  1. Update 4.2.0 you say? Can't believe no one made the joke yet.

Now if you'll excuse me I gotta live up to my Dutch heritage and OBlZJYW3.png it

    ---------------------

Okay but seriously, reactions are cool! Would an addition of an "Angry" be required still? Although admittedly I would have no idea what picture/pokemon would fit the emotion.

    • Hahaha 1
  2. I mean, there's a huge difference between having next to nothing to do after beating the E4, and having at least some stuff.

D/P/Pt had the whole battle island at the top-right that had a few story elements in it, and more importantly imo, higher level routes and towns to hang out at. The higher level wild Pokémon and re-match-able trainers were really nice, and you were given an incentive to keep playing after the Elite Four with the PokéRadar, even if you weren't interested in battling.

The PokéRadar-exclusive Pokémon in each route gave a reason to go back everywhere if you were interested in collecting, or if you like shinies. If you preferred battling, every trainer in the game levels up to fairly high levels after enough re-matches with the Vs. Seeker and there was Battle Tower with several different modes (and later on, the whole Battle Frontier.) Platinum even gave us higher level E4 rematch with more varied E4 rosters.

They gave us the Underground where we could mess around in for hours just digging, and there was even new treasure to find added to it once you beat the Elite Four, giving you even more reasons to go back even if you already spent hours there before beating the game. New fossils to find for the collectors, for the most part.

There were contests, you could plant berries around to get more and make Poffin playing that minigame, working on increasing your contest stats so your Pokémon could have a better chance at winning. Heck you could spend a lot of time collecting accessories too. :P

That and I guess there's also a bunch of legendaries you unlock in the post-game, but that's the kind of thing you spend 15 minutes on each and then you're done so those don't really weight all that much.

There's already been a good precedent imo. There was lots of replay value in Gen. IV that was simply not present in any future Gens. and that's a real disappointment.

I mean Gen. V had a bunch of new areas open up post-game, and Battle Subway was as good as Battle Tower, but other than that it's missing a lot of things that made Gen. IV post game so good.

I don't think we should be defending the lack of post-game stuff to do in X/Y, and apparently Sun/Moon from what I'm saying there, by saying that "Pokémon has never been known for good post-game and replay value", because we know that Game Freak can do way better than the complete absence of anything we were given in Gen. 6/7 :/

The least they could do in X/Y was give us higher-level E4 rematch and they didn't even bother to do that. Does Sun/Moon have a higher-level E4 rematch in post-game, at least? That would at least make spam-running the E4 more interesting...

Gosh I need to replay Platinum.

Tldr: gen 4 best gen remakes when

    (Coz I totally agree)

  3. So, once I get my cartridges and get the save extracted, there are a few things PKHex can do already? Mystery gift is good. I can get Mangearna after Japan's or Europe's is dumped. Are there any Pokemon currently able to be genned?

Will JKSM let me extract the save even though bank doesn't have the Sun/Moon update yet?

Yes.. Bank is a completely different working entity to pkhex and JKSM and in no way is it related ever. Not sure what made you assume this... I mean JKSM does way more than just pokemon games

  4. Yes.. is the only thing i hear after passed the game :/// ok, can be a funny quest to do... But after all the game you only goes to catch UB's and make NOTHING after that. is disapointed...

And about my first question, you know Something? you know as the game is not a good postgame, for me, At least good battles.

Pokemon has never been known for its extensive post game story and replay value. The delta episode was quite special and I'm still in the camp that says the main reason behind it was a nod to Pokemon Emerald and Rayquaza needing a big role in the Hoenn story. On top of that they needed something to explain the origin of Mega Evolution and what better place to put the origin than putting it at a mysterious Pokemon who roams the Ozon layer which even today scientists haven't fully figured out.

That said, the real replay value is indeed in what you said - battling. The competitive scene moves the Pokemon community forward and keeps it alive once we are through the story. And along with battling there is of course the hacking scene which offers randomizers and hackroms and there are challenges such as nuzlocke challenges.

  5. After all that you have said.. You have finished the game, right? I'm playing now the Sun.. and i have several questions about that game...

1- After i finished the game, i can fight again with Trial's captain or Kahuna Leader(And randon trainers in the game.)??

2- i've made that question many many times for the guys in various foruns, and anyone can answer me with propriety. What? What we can do of interesting after passed all the game?

    Thank you, bro.

I haven't yet but as for 2 - there is an ultra beast related post game story with Looker.

  6. Has it been discovered how you can get Cosmog yet? I want a second Lunala

Friend of mine actually figured that out and I posted on his behalf on /r/pokemon about it earlier today. Check it out: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/5cm811/spoiler_how_to_get_a_secret_pokemon_post_game_on/

Also question to everyone - is it known or can it be figured out how for the love of arceus Charjabug evolves? The only info we got is "Level up at electric" whatever the heck that may mean and it sure as heck isn't just level up...

  7. VERSION 1.3 UPDATE

    • Updated various parts of the story text to reflect changes made in the game elsewhere such as type effectiveness references
    • Various Grass type Pokémon had water immunity abilities which is a bother as Water is super effective on Grass. These have been changed
      • Maractus no longer has Water Absorb nor Storm Drain. They are replaced with Rough Skin and Grass Pelt respectively.
      • Lileep and Cradily no longer get Storm Drain. It is replaced with Stench.
      • Cacnea and Cacturne had Water Absorb removed, their set of 3 abilities is now Sand Veil, Rough Skin or Sand Stream (Hidden).

