No problem, yeah I already thought this would be the case, that's why I asked. It's a shame really, sure the story is short, but it's a (free,) nice, short and cute story. I just don't get why they only make these promotions available through certain limited methods which are only available in certain specific countries.

Unfortunately, it's only available in certain countries (US only?) and in order to read it you have to use Apple's iBook or Amazon's Kinde. However, I got a hold on a copy and converted it to .pdf so that nobody will be limited by these rules. I am willing to share it here, but before I do I wanted to ask if it's OK? It is free after all, but as @evandixon says this is likely temporarily and it will presumably cost money at some point in the future.

New Detective Pikachu incoming. Found it on the Japanese server. Top image is static, but the bottom is scrolling. It has its own music, but I do not recognize it since I haven’t played the game yet.

@King Impoleon Could be, although we already have a Team Rocket, Team Galactic and Team Skull theme. Now that we know two Team Plasma themes are coming, the only villainous team without a theme would be Team Magma and Team Aqua. It would be cool if they also released those, but I wonder which character designs they would choose; the original or the remake variants. If it's related to Pokémon Center's Team Rainbow Rocket campaign it would probably be their original design though.

Just found out that the theme is now also uploaded to the American server, Europe will probably follow soon as well I guess. There's also a nice Champions theme of Zelda Breath of the Wild coming, for anyone who's interested.

Looks like the theme got officially announced today! It will be released this Friday, the release date of the games. No preload or eShop-only purchase is required, it will simply be available in the 3DS Theme Shop and costs $1.99 / £1.79 / €1,99.

Yeah, those files would still be considered copyrighted, but then a lot of other files on this site would technically be considered copyrighted as well. Also, I don't think you can just copyright every string/int/whatever you want. I am not a lawyer though. There was a lot of controversy about encryption keys in the past though and I don't really know what the stances about this are currently, but the impact of simply copyrighting a number would be huge. I don't think it's useful for us to get into the whole legal/illegal argument here since I don't think it would add much to this topic, but if there are any admins/mods who could shine some light on this it would be much appreciated.

Sure, that would basically be piracy and is against the rules (and law ). What I meant to say is that we maybe could add a section to the site that list all the Pokémon related 3DS themes (just like Bulbapedia and Serebii do), but then in a similar way as the C-Gear Skins list but without a download button. We would only post a screenshot/preview of the theme, similar to the images I posted in this thread. But then again this has been done already on other site, so it wouldn't add much. The only thing I meant with uploading the themes itself was in correlation with the Theme Shop shutting down eventually. When this happens, it will become legally impossible to get these themes ever again. I know I am just speculation, but if this would ever occur, I was wondering if it then was oké for us to then share the theme files on this website (just the raw body_LZ.bin and the bgm.bcstm files, not a .cia). I do not intent to break any rules or something, I just want to know where you guys would stand on this if this would ever happen?

@Cecillia If you need a list of all the 3DS themes, you can check out these lists on Bulbapedia or Serebii. I thought about making a post where I would list all Pokémon related themes with images and such, but these list have already been made so it would be kinda pointless. If there are any new upcoming Pokémon related 3DS themes, I guess I'll post about them here. Don't know if it is worth to create a new topic about, since the 3DS is kinda at the end of its life and I don't think we will get much more new Themes. Maybe we get a Crystal theme similar to the Gold and Silver ones or some other generic ones, but that will most likely be it. Don't know if it is worth anything, but it could be cool to add a section about Themes to the site, similar to the C-Gear Skins. Of course you will not be able to download the theme files itself, since you have to pay for them and stuff, but maybe we could list all themes with a preview. Although, the Theme Shop will most likely go down sometime in the future and it would be a shame if these themes get lost forever. Guess that's talk for the future though. Thoughts?

@theSLAYER The only thing we can do is wait for the official reveal and release method I guess. The theme is now also uploaded to the Japanese CDN. Hoping the US will get it as well, but I don't see why not. Edit: The Necrozma theme is now also uploaded to the the USA's CDN. Haha nice, didn't know that. Also, the pre-loads of USUM just went live in Europe and you get a free theme by doing so, but for some reason you get a generic Pikachu theme instead of this Necrozma one lol.

I think this is the best place to ask this. So I just caught all the Unown on my VC Silver, one scientist in the building at the Ruins of Alph even confirms this. Before doing any of this I made sure that when I entered the ruins for the first time, my first encounter was the letter A, so that it would look nice in my Pokédex (yes I know I’m weird). After getting the Unown Mode in my Pokédex, I started catching the Unown in alphabetical order, so that they again, looked nice when I selected the Unown Mode. I then read on this Bulbapedia page that, when you catch all 26 Unown, the list would reorganizes itself alphabetically. So from then on, I just caught all of them in a random order. But now here I am, all forms caught and while being much further in the game, and my Unown Mode list did not reorganize itself (and me and my OCD (not really) can’t handle it). Does anybody know if I am missing something? Or is the statement on the Bulbapedia page just incorrect? Guess I am going to fiddle with PKHeX and my save file for a while. Edit: Alright, thanks to @Holla!'s Pokemon Gen II save file records thread, I was quickly able to edit the order of the list and now they are alphabetically ordered just as planned, so problem solved I guess.

