seem to work with this patch either :\ After getting the Gamefreak screen, I get a white screen.
_Retro_ Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Thanks alot, SA2. Still wondering, could anyone send me a pre-patched soulsilver rom? Patched with the english patch, the no freeze patch, and the anti-piracy patch/cheat? I have a mac and it won't let me use a patcher. There is pretty much no way to use the english patch unlees someone pre patches it for me... Or if a mac user could direct me toward a mac Lunar IPS or some other easy patcher. I have made a patcher for macs. It should work for all games, including HG/SS. http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4908
PsychoCarebear Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 When you have a save file already, and go to start a new game, what's the message and choice it gives you? It's in Japanese, so i can't read it. Might be good to translate that in your next patch, as well as mystery gift/etc?
eighty4 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 So KazoWAR any updates on the v6 patch? Making multiple accounts to ask the same question doesn't make Kazo read it any quicker.
v7znay Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 Making multiple accounts to ask the same question doesn't make Kazo read it any quicker.
June Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I'm going to laugh so hard at Nintendo when you release a finished patch before they do with their team that consists of far more people. Keep at this, it's looking great and your progress is amazing! GO GO GO.
Dash Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 tis tru all by himself he wil translate it and show up nintendo i cant wait really its ftw
Chancety Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 i have a problem with the heart gold patch v5 on my r4 card. When i start a new everything works fine i can battle and talk to people. But when i save the game and try to load it, it works but everytime i battle the screen goes black any one think they can help.
tjheartnote Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 I was only the first to ask the question. Rest assured we are both separate users.
Demo123 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I don't know if this has been said, but, on the Acekard2i, I was on holidays when version 4 and 5 got released, so I missed 4, not sure if that matters, but, now, after I have patched my pre-patched with version 3 patch, and try to play it, it goes to a black screen. It also does this when I tried it with a clean rom.
Daneshi Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Have you installed BOTH patches (The Rudolph one AND the version 3)? If not there is your problem. It doesn't matter that you missed 4, just patch a clean rom with the version 5 patch.
sitedagger Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 did you try the cheat code that lets you go beyond player creation? Kazo put it up on first page!
eighty4 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 If you use AKAIO, you don't need a patch.
Temeez Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Wow, KazoWAR your doing super great job I hope you finish it ^.^
