  1. Some Pokémon have different catch rates across different versions of Gen 1, so that they hold different hold items when traded over to a Gen 2 game. Currently, one has to use the Batch Editor to edit catch rates, and setting the folder path to anywhere other than the save file seems to result in edits not being saved, making editing a .pk file(s) in a different directory seemingly impossible. I would therefore like to request an option to edit certain Pokémon's catch rates in one of the tabs in PKHeX, though limiting the options so that it displays legal results would be ideal. Here are the options for catch rates that I know: Pikachu: 190 in Red/Blue, 163 for Yellow Starter Kadabra: 100 in Red/Blue, 96 in Yellow Dragonair: 45 in Red/Blue, 27 in Yellow Psyduck: 190 in Red/Blue/Yellow, 168 for Stadium Amnesia Psyduck Dragonite also has a catch rate of 9 in Yellow, but wild Dragonite cannot legally be found.
  2. D'oh, now I remember. I'm an idiot! Unfortunately, I can't get the Batch Editor to save my edit. I've tried many options and nothing seems to work. EDIT I didn't elaborate, so I'll show my steps: Open Yellow save in PKHeX, allow tradebacks Create Lv. 15 Psyduck with Scratch and Amnesia, set TID to 02000 and OT to STADIUM. Open Batch Editor, set folder path to pkm directory Set Catch_Rate to .Catch_Rate=168 Run batch editor in pkm directory Save .pkm file When I reopen the .pkm file, nothing has been saved. I'm beginning to strongly suspect a bug in the batch editor.
  3. In an earlier version of PKHeX, the Amnesia Psyduck from Stadium was considered legal, but on the most recent stable release it's flagged as illegal. Unsure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong, considering I generated it using information from Bulbapedia. 054 - PSYDUCK - 6541.pk1
  4. Interesting, I didn't think of that. Yes, that could very well be the reason why it's considered legal. If so, @Kaphotics thought well ahead of me.
  5. Hi, I noticed that Pokémon in Gen 2 are considered legal by PKHeX even when the Time of Day is wrong. For example, I generated a Hoothoot—a Pokémon that can only be found at night except through headbutting trees (according to Bulbapedia)—in my Crystal save. Through some experimenting, I found that if I changed its Time of Day to Morning or Day, it is still considered legal. So I did some experimenting with other Pokémon like Hoppip, Gastly and Growlithe that can only be found at certain times of the day, and found the same thing applied to all of them. I'm using PKHeX 18.01.28. Here's the Hoothoot file, as an example. Its Time of Day is deliberately erroneously set to Day yet is still considered legal: 163 - HOOTHOOT - 8A33.pk2
  6. So I did a bit more messing around with GSC Unown, and I think the crash has something to do with PKHeX sometimes changing Unown's IVs and therefore its form upon trying to save, but not changing its sprite, resulting in confusion. If I produce the data above, go back to the Main tab to select its Form and double-check the Form its sprite shows (e.g. if its an X Unown, click on X to make absolute sure) IVs aren't changed and it seems to work. Sorry if I'm not explaining this very well.
  7. Hi, I'm currently going through GSC Smogon sets and got to Unown. Yeah, Unown. When I tried saving the following Unown file, PKHeX crashed with an unhandled exception. Since I can't upload the .pkm file because of this, I'll provide you the information in text. Species: Unown Nickname: None Level: 100 Held Item: TwistedSpoon Friendship: 255 Form: X Language: ENG (English) Is Egg: No Infected: No Cured: No Met: Ruins of Alph Met Level: 5 Time of Day: Day IV Stats: 11 HP IVs / 15 Atk IVs / 12 Def IVs / 15 SpA IVs / 15 SpD IVs / 15 Spe IVs EV Stats: 65535 EVs on all Stats Attacks: Hidden Power (Psychic) TID: 65535 OT: GOLD
  8. Thanks, but now it seems the "Met Level" input is ignored and it's considered legal even if one inputs a number other than 10, unless one inputs 0. Sorry.
