1. I used Rattata as an example, but to answer the first question, I thought one could select a Pokémon from a drop-down list and select its Level, as well as tick Exp.-related boxes like "Is the defeated Pokémon wild or trained?" or "Is this Pokémon holding a Lucky Egg?" and it would give you the Exp. you'd gain and the Base Stats/EVs. Then one could repeat the process for a second Pokémon and it would automatically calculate the results. To answer the second question, I thought that some PKHeX users would want a way to Base Stat/EV Train their Pokémon without having to manually fight Pokémon after Pokémon in the game(s). It would also help PKHeX users who don't want to max their Pokémon's Base Stats/EVs and consequently breeze through the game. By the bye, I also found Psypoke's Experience Calculator which seems to be more accurate for calculating Exp. for the first four generations than Metalkid's, though it only lists Pokémon up to Gen V and doesn't take into account the scaled formula (as Bulbapedia calls it) for that generation like Metalkid's does.
2. This post I made suggesting an DV/EV and Exp. Calculator is not only in the complete wrong part of the forums, but is basically a re-iteration of this post. I got confused because there doesn't seem to be a place to request programs. How do I remove the offending post? Thank you for your time.
3. Sorry for the double-post, but in case somebody wants to implement this feature anyway, these sites would immensely help. Bulbapedia: List of Pokémon by base stats (Generation I) Bulbapedia: List of Pokémon by base stats (Generation II-V) Bulbapedia: List of Pokémon by effort value yield (Generation III-IV) Bulbapedia: List of Pokémon by effort value yield (Generation V-VI) Bulbapedia: List of Pokémon by effort value yield (Generation VII) Metalkid: Pokémon Experience Calculator Note that Metalkid's Experience Calculator sometimes gives results 1 point higher for trained Pokémon. For example, a Lv5 Eevee yields 97 Exp. when defeated but the calculator says it yields 98 Exp.
4. I understand. I thought I was talking quite big there and it would take a long time to implement. Oh well, it was an idea.
5. Not even a reply? I'm guessing I'm in the wrong part of the forums or something. Maybe it's not PKHeX's job to do something like this as it could easily be a separate program when I think about it.
6. I'm probably talking quite big here, and the title needs elaboration. Say I fight a wild Lv4 Rattata in the grass. If I defeat it, my Pokémon would gain approximately 32 Exp. It would also gain the following EVs/Base Stats, depending on the generation: • Generation I-II: 30 HP, 56 Atk, 35 Def, 25 Spc and 72 Spe (Base Stats) • Generation III+: 1 Spe (EVs) What I was wondering is, is there a way for PKHeX to calculate EVs/Base Stats and experience gained from defeating Pokémon? I'm guessing it requires the Batch Editor if it does. I was asking because I don't want to give my Pokémon max EVs/Base Stats as that would make the game too easy, and manually calculating everything is really tedious. If PKHeX doesn't have this feature, I do understand it would take a long time to implement it. OK, have a great day, everybody.
7. So it was me doing something wrong after all. *bangs head against desk* OK, thanks for the info and sorry for wasting your time.
8. This shouldn't be a Virtual Console .sav file. Sorry if I caused any confusion.
9. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. I went to generate a Mew for use as an HM Slave in my Yellow save. It complained that the event OT name was wrong, so I did some research and found that giveaway Mew had the OT name of either "YOSHIRA" or "YOSHIRB". I tried both, but it still complains that the event OT name is wrong. Thank you for your time. YOSHIRA.pk1 YOSHIRB.pk1
10. Thank you. Here's the .pkm file, in case you still want it. 012 - BUTTERFREE - 8DBC.pk1
11. True that Butterfree can only learn Tackle and String Shot as a Caterpie, but PKHeX marks it as illegal regardless. Strangely, Harden is not flagged as illegal though Butterfree can only learn it as a Metapod. I'm playing Yellow and using the latest version of PKHeX, if that's of any help.
