Patch 2d is wonderful, I am having one major problem though. Whenever I open the PokeGear, my game freezes at a black screen. This makes it impossible to progress past obtaining the PokeDex.

It still SOMETIMES freezes up so far, but I'm still not convinced it's not incompetence on Nintendo's part.

I too have experienced the freezing, but after the patch, nothing so far. (knock on wood)

I heard it was anti-piracy blocks built in the game which causes the freezing.

edit: forgot to mention. for the rudolph patch. make a map, put the zip in there. unzip it there, put the one rom you want patched in there. double click the patch and give it a minute or two. needs to be a clean rom.

I'm rather new to patching ROMs, so I have a question. After executing the patch, the result is a .BAK file - what do I do with this? Does the patch also alter the original .NDS file too, or do I need to do something with the resulting .BAK?

ignore the bak, asfar as i know it's a backup of the rom. i just delete it and it works just fine.

My game freezes 5-10mins into the game.. is there any way of fixing this or even making the that period longer?

Im playing my pokemon heart gold on a flashcard by the way, if that makes a difference

what do you mean by freeze? blackscreen? or actual freezing?

if it's the latter they're fairly rare (atleast to me) i've gotten one in the whole day.

what flashcard? i'm using an acekard 2.1 and it's doing GREAT! but without the cheat code i got massive blackscreening.

Well, sometimes when going into a new place, in the beginning of a trainer battle, and sometimes even while running around.

AR codes dont seem to work.

I thought it was a very common problem?

you can check your settings. put the sound quality lower (not off though, in platinum it caused game to freeze after fight) try putting the emulation speed up. though a lot depends on your computer D: try and close some other programs?

It just freezes, i save the game every 5mins and carry on fromf where i left off. Its sooo annoying, im like a couple of hours into the game by playing in 7minute section

Im going to try downloading everything again but i really dont want to lose game sav.

I'm having troubles as well

The game freezes during certain points. A full out freeze. Sometimes it does weird things like make the menu black, get rid of the pictures under the text in the menu, erase half of a map, etc.

Making it bloody hard to get Entei >.>

For my HeartGold JAP version, the anti-piracy freeze gets worse little by little...first it freezes after 9 minutes of gameplay, then 2 minutes, then it started freezing after a few seconds today, that's why I got the patch...to be honest, I didn't really want to get it since I already made it very far into the storyline, but the patch seems to be working fine, and most important parts are in English, so its pretty cool.