  9. This could well turn out to be another "bug" that isn't actually a bug, but Tyrogue can be obtained in Gen 2 at Level 10 in Mt. Mortar from Kiyo, and can evolve into Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or Hitmontop at Level 20 depending on its Attack and Defense stats. However, Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are flagged as illegal in PKHeX if their met location is Mt. Mortar at Level 10, though strangely Hitmontop is considered legal. Also, Tackle is flagged as an invalid move though Tyrogue learns it leveling up before Level 20. Here's the pkm files: 106 - HITMONLEE - 6500.pk2 107 - HITMONCHAN - 26B0.pk2
  10. Okay. Thank you for clarifying that. I've been running into a lot of dead ends with "bugs" that turn out to not be bugs recently.
  11. Thanks. I didn't think this was a PKHeX bug.
  12. I've discovered that when one imports a set from the clipboard in a Gen 2 save file, either the wrong item is imported (e.g. Light Ball imports TM44 (Rest) instead) or the item isn't recognized at all and it returns an error, usually in the case of Berries. I am not sure if this applies to other generations.
  13. Certainly. Here you go. 026 - RAICHU - E260.pk2 051 - DUGTRIO - CB15.pk2
  14. Really sorry to bother you again, but I've been going through some Smogon GSC sets and have run into a problem. Essentially, there are a few Smogon GSC sets that have a move that can only be learned in Gen 1 and transferred over with the Time Capsule, and a move that can only be learned through breeding on the same set e.g. Raichu with Reflect and Encore, Dugtrio with Rock Slide and Beat Up. All my efforts in recreating these sets in PKHeX have been flagged as illegal and I can't figure out the way. Thanks for reading.
  15. Thanks for the information. Hopefully I can end this multi-post topic now. Sorry for bothering you with it all.
  16. I have discovered that the catch rate can be edited correctly when tradeback learnsets are allowed, though it is flagged as illegal if they are disallowed. Is this correct? I'm pretty confused as to when tradeback learnsets should be allowed and when they shouldn't.
  17. I noticed that while editing Kadabra's catch rate to 96 correctly produces a TwistedSpoon when imported to Gen 2, it resets to 100 when I leave the Batch Editor. It also resets for Dragonair, but does not happen with the Yellow Pikachu. I'm a complete amateur at the Batch Editor but I was able to get it to work for the Yellow Pikachu. Is the resetting thing a bug, or I am doing something wrong again?
  18. Here you go: 064 - KADABRA - D0AB.pk1 148 - DRAGONAIR - 63AB.pk1
  19. I'm an idiot again, I realised that the reason why the Level 20 Kadabra is holding a Berry is because I saved over it after batch editing. However, the "unable to match an encounter from origin game" warning still stands. I can also confirm that Dragonair—which has a 10% encounter rate at Level 15 in Yellow while fishing with the Super Rod in the central area of the Safari Zone—has the same warning. It's another Pokémon whose catch rate differs from Red/Blue and Yellow.
  20. Hi, Kadabra is another Pokémon that holds a different held item when traded to Gen 2 depending on whether you're playing Red and Blue or Yellow. It has a 5% encounter rate in the wild on Route 8 in Yellow, at Levels 20 and 27. I generated two Kadabra, one at Level 20 and one at 27. I used the Batch Editor to change both their catch rates to 96, which is the special catch rate wild Kadabra have in Yellow to hold a TwistedSpoon when traded to Gen 2. When I imported them into my Crystal save, the Level 27 Kadabra held a TwistedSpoon as expected but the Level 20 one held a Berry. Also, despite the fact that Kadabra can be found in the wild in Yellow, PKHeX is complaining that it is unable to match an encounter from the origin game.
  21. I can now definitely confirm that the Yellow Pikachu's catch rate is set to 190 instead of 163 when tradeback learnsets are disallowed unless one uses the Batch Editor. Is this intentional?
  22. Hi, sorry for the second report, but while I was doing my head in over the importing to Gen 2 thing, I discovered that a Pokémon that cannot be caught in the wild in Gen 1 e.g. Pidgeot will be seen as illegal while tradeback learnsets are disallowed, with the following message: Invalid: Unable to match an encounter from origin game. Invalid: Catch rate match species without encounters. Expected a preevolution catch rate. However, when I changed the Pidgeot to Pidgey or Pidgeotto, it became legal and when I changed it back to Pidgeot, it stayed legal. I presume it has something to do with the fact that Pidgey and Pidgeotto can be found in the wild in Gen 1, but Pidgeot cannot.
