Know Your Pokemon

I swear, this is the last one I'm going to do, whether anybody likes it or not. Truth be told, I really like this kind of thing so that's why I add so much to it. But, until everyone gets up and going with it themselves, I'm not going to add until then. I feel like I'm scavenging everything. But since I love Rampardos (see Avatar and sig) here it is. [sprite]409[/sprite] #409: Rampardos Type: Rock Ability: Mold Breaker/ Sheer Force (Dream World) Base stats: 97/165/60/65/50/58 Difficulty: Advanced When fourth gen was on the horizon and pokemon were leaked, initially Rampardos was widely feared. These were the days were Rhyperior's 140 attack was considered way too high, and perhaps when Machamp was still considered "good". But like many fourth gen Pokemon, including Rhyperior, Porygon-Z and so on people were soon to find out that Rampardos was an over hyped pokemon, having a massive attack stat, movepool, and abilities to pull it off, but it's dire speed and fragility got the better of it. In Gen 5, it is outclassed by pokemon such as Haxorus for having better bulk (relatively) and speed, so Rampardos bit the dust, unfortunately. Rampardos can still pull of being a physical sweeper, but it is hard to do. Rampardos is an awesome pokemon. If you pull it to it's strengths, you better watch out. Even if Rampardos could potentially die from a STAB mud slap, it's massive attack stat of 165 is nothing to scoff off. Even if it hits you once, it'll dish out plenty of damage. This is what Rampardos is well known for... Being a battering ram. It's got a great ability too. That Bronzong got levitate? BAM! That pokemon has sturdy? Bye! Multiscale? I don't even need to go on. Mold breaker is an awesome ability, and whether you admit it or not, makes switching into Rampardos tricky. On top of that, it's got a great movepool. Stone Edge or Rock Slide give it horrifying coverage already, and Earthquake is going to hurt those steels who try to switch in or potentially attack. On top of that, Zen Headbutt allows it to hit fighting types such as Machamp who switch in or, if you're lucky, destroy it, as well as coverage on poisons (I guess). It can learn Fire and Thunder Punch, although the former is more useful considering that it hits steels and grassers pretty hard. Counters such as Ferrothorn are no longer reliable if you have Fire Punch, for instance. Although not as reliable as it is for Honchkrow, Pursuit is there as well for fleeing foes. Crunch hits psychic users hard, as well as ghosts that may be able to counter the dinosaur. You can use Brick Break to get rid of light screens and to hit dark types/steels. Some dragon types can get annoying too, so Outrage! Indeed, it's hitting power is amazing. But wait, it's frail, and it's speed is terrible for sweeper standards! Well, there's a tricky to use but effective remedy in the form of Rock Polish. Invest fully in speed, and with Adamant nature, one use will make his speed jump up to 430! Problem solved... Almost. If you want more speed to outrun scarfers, have jolly to reach 472. Rampardos also serves well in trick room, where it could use Swords Dance, although... It's Rampardos. Oh, and it's once signature move, Head Smash, is brutal if it hits, but it'll take down Rampardos too, so if you don't mind going suicidal, well, the strongest head smash user in front of you. It's got Curse, but due to that horrid special defence, well, good luck living. It has sheer force as it's dream world ability, which sounds nice at first. However, you lose out on great coverage with the elemental punches, crunch, and so on, so it's not even worth it in the long run. However, if you really want Stone Edge to hit ludicrously hard and you want Zen Headbutt to demolish everything, well, be my guest. There's still a really good reason why incredibly frail pokemon such as Weavile, Durant and Alakazam still see usage. Unlike Rampardos, these three may be ridiculously frail but at least have a type that allows resistance to others and switching opportunities, and have really high speed. Yes, Rampardos may have Rock Polish to boost it's already bad speed to Accelgor levels, but there are some detriments. On top of losing on coverage, it takes a turn to use. This is a lot harder than it sounds. Since Rampardos is so fragile even despite of it's base 97 HP, anything super effective can take it out with ease. Rampardos has a very hard time switching in thanks to it's bad defensive typing, and priority, the main killer here, will just eat up the poor dino, as it is only normally effected by ice shard and sucker punch, whereas all other forms of priority will just destroy it. As a result, name any fighting type with priority, and Rampardos won't even get to use Zen Headbutt. Also, due to it's bad defenses, most people will just try to take it out before it can attack twice. Bulky waters such as Alomomola and Slowbro provide excellent checks, but should watch out for a random thunder punch and Crunch. As said earlier, priority users shy Rampardos away easily. Keep in mind that if Rampardos doesn't take out it's target,it's very, very likely it'll get taken down the same turn. However, Rampardos is the second strongest pokemon in the game legitimately, it's ability is amazing, it has a versatile movepool, and it's type is amazing offensively. If you want a specialized power house, well, Rampardos may want to be your battering ram. Notable Moves: Head Smash, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Crunch, Pursuit, Zen Headbutt, Outrage, Rock Polish, Swords Dance, Super Power, Brick Break, Endeavor Useful Items: Life Orb, Focus Sash, Choice Band, Choice Scarf, Lum Berry Counters: Slowbro, Alomomola, Skarmory, Heracross, Hitmontop, Conkeldurr, Torterra, Lucario, Infernape, Scizor, Metagross, Blastoise

