dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Ive been trying to save my pokemon on to my platinum version but every time I try the pokekon don't save onto my rom please help if anyone knows what could be the problem.
Kaphotics Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 you have to "set" the pokemon back into its place after you edit it. once you're done editing, save your file and put it back in your cart.
krskull Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Basic question: how have you been saving the edits? It may have something to do with that.
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Basic question: how have you been saving the edits? It may have something to do with that. I have been saving over my .ds1 save file
Guest Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 That's a save state; Try saving in-game and editing the .dsv
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 That's a save state; Try saving in-game and editing the .dsv something im trying is saving it then reloading it in pokegen to save time and the pokemon never show back up
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Have you tried Export Backup Memory? And how would I do this
evandixon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 In Desmume, File -> Export Backup Memory. In version 0.9.7, this sometimes made a difference for me. In version 0.9.9, it works with just the .dsv.

dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Of DeSmuMe, not Pokegen. How would I find that in desmume:bidoof:
evandixon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 That's not the point. Just use File -> Export Backup Memory and see if it works better. And don't forget to (in Pokegen) Right Click on a Pokémon slot and click Set.

evandixon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 After editing, use File > Import Backup Memory in DeSmuMe.
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 I tried that but it only brought me to the home screen of the pokemon game
evandixon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I tried that but it only brought me to the home screen of the pokemon game 1. Import backup memory 2. Select the file you just edited with Pokegen. 3. Your edits should be visible in-game.
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 1. Import backup memory2. Select the file you just edited with Pokegen. 3. Your edits should be visible in-game. Ok this is what I did I started a game. got to the nearest pokemon center so I wouldn't have to again I save the game export the backup memory. plug it into pokegen in this it does not show the starter since that is the only pokemon im using. Should it show the starter through pokegen?
Kaphotics Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 1. Save game ingame. 2. Export backup memory 3. In pokegen, load the sav from step 2. 4. Do edits, setting pokemon back into their slots when you are done editing them. 5. Save the sav in PokeGen. 6. Import backup memory, select the save file from step 5. 7. Reset emulation 8. Enter game.
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 It should show whatever Pokemon you have. When I do this like export it is there supposed to be a file already there or make a new one?
evandixon Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Export to a file that doesn't exist, import from a file that does exist.
dsxl1026 Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Is it supposed to restart you every time?
