ThosePassword43 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I’m trying to find a reliable way to extract save files from my physical 3DS cartridges to my PC, edit them using PKHeX, and then re-inject them back onto the original cartridges. I currently own the following hardware: - R4i Save Dongle - Cyber Gadget Save Editor (Japanese) - Action Replay PowerSaves for 3DS From what I’ve gathered, older forum posts (mostly 10+ years old) suggest that these tools either don’t support 3DS save dumping or are limited to encrypted saves that can’t be used with PKHeX. However, I’m wondering if there have been any updates, workarounds, or community tools that now allow any of these devices to: 1. Dump decrypted 3DS save files compatible with PKHeX 2. Re-inject edited saves back into the original cartridge Thanks in advance for any help or updated info!
Kaphotics Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago None of the above. Install custom firmware, then dump your save files with homebrew apps like JKSV or Checkpoint.
ThosePassword43 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago If that is the case, is there a way to transfer the save files to the computer without having to eject the memory card from the 3DS to the computer? Either wirelessly or with a cable?
ICanSnake Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago You can use FTPD on the 3DS to connect to something like Filezilla or File Explorer on the computer through the IP address provided on the 3DS. You'll need to make sure both devices are connected to the same network. This allows you to tranfser wirelessly without needing to take out the SD card every time. I do this myself but I wish I knew this around the time of the gen 7 years, would have saved me a lot of time taking out the SD card.