That's a shame. Then again, that's how it typically goes. Usually those who just have a bad temper or whatever the case may be are usually ignored despite their seemingly good intentions. And are you referring to WWII, WWI or a different time period altogether about the fall of the Russian Empire? Nevertheless, it's sort of like backstabbing or whatever... They'll help us here but if they go down oh well... Another probable thing that America did that perhaps they shouldn't have according to my history teacher is during WWII they didn't actively participate until much later, but they "secretly" traded with us for goods and stuff, when in reality that would mean they were participating in the war, since you're trading and supporting a country in war. Thus, they made excuses saying, "oh, Britain, we must've left those there, sorry", and Britain says, "we'll just take it" sort of thing... At least the idea.

If you're not busy, want to go on PO later on and discuss some of this?

Don't you just love the media? It tells us how we should view EVERYTHING. I don't know much about Wilheim so I cannot make a very good opinion on it, unfortunately. Regardless, everyone just loves to say that all Germans were on board with the Nazi ideals and whatever, but that's far from the truth. Yes, they may have promoted Hitler, elected him and so on, but that is because he was not only a great speaker but because he got them out of the depression easily, restored Pride, etc. But if people actually dug deep into what the people were like in those times it would be much different than from what all those A holes think. And that sucks...

I watched a film called "the fall of Rome" in class and it spoke about, well, what might've killed Rome. When I learned that America is modeled after Rome, which was once an economic superpower, and now they are having some problems, I just see it as the same. It wasn't just the Americans that influenced the treaty. Pretty much every country did, Britain, France, others I forget, but Canada then didn't really have much a voice which I'm sure you know already. But, being the person to be interested in many things German and have some German heritage, I just can't believe people go with those stereotypes and all that stuff... It's bad with other people, and now it's even spread to "gingers". <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> That's a different topic though.

America is just repeating what Rome did... And I realize that the same problems with Rome are occurring there. As my sister stated in our chat, "if you're at your peak and top of what seems to be perfection, the only way to go now is down", and unfortunately that's where most economic super powers go. >.<

Well here I go again. Anyway, I know Stalin was (insert word here) and I surely would side with America, but I'm merely stating that in Canada (or more so America) they are over glorified for their efforts. Countries like Canada? Pffffft what's dat? (although we're more known for our involvement in WWI). In the cold war which I'm well aware of, I'd side with America.

I'm well aware that Germany was treated roughly before WWII. In fact, of course you already know but WWI was actually where the American resent would originate from. The treaty of Versailles also sort of signifies it. But I just hate that if a country is doing wrong, it is more like the politicians or head's decision, not the people themselves. It was like that in WWII. Yet, due to the ridiculous media influence, every German is apparently a Nazi. >.<

Yeah. It's just that in the media it is so exaggerated what Americans did. Not really that I have anything against the fact that they went into the camps and all, but they only repeated what Hitler and the SS caused in the same way with the bombs. Ugh. I remember waking up one morning and reading in the newspaper that North America shouldn't be praised for ending the war... It should be Russia. Instead, we say America did, due to media influence. Not only that, but we see Germany as Nazis. I swear, if you were here, any reference to Germans whether it's indirect relationships or not, someone would very likely raise an insult. I remember my dad telling me a story when he was on the bus in the past. Two German women were conversing in English, then later in German. One idiot took notice of that and said "Germany, all hail the supreme race!" And they spoke no more. If you didn't know, I have a German background, so that's a bit... Insulting... And Immature.

