As you can see I soft reseted using Vba so I probably missed lots of shinies during this.
Be sure to keep your shinies datas.
I'm pretty sure (because of probability laws) the Leafeon I remember was from Battle debug menu and not PC reset. Same for proto-Sneasel.
I got fun to transfer proto-Tangrowth, proto-Mime Jr and proto-Lickilicky to SMUSUM yesterday.
Yeah, you should probably swap over to the BGB emulator if you want more accurate things in the demo. It's recommended by the fan translators after all.
I'll try to see what I can do about the battle debug if that's how you got those last few proto mons.
If it's worth anything, I also heard that the unused Burned Tower Entei event exists in the demo somewhere, but with the drastically different region I can't determine where that would match up with the final. Even then, with the lack of scripts outside the demo area it would probably be impossible anyway.

Also the fact proto-Sneasel, proto-Snubull, proto-Aipom, Togepi, Ho-oh and proto-Leafon almost never appear randomly in debug mode (but I remember I got one day a proto-Leafon and a proto-Sneasel) is something weird, quite illogical. I mean I've met 15 Mew in 300+ tries. If someome dumped proto-Leafon lv5 from random debug PC I'm in.
I didn't get a "Johtan" Leafeon through resetting, but I ended up getting these instead...on the same save file no less!
In the process I saw one shiny Flambear, two shiny Cruz (including the one pictured above), and a shiny "Johtan" Noctowl in the PC.
Here's the "demo shiny" Slowbro I got after trading to Japanese Blue.

According to this guy there is also wild Marowak, Rhydon, Pikachu and Gloom to get.
Does anyone have seen them?
I tried 200+ encounters for Pikachu.
Pikachu can be found in Silent Hill during the daytime I think, but it's a very rare encounter. I got mine there and accidentally leveled it up a few times as I was searching for "demo shinies."

Ok, here's my method:
-in demo, put the Pokemon in first slot of your team
-in memory viewer, dump the RAM at D6B2 (30 bytes)
-in Kin (Japanese Gold) catch a random useless Pokemon and put it in first slot of your team
-paste via memory viewer your demo data Pokemon at D9F0
-change the ID of the first Pokemon of your team at D9E9 (HEX table here)
-if it's a generation 2 pokemon you will also have to change the first byte of the past Pokemon
ex : CB for Girafarig instead of 00?
-save if almost everything seems correct
-in Pkhex correct the nickname, the OT and sometimes the level of your Pokemon.
I wasn't talking about injecting into the final Gen 2 games, I was talking about injecting into the demo. With so many changes between the beta and final, the Gen 1 mons are the only ones that can go through everything with no issues, after those it doesn't match up. Any pk2 that contains one of the scrapped Pokemon designs will only work properly if injected into the demo and nothing else, which no online tool can do at the moment.

Note that you can transfer you Girafarig datas as I did for other Pokemon I uploaded here but I'll surely not remain shiny.
Even if I could extract it, it would be completely useless unless we can inject into the demo's save file and load it. Different internal IDs means it's incompatible with the final GSC.
I know these Pokemon won't remain shiny if traded to the final version, which is why I'm calling them "demo shinies" to differentiate them for the final. Consequently, this can make some traded Pokemon from Gen 1 "demo shiny" but not "final" shiny in the retail games.
-
Found more "demo shinies" in my free time.
For some reason a few of my caught Pokemon got corrupted nicknames, including the Rattata above. I just unchecked the nickname value in PKHeX before extracting.

are those NPCs active? As far as I can tell, none of the NPCs outside of the Silent Hills communicate with players..
The Pokemon Center in the next town, "Old" town, has a working battle and trade area with functional NPCs for the features. I used the Time Capsule there to trade with a Japanese Blue for exporting, although I heard if you communicate with the final Japanese GSC it errors out.
2 hours ago, St. GIGA said:@SwagKey got JP Blue to trade with 1997 Gold, so maybe the time capsule could make gen2 treat beta as gen1, and using the guard glitch to trade any demomon with gen1 moves in, normalizing it as a gen2 pokemon... @theSLAYER
Yeah, that's not going to work. The demo has completely different internal IDs for Pokemon, so if you trade something past Meganium's ID it will become something completely different. This is why I'm playing it safe and only exporting Gen 1 mons from the demo, they're the safest and are globally compatible with the first two generations.
The only way we could ever use these demomon pk2 files properly is if PKHeX adds support for these demos...which I heard won't be coming any time soon because Kaphotics says they are way too different from the final.

