  1. It was actually quite funny: I was in the old mansion in Pearl really late at night, to the point where I was getting REALLY tired. I was talking to my brother and said "Gengar's my favorite pokemon, you know how sick it would be if I got a shiny gastly right now?" I then got a battle, and behold. And no, I'm not making this up...the timing was PERFECT Other than that, I've gotten events, red gyarados, and RNGd one Only one legit shiny :'(

Hi there! My names....well....you can call me what everyone calls me >_< which is my username. Don't worry about how I got that nickname. Feel free to call me by any other nickname, including AIDS, Gnome, or, one of my personal favorites, Wacker.(which is the closest to my actual name) Feel free to guess what my actual name is, it'll be a challenge I use emoticons a lot, so get used to it, specially I'm a n00b when it comes to pokegen/pokesav stuff. I know HOW to work it, but I don't know HOW it works. I don't understand all that programing and hex stuff. Although I do have some programming knowledge :] I'm computer literate I like asking a lot of questions just out of curiosity, and I like to know how things work. I understand Pokemon mechanics fairly well, but I suck at battling competativly. I haven't done so in a very long time. When D/P was released, I used to battle on a forum called Wifi League, if anyone has heard of it Computers are my best friends, biology is my one true love, and psychology is my mistress Anyways, you seem like cool people for the most part, so I hope to stick around PS. if you can't already tell, I hate writing in long paragraphs; I don't want people reading walls of text. But then my posts just seem like double spaced walls of text '
  3. Really quick question, I searched around for this and picked up a few of the pieces, and just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight, instead of bumping a dead topic. So I usually make "hacked" pokemon with pokegen/pokesav and then breed them. I put hacked in quotes because they're not exactly hacks, they pass the legality check. What I'm concerned about is Nintendo picking up on these pokemon at tournaments. I don't actually do the breeding on my cart. I breed the pokemon on a flashcart backup of my game, hatch the egg (I usually don't IV hack the pokemon I actually battle with), pick the best one out of the batch, then in Pokegen/sav, I edit the EVs and movesets. And then I transfer them over to my actual game cart. The movesets and EVs, of course, are legal. So my question is: is it possible to pick up on these pokemon that I "ev trained" using Pokesav/gen and whose parents were generated using such methods? I know many people are gonna say "If you're worried, don't hack" I'm actually not planning on going to a tournament ever But I'd just like to know out of curiosity.
  4. Ohh thank you! :] I actually needed a finish game to play around with a bit =] As for Unfezant looking weird, I'd have to say that's an understatement I would love this game to death if the pokemon didn't look nasty in general. I think they should just completely redesign the ugly pokemon's sprites from scratch, and we can pretend the current sprites for Unfezant, Gurdurr, Crustle, Siglyph, and the others, never existed :] Bidoof is more attractive '-.- But yeah, this game is definitely worth it for the storyline
  5. I can pretty much agree with what's already been said here already. Storyline: Absolutely great. Probably one of the most memorable one out of all the Pokemon games. Characters: I'll have to disagree here when I say I think both of the main characters look pretty cool. Simple, but cool. Yes, Cheren was dull, but I think it played out well, and was meant to be like that. And N has to be the coolest antagonist in the entire franchise. Beats Gary any day, and is more active in the storyline than the other rivals. As for the gym leaders, I love how they're more involved in the story. It just makes the game feel more anime-like. Gyms: As I said, the gym leaders were a bit more dynamic, but as stated by others, the choice of Pokemon was just... I also enjoyed how all the gyms looked different, as opposed to the same bland building in all the previous games. Pokemon: This made me very skeptical of the game before it was even released. Yes, some of them grew on me. Samurott looked repulsive before, but he's turned into my favorite water starter. As for about 70% of the pokemon, I really don't understand how they let this happen. Seriously, wtf is this? But more importantly, what ARE these?: Really? You tried making a new Machoke....with a clown nose? I thought Emobird looked bad, but he grew on me. Gaibird has yet to do so. > Excuse me, but even the useless Pokemon of the first gen are more attractive than these. Hell, a DUNSPARCE is more attractive. I was also disappointed by the fact that the fire starter was once again, a Fire/Fighting type. But I'll get over it. What I won't get over, however, are the terrible stats on some of the Pokemon. I don't play a lot of metagame, but I can see a lot of Trick Room users in the near future. Don't get me wrong though, this game had some VERY amazing Pokemon: Reshiram/Zekrom, Briavary, Zoroark (even with its frail defenses), Victini, ect. Scenery: This. This is what compensates for the terrible Pokemon in this game. Absolutely stunning. Even the small things, such as the highway in the desert with cars passing, and let's not forget the wonderful cities, make this game worth while. Overall, I agree that this game is good. There was a lot of potential here, and there's plenty of room to fix the things that are bothering most of us (besides the Pokemon, of course. The damage has been done) So now on to more important things: can we get a Patrat emoticon? :bidoof:
  6. /facepalm ...yeah... targeting the correct game was my problem, it was set to B/W while I was trying to get it for D/P >.< Thanks so much for your help! Ah, I had never noticed Pokegen's PID finder before, but yes, that makes it a lot easier. Thank you for that :] I was wanting to get an AR code for events so I could get 5 of the events at a time, then check the IVs before soft resetting (I'm not sure if there's even a code out to check that yet without having to use pokesav/pokegen). It would be much faster than soft resetting every time after checking IVs on pokesav/pokegen. But again, thanks for your help. So how does one go about making AR codes? (Besides the obvious, which is pokesav) I'm assuming it involves searching for a certain changing value then somehow being able to freeze it? I just tested this out on DeSmuME, I was able to narrow down my results to 1 value for pokeballs after buying one and repeating the process until I had only a single value and was able to change/freeze it But I have no idea how to make it into an AR code. Doing this for rebattling legendaries and events seems long and tedious If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated :]
  7. Hi :] So you'll probably realize really quickly that I have no idea what I'm talking about. I searched around for a bit, and am still a bit confused, so please, bare with me. (I'm also computer literate, but if you start talking about hex values and binary, I'll probably get lost) So I was wondering if the legality checker is always correct with non event Pokemon. It just says Common NDS (A-B-C-D). Should I be good if it says that? Is there any way to tell that it is a hack, even when the legality checker says otherwise? I think I've come to the understanding that only Algorithm 1 and 2 are legal when you're making a Pokemon with Pokesav (correct me if I'm wrong). Is there a way to come up with a legal ID without changing the nature/IVs by hand? It takes a while for me to do that every time and get a legal PID. I never touch the hex values. Like I said. i don't know anything about Hex (if you feel like explaining, I'll be more than happy to listen, if not, no worries) But will the pokemon still be legit if I leave it? Note that I don't actually generate pokemon, all I do is edit the nature, IVs, EVs, ect, and make sure the legal checker says it's legit. Also, I'm confused as to why no matter what file type I try saving a pokemon as using Pokegen, the resulting file always shows up as hacked or invalid with Legal.exe The same pokemon is legal when saved with Pokesav. And finally, I know this question doesn't belong here, but I was wondering if there's a pokesav for black/white in english that supports mystery gifts. I found one after a lot of googling, but when I export the AR code, it only allows to export a code for mystery events and not specific gifts, and then it doesn't work. (Others I found had trojans, even though they looked legit maybe it's just my antivirus..) Thanks for reading :] help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry for providing you with such a dull read. (if anyone read it, that is)