Indeed. Here's how it started. First we (my brother and I) spoke about the messes in the kitchen. Simple. Then my sister joins in. We talk about it and form opinions about the messes and all. Then I tell her I read more about the book I'm reading, and she was glad. (My sister and I enjoy reading more than anybody else probably here) and we talk about the contents of my book. Then, somehow we go from messes in the kitchen to school stuff, artistic stuff, and all then to WWII, then the bias of the war and the media, then we talk about bias in the media in general, then the corruption of the economy and how celebrities are paid too much money and that it just sucks. <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure.png" alt=":/" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/unsure@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" /> A rough idea.

considering what I've been taught in Grade 10 History, everybody just claims stuff like "america saved everyone" when in reality it was the Russians who ultimately defeated Germany. >.< We went on for two hours. It makes me sick... Governments in a democracy should be "for the people, by the people" to a degree. Maybe not always by the people, but definitely for them. Because Governments do whatever they think is important, but it isn't, so therefore, don't do it. But of course, I'm only one person, it doesn't matter as a result. It's very annoying. Leaders are nothing nowadays... It's not a democracy if the leaders can do whatever they want. WHERE ARE THE EPHORS WHEN YOU NEED THEM?!

Separation has it's perks and stuff... It can lead to peace if the two parties agree not to killing one another or whatever, but it isn't always a good solution to a problem. Not all problems can be completely solved, but some problems can be dealt with as opposed to avoiding it altogether. And that's what separation and a lot of Governments tend to do. Ugh.

Yes... Not three hours, but two... Not busy. Pogeymanz onwinze?

Sorry for the late reply; got busy.

Yes, isn't that what all leaders should strive to be? Regardless, however, if the people ask for it either in vast majorities or in small quantities, they should do whatever they can to aid the people, the country. Instead, they decide to do trivial things like copyright, teacher related stuff (in Canada) or whatever doesn't affect everybody. It's ridiculous! What a great leader you are, enjoying the money you make and ignoring what is important... That, or you just aren't the leader you say you are then?

Separation, as I hinted at earlier, is sort of why the world is so different. Yes, not everyone can get along and there will always, always be some form of hostility, but the people who once were together should be one, instead of... Well, what is going on right now.

Thing is, since it's a democracy, the citizens should have the right to see what they think of the bill and possibly strike it down. After all, if it's copyright related, as long as the citizens are not making profit off of it or whatnot, it shouldn't be a problem. But no, America wants to control things as opposed to fixing their imminent recession. Seriously. It drives me absolutely crazy. Why would you and your dirty corporates be worrying about copyright infringement when it was never an issue in the past and now, when your financial situation is getting worse and worse, introduce a bill that has no real significance other than just to destroy the internet? Idiots...

Everything HAS to be owned... No one can just give credit where it's due anymore... Ugh.

Aaah! My ears! (watches second link). That's better! Wouldn't reuniting north/south Korea help a lot? I mean, it sounds obvious it would, but... eh. Separation is what kind of destroys us as humans.

Eh... Some other time. Perhaps you can send me the link later on... And, to be brief I suppose and also random, America might be introducing this "bill" of theirs that prohibits things on the internet without proper copyright claims. As a result, things like Youtube, fan sites, etc, could easily fall down. I don't know all the details and I may be wrong on some things, but for some reason they're introducing something stupid instead of worrying about their financial situation. >.<

Indeed. I meant that Hitmonlee's base 50/53 defences would be utter... suck, considering that back then he would die in a hit probably. And... aside from Hyper beam, I did not expect normal types to be amongst the strongest types. Now they are only chosen (or primarily) due to lack of weaknesses and versatility with their movepools, but they aren't too great offensively. Thank GSC for rebalancing! <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin.png" alt=":D" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah, but I'll probably stop there, so that once you do get the time to update it, you won't have such a workload. Also, I won't be doing a lot of gen 5... Erm yeah. Leave it at that.
