  1. I don't know on what system version you are or if you have any way of launching the homebrew launcher, but if you can there are 3dsx apps available of both Themely and Anemone3DS. With these apps you can simply inject themes from your SD-card into your 3DS. This includes custom made ones from http://3dsthem.es or http://themeplaza.eu but also official ones, which you backed up yourself of course. I was afraid that this would be the case. It's a real shame to be honest. I live in the EU and just got a massage that I will receive my boxed version of Silver tomorrow. I will report back on what's actually inside and if it comes with any codes for themes and/or Celebi. Although I already have CFW, a magnet would be pretty handy since I also ordered a flashcard for NTRboothax to help friends in need.
  2. Yeah, I tried to do the thing @BlueBraviary is saying and was kinda shocked I couldn't receive one a second time, did not know they would record your data. So are you sure their servers only record the data you mention? So no private cartridge header/cartridge ID or eShop/NNID account data? I made a back-up of my main save file which is connected to a Global Link account and would like to make new save files for each Pikachu variation, so that I can merge them in the end. They should already know that this unique cartridge is linked to my account. Just starting a new game is fine, but if I do they could maybe see that my unique cartridge now has a new OT/TID/SID/Game Sync. And when I finally revert back to my main save file with all of my previous data, that would be kinda suspicious...
  3. @theSLAYER "provided your save file hasn't received one via wonder card" Looks like there is another check on their servers. I made a back-up of my save file, received this Original Cap Ash's Pikachu by entering the code in Mystery Gift, backed-up that save as well, went back to my previous made save file without the wonder card and tried to receive it again, but it said I already received this gift. By doing this I was hoping to get all the variations and merge my save files in the end, but it looks like I need to make different save files for each of them. Is it risky to start a new save file for each variation and merging the Pokémon (not the wonder cards) in the end? Because my current save file is connected to a Global Link account and I don't know if they can see if I use the same cartridge with different new game saves each time to get all the variations and suddenly switch back to my save which is connected to my Global Link account.
  4. @Got_Eevees Why woud you continue to save, you are still on 11.3 right? If so, you can easily install CFW thought the soundhax exploid. Just follow these instructions: https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax) Anyway, about the themes. I have to agree with @Deoxyz in that it is all pretty confusing. As you might have seen the Gold and Silver ones were officially revealed after September 13th's Nintendo Direct and you will be able to get them by buying the games on the eShop in JP and US. EU appears to be left out for some reason, although I cannot verify this myself? It also appears that people in the US are having problems in where they do not get a download code on their reciet. It is also unclear if you will receive a theme code if you buy a game from an other online store, for example Amazon, or if you will receive a theme code if you buy a boxed copy of the game (I do think we can confirm now that these boxed versions do not come over to the US, since they did mention these editions in the EU Direct but not in the US Direct). Anyway, another way to get these themes (if you have a Japanese 3DS) is though My Nintendo Japan, both themes cost 20 gold coins each. Then we have the "Cast theme", which to my knowledge is not announced officially yet. I can't seem to find much information about on how to get this one outside of Amazon Japan, but thanks to @Deoxyz it looks like you also get this one if you buy though Amazon US. No idea how to get one in EU though, could be Amazon as well, but in my country Amazon is not nearly as big as in the rest of the world, so I hope there will be another way to get it. And then we also have the Celebi code for Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon which also got announced at September 13th's Nintendo Direct. Apparently you will be able to get if you buy Gold or Silver on the eShop. The same uncertainty applies about receiving this code, as in it is not clear if you get it by buying the game though the eShop, buying a download code from another retailer or if you buy the boxed copy. I have to say all of this is a huge mess. Hopefully they will just put all 3 themes on the 3DS Theme Shop so that everybody that wants them can just buy them and doesn't have to deal with this.
