terriblewaffles Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 is it possible to edit the gamesync ID? i would like to start a new game, but i don't want to start over with the dreamworld again.
BlackShark Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I don't think that this is possible. Your savefile with your OT, ID and number of badges is registered on your account at the globallink website. If you "transfered" the gamesync ID to your new safefile with new OT, ID etc, it will probably only cause errors.
terriblewaffles Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 eh, i'd still like to give it a go i have a second account i use just for my flashcart that i don't mind testing it on
evandixon Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I can try to do this, but I'll need someone to provide a save file from before the game sync ID was entered, and another immediately after it was entered (NO other differences besides perhaps play time and of course checksums).
codemonkey85 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 terriblewaffles, please upload your save file and tell us your current Game Sync ID. I bet it's like the Friend Codes, which use a CRC8 checksum chopped to 7 bits as the last two digits of the code. (http://www.caitsith2.com/ds/fc.php)
evandixon Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I don't think we even need to figure that out. Just figure out how to undo entering the game sync ID, then have the user re-enter it from the front screen. It might work better that way (depending on how hard it is to remove the game sync ID)
BlackShark Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 If you need save files you can use these. One is saved before receiving gamesync ID and the other is saved immediately after that, no other differences. I hope it doesn't matter that I created them on Japanese version and received gamesync on English version.
evandixon Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Still working on it. Technical info: One does not simply remove the game sync ID (with what I've found so far). It is stored in the following offsets: US: 19418 1AA1C 3F418 40A1C 77474 40A00 Japan: 19418 1AA1C 3D418 3EA1C (May be more; need a completely different Japanese save to be sure) When the value starting at these offsets is 00 00 00 00, the gamesync id becomes AAAAAAA2EE. When it is set to 01 01 01 01, the gamesync id becomes BJACSASLGH. That's all for now. I may continue later. Also, the Pokestar Studios data is erased when writing to the US offsets. Don't know if I did something wrong.