Seriously, this demo really loves me.
I traded three of them over to Japanese Blue since Hoothoot can't be traded over. I did some testing and Pokemon that are shiny in the demo RETAIN their shininess when traded back. Just don't trade it to a retail Gold and Silver since the shiny odds changed.
Here's the demo shinies I traded over to Japanese Blue. The Caterpie isn't the same one from earlier, I just so happened to run into another shiny one.

3 hours ago, jojo12100 said:
@SwagKey Your caterpie does not become shiny when trade to gen2. This is probably because of the shiny odd are not the same in demo than in final game.
21 hours ago, SwagKey said:I even managed to trade the Caterpie over to Japanese Blue for exporting. Shinies didn't exist back then, but it SHOULD still be shiny if you trade it back to one of the demos.

I would have used a Japanese Gold or Silver for trading, but I heard that it errors out and you can't trade with those games.

I've actually played the demo for a bit, and it's a REALLY interesting playthrough. The same yet completely different to what we got. The Voodoo doll Pokemon has to be one of my favorites of the early designs.
I know this may seem like a long stretch, but I do hope PKHeX adds support for this when things become more polished, translated, and saving gets added. You could argue that "it's going to be classified as a hack by then, so by those standards all hacks should be added to the database!" but I consider this a special case. There are dozens of hacks out there, but this was officially made by Game Freak and the only thing that's getting added by the hackers is an English translation, various bug fixes, and the ability to save. Everything else was made in house and not by any sort of fan. The fact that the Diamond and Pearl demo is supported by PKHeX with a few tweaks also really hammers the point in.
On a more unrelated note, I came up with some of my own fan assumptions about this vastly different region. It's in a spoiler because it doesn't exactly fit the criteria of the topic.
SpoilerI consider this new vastly different Johto it's own separate region. I personally named it the "Johta" region, after "beta Johto" obviously, and it is basically in a parallel dimension where certain events that occurred in the actual Johto took a different turn, explaining why Misty and Giovanni are part of the Elite Four in this region. The different climates of the region also resulted in some Pokemon getting "Johtan" forms while also introducing some unique Pokemon of their own, with some Gen 1 Pokemon being able to evolve in the region thanks to some unique environments and some newly discovered items found in those places.
So yeah, it's a different region with its own unique timeline, Pokemon, and forms of certain Pokemon. An Alola region cranked up a few pegs? Probably.

@BlackShark @theSLAYER I almost succeed, in fact I had many error messages in Japanese that I couldn't understand and for now I can't even dump the sav with the shiny Espeon but I'm working in it
It may be possible to obtain unreleased English versions of these mons with a specific setup. You need to change a single byte in the data to get the options to show up, but even after you scan in the cards there's no option in the international versions to battle against the trainers you scanned in. Maybe someone could look into reactivating it?

eh, there is more or less no checks when depositing PK6, or PK6 -> PK7
If your Shiny Arceus was a PK6, it would explain how you got it into Bank.
That wasn't what we were concerned about; our concerns were always using Poketransporter from Gen 5,
cause that's where the checks are..[Once again, I'm coming at this is from a glitching perspective.
As much as glitching isn't technically "legal",
at least it can be done without any kind of save hacking or external hardware intervention.]Oh, that's nice to know!
It does make it a shame that the only shiny Arceus that can be legally put into Pokebank is the Japanese Hoopa one.

Darkrai and Shaymin pass through not Arceus
That may be true from what I've seen, but for some reason when I skipped over PK5 and converted it straight to PK6 Pokebank saw no issues with it. I assume its because one of the checks was eliminated in the generation shift for it to see nothing wrong.
This was also how I got my shiny Shaymin and Darkrai into Pokebank as well.