Cool, those are some nice freebies. Shame they did not include them in the European boxes, although maybe I shouldn't complain since the US did not receive a boxed edition at all. Glad to see they gave you a Celebi code, but I am confused why you got a Silver theme and not a Cast theme. I'm happy for you since you did not liked that one though, but maybe I shouldn't use Google Translate next time?

@theSLAYER Thanks for that screenshot, that is indeed the option I was looking for. I do appreciate your concerns, but the problem is that I don't have a second copy nor do I have a Bank subscription. I know it's just €5,- in Europe, but I am not really going to use it. I could do what I said earlier and install my cart as a digital game to get the Pikachu, but without Bank I can't transfer it (I don't have two 3DSs). In the end I will end up with a .pk7 file that I need to inject somehow. Wait, I may have found a solution though. What if, on my main save, I ask for a Ash's Pikachu on the GTS and offer a random generic route 1 Pokémon. I assume nobody wants to trade their Pikachu for it, so when go onto my other save with the Ash's Pikachu, I can intestate the trade and get the Ash's Pikachu on my main save. I do need 2 copies of the game for this of course, so I guess I will install my cart as a digital game, assuming that is safe? I just don't want my 3DS to get banned, that's my main concern and that is more impotent to me than Game Sync.

I was just wondering if it was possible to change those values, since I think it also contains the amount of times you have traded. If I could edit that, I could simulate that I got a Ash's Pikachu via trade. Although as you said, I also could have gotten one though Bank, which does not count as a trade (I think). But you are saying this function already exist in PKHeX for SuMo?, because I can't find it. XY and ORAS also had these values if I remember, don't think the older games have though. Yeah the whole NNID/eShop account/title ID/signature/cartridge header thing is probably more system launch check related rather than in-game online checks or something, but I don't know I could be wrong. Anyway, since my cart with my main save is connected to a Game Sync it is probably the best to just inject each Pikachu via PKHeX. It's the easiest and I don't risk getting a banned Game Sync (I hope). Since I don't have a Bank subscription, It's probably not worth it to do all the things I said above myself, I can just get the files here and inject those. No need to install an extra back-up of the game or something.

What I meant was that if it is legal for me to back-up my cartridge and install it as a digital titel. Sure I use it as a back-up but and that point it looks more like having a second copy. Currently I do not have a Pokémon Bank subscription, so just exporting and importing .pk7 should be fine. Although at that point I could easily just grab your files instead. Also, I don't recall PKHeX having an option to change how many times you have traded. You know those small text boxes that show up when you battle online, like how many PP ups you have used, etc. Do you know if this gets added in the future? Ok, but how does Nintendo/Pokémon then check if my digital installed back-up is legal one? I guess the ticket signature on launch or something, but maybe I shouldn't ask this on this forum. I just don't want to get in trouble.

@theSLAYER Thanks for the info. I guess the best thing I can do is inject each .pk7 variation into my main save file and make sure each OT/TID/SID is different. Or I could make a back-up of my Sun cartridge and install it as a CIA and use that to create a new save file each time. But then I kinda enter a grey area in terms legal stuff

Ah OK, sorry. Just received my European Silver boxed edition btw and yeah it literary just is a code in a box. I activated it, checked the reciet and there is a Celebi code on there! Just no code for the Silver theme though. So I guess we can conclude that if you want codes for the regular Gold and Silver themes you have to buy the game directly from the eShop in NA and EU.

No problem! Yeah these apps are really useful. In case you need a link, just download either Anemone3DS or Themely.3dsx and put the .3dsx file in the \3ds folder on the SD-card of your 3DS. Then make a new folder on the root of your SD-card called "themes" in which you put the folder of the theme you ripped which itself should contain at least a bgm.bcstm, body_LZ.bin and info.smdh. Then launch the Homebrew Launcher, launch either of the apps and inject the theme. Once you do you better keep it, if you change it the normal way and want to go back, you will have to scan those 16 QR-codes again. Those sites (should) only contain custom fan-made themes. If you want the official ones you have to look somewhere else, but it seems you were already able to find it. In other news, a friend of mine received his EU boxed copy of Gold early and the only thing inside it is a download code. No poster, no stickers, no magnet, literary just a cardboard box with a download code inside... He did not have time to activate it and check if there was a theme and/or Celebi code on the eShop reciet though, so we can still hope. Sure the box is nice, but if I just purchased the game though eShop I would have had the Gold/Silver theme and a Celebi code. Now I am not sure what I will get. Oh, and Serebii mentioned that @Holla! as of tomorrow the Cast Theme would also become available though My Nintendo in Europe and will cost 100 platinum coins. Guess they do it this way, since I have not seen anything about certain retailers offering this theme in Europe. On that note, it is not just Amazon in the US where you will get this theme. Serebii also mentioned that you can get this theme if you buy the game though Gamestop or BestBuy. No mention about My Nintendo US though.