  5. @Got_Eevees If you want to install custom firmware, follow the guide on http://3ds.guide. Since you are still on 11.3 it will be easy. I needed to install CFW on the 3DS of my cousin which was on 11.4, so I had to buy a DSi game and do a system transfer. It took some time but it got the job done. However, recently it was discovered that you can install CFW on any 3DS and on all version by only using an old NDS flashcard and a magnet, which is pretty nice. @theSLAYER *snipped*
  6. I got to pre-order a European boxed version of Silver, but the Celebi code you talk about, I assume it's a code for Sun/Moon? I know there was a Mew event where you got a code for XY/ORAS when you bought RGBY, but there was also an Mew event for RGBY in JP and EU where they traded you a Mew. Don't know why it was not released in the US, but it would be awesome if they did this again but now for a Celebi. Oh yeah, I forgot that the boxed copies are only coming to JP and EU. It is better than what they did with the boxed copies of RGBY, which only released in JP, but it's a shame the US got left out (again?).
  7. Me too! I plan to buy a boxed copy of Silver and hope a code for the Lugia theme is included. It's a shame that they had to use the blue gradient to make the background image of the third theme loop. I do like that it uses some of Sugimori's older artwork though.
  8. I've been lurking on this site for many years, but never actually made an account. Today I thought I would finally change that because I have some news I wanted to share with you. You probably already know Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver will release on September 22 on the 3DS Virutal Console. Amazon Japan recently opened up pre-orders for the boxed edition of these games and it states that with it, you will get a special 3DS Theme which roughly translates to "Pocket Monsters Gold · Silver - People's Theme". Source: https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?field-keywords=B07599P5H2|B0758ZJ6Q4 There are currently no public images of this 3DS Theme available, but since I couldn't wait I went and found out myself. After some digging I found out that there currently are 3 Pokémon Gold & Silver themes uploaded to Nintendo's CDN, all are uploaded to the JP, US and EU regions: Pokemon - Pokémon Gold Version Pokémon - Pokémon Silver Version Pokémon Gold-Silver - Cast Top image type: Static Bottom image type: Scrolling Top image type: Static Bottom image type: Scrolling Top image type: Scrolling Bottom image type: Scrolling Background Music: Main Title Theme Background Music: Main Title Theme Background Music: Gym Theme Has artwork of Ho-oh at the top and artwork of various Pokémon at the bottom Has artwork of Lugia at the top and artwork of various Pokémon at the bottom Has artwork of the 8 gym leaders at the top and artwork of various main characters and trainer classes at the bottom It looks like the theme Amazon Japan is talking about is the third one and it is currently unknown on how to get this theme in the US and EU. It is also unknown on how to obtain the first two themes at all in any region. Normally you are able to buy themes thought the 3DS Theme Shop, but there are some themes which are pre-order/special edition of hard- or software exclusive. We will just have to wait and see on how to get them, but we at least know there will most likely be a way to get them in all regions. That's it, hope you like them as much as I do! Update (20 sept.): Since all of these now are publicly available I have removed the spoiler I posted the images in previously. We now also know how you will get some of these themes. The Gold and Silver themes were officially revealed after September 13th's Nintendo Direct and you will be able to get them by buying the games on the Nintendo eShop in JP and US. I do also think this is the case in the EU but I cannot find any information about this and I cannot confirm this myself. The download code will appear on the eShop reciet (together with a Celebi code for Pokémon Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon). It seems like in order to get these themes, you have to buy the game directly from the eShop itself. There appears to be no code for these 2 themes (and Celebi) on the reciet if you buy a code from a retailer (ex. Amazon) and activate it yourself, which is rather weird. How this is done with the codes in the boxed copies of the game in JP and EU is currently not clear. If you happen to have a Japanese 3DS though, you will also be able to get these themes though MyNintendo Japan, both themes cost 20 gold coins each. The third "cast" theme is not officially revealed yet, but it turns out that if you are in the US and also buy a code though Amazon and pre-load in on your 3DS, you will find a code for this theme on your reciet instead, just as with Amazon Japan. It appears that this is the only code on the eShop reciet though, so no Gold or Silver theme (and no Celebi code). It is currently not known on how to get this theme in EU.
