Action Replay Codes For Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver

I caught a shiny Ho-oh using the shiny code so it works with stationary Pokemon. I deposited my shiny Ho-oh in the PC I saved the game and turned off the code. When I tried looking at it again it wasn't shiny anymore. Anyone know why this happened?
