Savagen Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 So I got an ARDS today. I was gonna use it for my plat, since I can't take risks with Diamond. Now, when I try to update/connect AR with code manager, they can't detect each other. I'm using a 32 Vista laptop if that helps. Please help, this is a brand new AR. :frown: And I even tried resetting. *Though I added platinum afterwards. Do I have to reset again?* ---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:40 PM ---------- Also, will it work better with Windows XP?
Kaarosu Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I can't say for sure but I think AR is not compatible with Vista, but maybe it is, does it have any options that let you update the software? If so update maybe it'll fix it.
Savagen Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Updating Vista, or the AR? >_< I wasn't sure if AR worked well with Vista either. It downloads the software, but it just won't let me update, nor will it recognize my DS.
Kaarosu Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Updating the AR.. but it seems it isn't working so that more than likely means that it's not compatible with Vista =/
Savagen Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Well, at least I somewhat know what the issue is. I'll try to connect with an XP computer tomorrow. >_< Thanks for your help.
Jiggy-Ninja Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I've gotten the Code Manager to work just fine with my Vista laptop.
Savagen Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 I've gotten the Code Manager to work just fine with my Vista laptop. Gah....that just raises more questions... D; Do you know any good solutions? I really wanna use pokesav, but I can't if AR wants to be a jerk. :[
TheHalfBloodPrince Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 It does. The newer ARs had a problem with the cord. It had older software than the disc. Here is a nice little guide to fix it. The one I used was better, but I can't find that guide anymore. http://www.computersight.com/Operating-Systems/Windows/Get-Action-Replay-DS-to-Work-on-Vista.190913
xorhash Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Otherwise, you might want to take a look at NitroHax. It works with ARDS codes, but is a homebrew application and only depends on a simple XML file which can be edited with a text editor.
YuzuruHitokiri Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I've gotten the manager to handle codelists, subscriptions, and code transfers but no software updates yet and I'm still running Vista. I had the same problem as you; what you need to do is get a newer software version for your PC. I don't know how new the version that Soldjermon put up in the RAM Editing section so you could try that or do what I did (found a link to a "hidden FAQ section on the codejunkies site" that has the software available as a direct download).
evandixon Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 but it seems it isn't working so that more than likely means that it's not compatible with Vista =/ Do you have Vista? It actually works better on Vista...
YuzuruHitokiri Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 I agree with evandixon, once you get it running on Vista, it's way faster than on XP. (Just a hassle to set up...)
