  1. I'm making progress on a Pokémon ROM hack and I have pretty much all the tools I need, apart from one - an Egg Move Editor. I have a level up move editor and a TM/HM editor, but no egg move editor is to be found. Does anybody know where I can find one, and if one hasn't yet been made, does anybody have the knowledge or resources to make one for the community?
  2. You can make a Milotic egg, that isn't the problem. To make an egg, you need to first make the Pokémon totally as normal, without thinking about it as an egg. You need to set where the egg was received (I would recommend that under the "Met" tab you put "Day-Care Couple" as its encounter location, set its level to 1, on the "Encounter" drop-down list set it to "Egg/Pal Park..." etc and tick the "As Egg" box, but don't change anything underneath the checkbox). Give the Pokémon a Pokémon ID, give it whatever moves you want it to have when it hatches, give it EVs if you like, because they will be there when it hatches. Once you're done hacking the Pokémon (without thinking of it as an "egg"), just go back to the "Main" tab and check the "Egg" box at the bottom. That should be everything you need to do.
  3. Oh and also, forgot to add that if you're telling the game you received the Braviary in an egg and hatched it yourself, you need to say you encountered it at level 1. But that's just common sense.
  4. To make a Pokémon appear like it was obtained in a trade it needs to have the "Link Trade" encounter location, rather than Route 10, or whatever. If a Pokémon is traded it loses its physical encounter location and gains the Link Trade location. Also, for ALL Gen 5 Pokémon, the "Encounter" drop down list is ALWAYS set to Egg/Pal Park/Event/Honey Tree/Shaymin. Don't ask why, it just seems to be the way the game works. If you want it to have your OT, you still can, because eggs can be traded too. So give it your OT, set its encounter location to Link Trade, its Encounter status to Egg/Pal Park/Event/Honey Tree/Shaymin and check the "As Egg" box, and then choose any Route from Pokémon Black as its hatch location. You shouldn't have to do anything else - the date doesn't have to be changed because it should automatically change itself to today's date, which is totally plausible. Another thing to note is that if you're giving a Pokémon its Dream World ability, then you need to add 1 extra byte to the (0x42) option under the OT/Misc tab. Rather than using legal.exe, I would recommend temporarily making Braviary level 50 (if it isn't above level 50 already) and putting it along with at least 2 other Pokémon in your party (all of which must be over level 50, non-legends and obtained legitimately, just to be safe) and try to go into the Random Matchup server. If a Pokémon is viewed as illegal by that system, it will say "There was a problem with your Pokémon and they could not participate", and kick you out of the server. Nothing will happen to your Pokémon but this is an easy way to check if the game considers it legal or not. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to PM me if you continue to have problems.
  5. Are you editing a Pokémon from a fourth gen game? What might be happening is, when you create a .pkm file using PokéGen, it's automatically in Black/White mode, so it writes the code for the .pkm for use in Black/White. If you then open up a fourth gen ROM, PokéGen automatically goes into the right mode for that ROM, and when you load up the .pkm into it, because of the way that each game reads .pkm files, the Pokémon will turn out distorted and false. If this isn't your problem, then if the problem is purely to do with abilities, it could be to do with missing hex values. If you're giving a Pokémon a Dream World ability then on the OT/Misc tab, you need to add an extra byte to the 66 option (0x42). Just put a 1 into the box next to it and that will add the extra byte required for a Pokémon with a Dream World ability. I'm not guaranteeing that this will be the problem because I've personally never had any problems with PokéGen when giving Dream World abilities and NOT adding the extra byte. Hope one of these is the solution to your problem, but if not, feel free to PM me and I'm sure we can figure out what's going wrong through trial and error.
  6. Seeing as nothing seems to really be out there in the way of making it easier to edit sprites, it definitely must be a tough job. But surely there is somebody out there who has the technical skills. Haha... *bump*.
  7. Can the narc file replacer be used to replace files other than ones located in a/0/1/8, for example palette files found in a/0/0/4?
  8. I used this method to try to set up my own GTS. It may or may not work for other people who aren't connected to a shared network, but for me, the problem is that the DNS setting that IR-GTS gives me is a local DNS setting (192.168.0.5). I can successfully use these settings to send Pokémon to and from my computer/DS, but other people can't access my server. I also tried giving out the IP address that http://www.find-ip-address.org/ gives me, but that doesn't work either. I have a decent knowledge of computers but I don't really know much about network settings.