Yup, it was previously known that DP Shaymin doesn't have "fateful encounter", so it cannot be used to receive the Gracidea.
Send me the copy of transported Arceus. I wanna mimic it's data and see if I can get one to pass. Here it is. It's the same Arceus from earlier in the thread but I personally grinded it up and nicknamed it.
493 ★ - Azure - 57510CB5CCBF.pk4
As for Shaymin, I actually already have the Gracidea item from an official Shaymin I obtained; I just can't use on my shiny DP Shaymin as it just says "It won't have any effect." Despite what the article on the unreleased Shaymin says about how all Shaymin can transform from the Gracidea, it's wrong.

Little Update: Looks like I was never able to transfer up a Shiny HoO Arceus. Could only do so with a non-shiny one.
If it's of any interest, once I caught my shiny HoO Arceus (the one I contributed in this thread) I grinded it up to level 100 from the wild Pokemon around Stark Mountain and battling the Elite Four, getting the Sinnoh Champ ribbon in the process and some of the Memory ribbons, before dumping my save file and using PkHex to convert from PK4 to PK6. I put it in one of my Gen 6 games and accessed Pokebank. It took the Arceus with no issues. This was actually how I got my shiny Shaymin and Darkrai through Pokebank, although I got rid of Pursuit for Natural Gift and grinded to level 50 on Darkrai. For Shaymin, I got rid of Defense Curl for Bullet Seed, although I didn't need to grind since Platinum's Shaymin comes at the same level.
To give it a bit of a Gen 4 signature, I also taught the shiny HoO Arceus Silver Wind.
In a final note, any Shaymin caught in DP cannot change into Sky Form in Gen 7. I assume it's because it lacks the "fateful encounter" flag.

So apparently a demo version of Pokemon XD exists on a Multi-Game demo disc, labelled v32:
https://tcrf.net/Interactive_Multi-Game_Demo_Disc_October_2005
I couldn't find any footage of it anywhere, so I don't know if it's just the intro that's playable or something else completely. Even so, maybe we can get something out of it? The preview image shows a Jolteon and Gardevoir after all.

This type of Pokémon shouldn't be traded at all, I mean it makes people happy until they find out the real deal with them.
This is why I get skeptical every time I receive a shiny Pokemon through Wonder Trade. I mean, you should be extremely ecstatic and surprised when you get a rare shiny Pokemon over Wonder Trade, but because of the existence of hacked and genned shinies, along with how easy it is to pull off, I can't afford to use those emotions when I get traded one.
I'm...probably not going to upload the rest of the potential hacked mons I got through Wonder Trade.

Every single thing he trades is fake. You don't need to look into the ID number. As soon as you check the OT, you'll know it's the guy who is a plague on WT, trading away his hacked garbage to unsuspecting people.
I must have been one unlucky person to have gotten these then as I was Wonder Trading.

The Hariyama originally had a Toxic Orb attached and the Persian had a Gold Bottle Cap. I had to remove them to put them in Pokebank.
I also have a few more of these fake mons that I unluckily managed to get over Wonder Trade. They weren't from the AusLove.TV guy, but I'll upload them if anyone is interested.

Nope, I’d be fine with a Rattata.
Okay, I can do that. Just don't make the Ribombee have a hindering nature and I'm perfectly fine.
I'm going to need your friend code if we're going to be doing this, online trades and all.

I haven’t picked it up yet on my save so I could get it for you.
Thanks for the offer! Is there anything specific you want me to trade in return?
-
Well, I'm now back to square one with my search. At least I know what the Totem Ribombee looks like on the GTS, even if it wasn't the one PokemoKing99 said he uploaded. Still, my luck finding it on the GTS is still almost impossible, so if anyone is still up to trade one to me I would really appreciate it.

ok GTS trade me
GTS ME PLEASE I WILL PUT THE POKEMON ON THE GTS AND U WILL FIND IT OK
thanks
If you would just give me your friend code this could go by way easier. That way we could trade directly instead of using the wonky GTS system.

I was searching for a demo shiny Pikachu and got these instead. Thanks to a glitch involving Sketch I couldn't afford to waste a turn attacking Smeargle.
Here's the three demo shiny Oddish and the demo shiny Raticate after trading to Japanese Blue.
