  1. You simply have to ask the seller, there's no other way really. But the chances of finding a second hand game with a save file on is pretty slim I think. I don't know how others have fared. If the game has had the save file erased, you can inject another save file someone has sent you, I think. The cart will have the save game data initialized, which is all that's needed. But really, it's a lot of effort to go to and very risky if it doesn't work. I've seen people spend hundreds and can't get their head round it.
  2. My copy of X was bought from Play Asia a couple of weeks ago and works fine with the Cyber Gadget dongle. However, they might just have a room full of copies, some older and some newer (since for most people it doesn't matter), I don't know.
  3. Has this not been debunked? Why would they block single users when they can just block everyone outside of Japan? A UK user suggested it a few days ago but it worked fine for me and still does.
  4. Install the software from the CD, open the folder you've saved the program files in (you can choose during the installation if you want, otherwise it'll be in in program files in the C-drive), and drag the modified software and the Ionic.Zip.dll file too into it, and it'll rename the modded one as (2) or something. If you don't drag the .dll file in as well, it won't work. Plug the save dongle in and open the modded software, and follow this foolproof guide Kaphotics made:
  5. Oh, the modded version is far superior. You can edit vast swathes of your save data in one go. With the original software, you can either select some ready made codes they've added (only a few, max cash etc) or add your own, which you can make in PKHeX. But there's a limit on how many lines of code you can input, and you can't inject more than two Pokemon at a time. With the modded version you can change as much as you like. The only reason to use the original version is if, like today, the modded one becomes briefly useless due to an update and you want to do stuff there and then. Chances are the modded program will be updated and released before you even notice
  6. If anyone wants to use the original Japanese program with the codes before the updated modified version is available, just right click on your game and click the first of the two options, then right click any of the codes already there and add the name and code and then implement it. You can do two Pokemon at a time (in slot 1 and 2 of box 1) but no more, or the code will be too long.
  7. I've not added codes before (never needed to), where do you add them in the original Japanese software? So PKHeX editing (without the codes) is still possible as long as you don't update the software? And it still lets you use it?
  8. It's in the Pokédex as a separate form so presumably it is possible to have a permanent Active-Xerneas just like perma-megas (which change back if you leave them in your party) or Meloetta-P (which stays that was forever). It's probably something Kaphotics can add in quite easily I presume?
  9. Sorry, but it really can't. It just isn't possible. If it was possible, you'd know. The only way to inject Pokémon is with Cyer Gadget save editor.
  10. Hoopa and Volcanion are not on the GTS. Because you can't trade them.
  11. Does it have a save file on it? Or is it a brand new copy? Because a cart fresh from the box is useless unless you have a Japanese 3DS
  12. It only works with Japanese carts, but I'm talking about injecting an EU/US save file onto a Japanese cart, if for example you want your Japanese setup to be your main one instead of starting over. Obviously you won't be able to do it the other way round, but it is possible to inject a foreign save file onto a JP cart (apparently). Logically, it would be as simple as just replacing the save file in the root folder that the Cyber Gadget saves files to, and then restoring from backup, but I want to be sure.
  13. To insert a US save file into an initialised (but reset) Japanese cartridge, will a partially decrypted powersaves file work? Because obviously the Cyber Gadget adapter doesn't work with US cartridges so that's the only way to get it. What folder do you put the US save file into?
  14. Are unreleased or unavailable items (like the gems, soul dew, shalour sable etc) tradeable? Over GTS, wireless or local?
  15. So does anyone know why this Mega Gengar seems to have an alternate colour scheme? Is it possible there is data for unused sprites still leftover in the game? He used PKHeX. It's only on the status screen and not in battle which suggests it didn't get as far as the 3D model stage
  16. You can make a Giratina-O with Powersaves, using the form change code. I've not tried it myself, but I've heard from someone else that if you give it the Griseous Orb while it's in the Origin form, and then take it away, it reverts back as you'd expect. You can see videos of permanent megas on YouTube. I'm very surprised that mega evolutions don't revert after back after the battle ends, but like Kaphotics said they revert if you keep them in your party. I've not seen anything on this so far, but what happens if you put them in Pokémon Amie? And do they do things when you tap them on the status screen? Permanent Pirouette Meloetta crashes Amie, but has a unique set of animations (like doing a pirouette) when you tap it on the status screen, which is weird for something which technically shouldn't exist.
  17. I've got a Japanese 3DS and copy of Pokémon X, and I've just bought a second hand Cyber Gadget Save Editor on eBay. It's been paid for and shipped but I've just noticed that it doesn't come with the USB cable, because the previous owner lost it. Is it a micro USB? Or any other kind of universal cable? Or am I going to have to try and buy one from the company?
