ReignOfComputer
Saving identical files in PokeSav and PokeGen in PC Storage format (136 Bytes) gives me different values in 0x07 and 0x3B. I understand that these are the Checksum and the Nickname flag Hex. My question is which one has the correct value? Thanks.
Delta Blast Burn
Pokegen always sets the nickname flag if the name is not all caps species name, in pokesav you have to set it manually. The checksum is kinda like a total of all the bytes. Edited November 11, 2010 by Delta Blast Burn chacksum
ReignOfComputer
The Pokemon I saved are from an unpatched version of Pokemon Black, however, so the names are in Japanese as they should be. So, the nicknamed flag shouldn't be there, correct? o_O
Delta Blast Burn
correct but, iirc pokegen only recognizes english names as non-nicknamed.
ReignOfComputer
I see. Hope that gets fixed.
Codr
correct but, iirc pokegen only recognizes english names as non-nicknamed. It uses the currently selected program language to determine what Pokemon nicknames should be valid. In the case of English, it thinks the Romanized names are non-nicknamed only. (Something that shouldn't have been done for sure.) As has been stated elsewhere, there's a nicknamed checkbox in beta 16. (It's getting close, btw.) ibac
if possible, an auto-set for the player's name; ID #; and Secret ID # Edited December 15, 2010 by ibac
Codr
if possible an auto-set for the player's name; ID #; and Secret ID # It was beyond random of you to put that in this thread, but I'll add it to the list of things to do, as it's relatively simple. AllyKat
Is there any easy way of JUST editting the 0x3B of .pkm files? (I am assuming from 1 for on to 0 for off.)
