Cannoli
hi! im new to this whole thing so please bare with me. i downloaded a sun save and edited it a bit and put it on my cfw 2ds. i start up my copy of sun and it boots up fine. then i press start then my save in game and it crashes, showing the "an exception occurred" screen. this has happened everytime i've tried using a custom save from pkhex regardless of game. i have no idea where to begin to fix this, pls help i should note im using a physical copy of sun. using edited saves on digital copies of games also gives the same crash/ error Edited February 17, 2020 by Cannoli

If so, can you upload the main file to here?

theSLAYER
I’m confused, your save works for me. Here’s a few things you can do: 1. Make sure your JKSM/JKSV is updated 2. Make sure your CFW on your 3DS is updated (preferably use luma) 3. Keep a safe copy of the JKSV folder on your Desktop, but don't have it on your SD. (Allow JKSM to start the folder backups anew) 4. Create a copy of such a folder, when wanting to do imports. Test it and let me know.

That’s so odd, I did all that you suggested and I’m still getting the same situation from before. Do you think it’s because I’m running 1.0 of Sun? I could also try checkpoint and see if that method changes anything

Tho that wouldn’t thoroughly explain why you can’t use injected saves but able to use native saves. try another homebrew, use checkpoint instead. If there’s still issues, then you probably need to raise an issue at luma’s GitHub. also make sure your SD card isn’t write-locked.

theSLAYER
To be clear, at which stage does your 2DS crash? At booting up the game with the new save, or at using the save manager to restore the save?
Cannoli
I can load up the game and I can also get past the start screen. The game crashes when I select the save. I hear maybe a second of the music of the route I'm on and then it gives me the crash report screen

If so, deactivate all of them and delete the plugins. Try disabling 'Game patching' in CFW Settings. If none of that work, you should try with another SD card as clean as possible. It looks like something is wrong with the settings. Edited March 20, 2020 by XxPhoenix1996xX