12. Will do! By the bye, I set my PokéDollar and Coin total to max at the beginning of the game, but very quickly decided to revert back to default to play somewhat more fairly. By this time I had received my first Pokémon. This is how I discovered this. Pokemon Yellow Version.sav
13. I have the latest version of PKHeX which corrected the Trainer Info error for Gen 7, but I have found a Trainer Info error for Gen 1 that has slipped. After you receive your first Pokémon, trying to edit the Trainer Info returns the following error. Annoying indeed! Exception Details: System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format. at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal) at System.Number.ParseUInt32(String value, NumberStyles options, NumberFormatInfo numfmt) at PKHeX.Core.SAV1.get_Coin() at PKHeX.WinForms.SAV_SimpleTrainer..ctor() at PKHeX.WinForms.Main.B_OpenTrainerInfo_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) Loaded Assemblies: -------------------- mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorlib.dll PKHeX-win, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null J:\Robert's Folder\Games\Hacking Tools\Pokémon\PKHeX\PKHeX.exe System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089\System.dll System.Windows.Forms, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Windows.Forms\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089\System.Windows.Forms.dll System.Drawing, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Drawing\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a\System.Drawing.dll System.Core, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Core\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089\System.Core.dll System.Configuration, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Configuration\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a\System.Configuration.dll System.Xml, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089 C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Xml\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089\System.Xml.dll System.Deployment, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net\assembly\GAC_MSIL\System.Deployment\v4.0_4.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a\System.Deployment.dll -------------------- User Message: An unhandled exception has occurred. 14. Never mind, I used PKHeX to load one of my .pk1 files into Crystal and the program says it was met at (None) at level 0. This is because met locations and met levels weren't in the Gen I games. The imported Pokémon even holds the item that Serebii says it would when transferred. Amazing program. I think I've found my answer now.
15. If I were to trade a Pokémon from Gen I to Gen II using the Time Capsule, what would its met location be in PKHeX?
16. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a keyboard shortcut I'm pressing without knowing it, but sometimes the Pokémon in my box will be overwritten with the Pokémon in a different box. This seems to be completely random. I've read the keyboard shortcuts and there doesn't seem to be a shortcut for doing this. This has happened three times while playing Yellow, by the way.
17. Not really a problem, just a minor inconvenience. I don't nickname my Pokémon so after editing a Pokémon in a box with the nickname box unchecked, when I click "View" I see that the nickname box sometimes becomes checked. The "nickname" is the same as the original name. This seems to be somewhat random, except for Farfetch'd whose nickname box always becomes checked after I click "View" with the apostrophe in its name disappearing. This bug does not seem to apply to Pokémon in the main party, only those in boxes. I haven't ran into it yet in that area. After unchecking the box and setting the Pokémon again, it stays unchecked so this is really a tiny, tiny inconvenience compared to the other bugs I've reported, but if it's to make the program more user-friendly, I thought I should report it anyway.
18. This is annoying. There's an error triangle icon next to the first move in a Pokemon's moveset in my Yellow save and when I select a move, the PP of all the Pokemon's moves reset to 0.
19. Thank you so much. It works now! To quote Ghosts N' Goblins, "Congraturation! This story is happy end". As for why I named him "GOLD", Bulbapedia says he was called Gold by fans before HeartGold and SoulSilver renamed him Ethan, but since the rival has always been called Silver I thought it would be more appropriate to call him Gold since gold and silver are seen as opposites.
20. Will do. I noticed that the save file is 33 KB which could be the problem. By the way, sorry I was pressuring you to hurry up with Gen II support when you were busy on Rhydon. That was really rude of me.
21. So the GitHub commits say that Gen II support is now included, but even after updating PKHeX to the latest commit with MonoDevelop it STILL says "unsupported file type" when I try to open my Crystal save file in it. Maybe I rushed it and Gen II support isn't complete yet, but the commit says "Full Gen II save editing" so I assumed it was ready.
22. When I open my Yellow save file in PKHeX, I can't find Pikachu's Friendship value. I know its located at offset 0x271C in hex, just to make your life easier. I apologize if it is there, but I can't find it. Congratulations on Gen I and soon-to-be Gen II support, by the way.
23. Could you possibly make an option to list the Pokémon and moves in alphabetical order when searching for a Pokémon and giving it its moveset? I'm sorry, it's just really inconvenient having to keep tapping the first letter of a Pokémon or move's name on the lists until one gets to the one they want since they are in a seemingly random order.
24. Understood. I've had it happen again with File → Save File so basically it destroys or spares the save data whenever it feels like it. However, I can still open the save file with Pikasav and saving over it with that program solves the problem. I don't know if I can still open it with OmniEdit because I assumed I couldn't for whatever reason.