[*]I have added various extra references by NPC's. To give hints on where to find them:

      • A scientist in a building in Rustburo City.
      • A backpacker in Lilycove City.
      • A PokeManiac in the Lilycove PokeCenter.
      • An evil team couple on Battle Resort.

[*]Various brown signs across the region.

[*]Updated wild and static encounter tables to reflect other changes made throughout the game

    -removed-

  8. Not per se pkhex related fix but a trick I use for quickly opening my save file is that I have the "no extension" set to default open with pkhex in my register. This is very easy to implement.

    1) Open Regedit by pressing the Windows key + R then typing 'regedit'

    2) Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

    3) RIGHT click HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and click New->Key. Name this Key just '.' (without ' ')

    4) Right click the just created key and again New->Key then name it 'shell' (without ' ')

    5) Once again right click that key (I mean shell here) and again New->Key and name that 'open' (without ' ')

    6) And one last time right click the previous key (open) and again New->Key then name it 'command' (without ' ')

    7) Open 'command' and you should see an entry with Name: (Default) / Type: REG_SZ / Data: (value not set)

    8) Double click this (value not set) and type your path to your pkhex.exe the append it with %1

Note: If the path to your pkhex has spaces (for example "C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Pokemon Games") then be sure to put the path between " " marks. Referring to the below example images if my folder would be "Gaming Files" and not "GamingFiles" I would have to have entered it as "D:\UserFiles\3DS\Gaming Files\PKHaX\PKHeX.exe" %1 (so with the quotation marks around the path)

Now when you double click any file without a file extensions like the 'main' file it will automatically open in pkhex!

  9. Hello all,

Over the past two weeks I have been working on my romhack of Pokémon Omega Ruby titled Pokémon Sigma Ruby. I have chosen Sigma as this is like Omega and Alpha another letter in the Greek Alphabet as well as that it feels suiting for an improved Pokémon Ruby game.

The most important change in Pokémon Sigma Ruby is that not just the Inverse Battle trainer battles you with the types inversed, no, ALL battles are now following the Inverse type effectiveness.

    Download

Probably the most important section of the post right?

The download has a xdelta patch along with the program, readme instructions on how to apply it and a `bat` (batch) file for Windows users to do so for them. Please refer to the readme file for patching your game with the changes. Taken from the README:

    1. Place a clean Omega Ruby .cia rom in the same folder as the downloaded files.
    2. Rename the rom to omegaruby.cia
    3. Run the patcher.bat

    Notes

    • This game cannot be installed alongside an already existing omega ruby as the romhack won't have a custom TitleID. Please remove any existing Omega Ruby first.
    • If you're already playing a copy of Omega Ruby you will have to remove all updates from that (CTR-U-ECRA/P/E/J is the ProductID for DevMenu/BigBlueMenu) or the romhack will not work.
    • The text has been edited for the English version only!
    • Since this hack makes no changes to the save file structure you can inject or extract the save file perfectly normal

  10. You're thinking of Ohana3DS and other editors to edit models of Pokemon for X/Y OR/AS.

Besides the fact that I originally posted that waaay ago =P!

I've learned a LOOOT ever since for 3DS / Rom hacking in general. Kinda even released my own OR romhack but the darn mods of Rom Hacking Showcase either aren't approving my post for it or are MIA entirely ! I did post it on GBATemp and reddit.com/r/3dshacks though. If you happen to be interested, it's called Sigma Ruby.

  11. Yes exactly, whenever I go to pcin or pcout it says "Communication Error"

I've tried using QR code, and it works fine. Thing is, I don't like using it since it takes time and inefficient. It's much faster to create one whole PC and put it in the game.

Oh, good idea. I need to check out now which game updates me to a earlier than 9.2.0 Firmware.

Thank you very much ! i hope i will be able to do it

http://www.3dsdb.com/ will have with that for what I understand. I do not know too much about cartridge updating so as odd as it may seem I'd like to again just refer you to GBATemp's forum

Coz else this gets offtopic which is no good :P

  12. Hi guys. I am new here so please be nice :3 because my english skills are really bad too lol

I have e problem with PKHeX ! i was using it for over a year and it worked perfectly on my 2DS with 8.1.0

But about a week ago it stopped working and wont work anymore and i did not even change anything on the settings or anywhere else.

Can somebody help me fix this ? i dont know what to do.

maybe i should update from 8.x to 9.x but i really down know how i should update to the not latest firmware :(

if there is anything a can do please wirte me i need you guys :)

To answer the non latest updates - use a cartridge that does the update i.e. Smash 3ds.

You're saying it stopped working how? Don't you mean the ram2sav website? That would be because it's been taken down. More than likely because with the homebrew and CFW scene over on Gbatemp it is pretty much deprecated.

  13. I was using this a couple of days ago but today when i tried to load my save file by going to http://bit.ly/1Caycho, by browser said that the page could not be found.

I tried clearing my browser cache/cookies and even initialize save data. No luck.

    Need help.

Pkhex even removed ram2sav compatibility a while back in a release if i remember correctly. Pretty sure one of the commits said that. So yes, use homebrew.
