DeadSkullzJr Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 (edited) Hello everyone, been a while since I posted cheat codes here, however I am back with something that I feel should have existed years ago but unfortunately never saw the light of day. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl introduced a method that allows you to transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and LeafGreen. This method was called Pokemon migration, and how this method worked was pretty straight forward, you simply would stick one of the five generation three titles in slot-2 of the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite, in doing so Pokemon Diamond and Pearl would have the ability to migrate Pokemon stored in the PC boxes of your generation three game cart, allowing you to move your previous team over to the new generation. However there was a really bad drawback to the process that made it time consuming to use, the drawback was you had to wait a full 24 hours before you could migrate more Pokemon again (after migrating six Pokemon), there has been a way around it in the past, however that loophole still required some time to do. For years it annoyed me a little bit because I didn't like having to wait a full day to migrate more Pokemon. So last night I decided to sit on the idea a bit and see if maybe I could find something about this limitation in the game with my current knowledge and see if I could put something together to either stop or bypass the limitation. The task wasn't easy since most of the data in memory is dynamic rather than static, however I got what I was looking for and I can officially say, you no longer need to wait 24 hours to migrate Pokemon anymore in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Before someone mentions HeartGold and SoulSilver, the limitation was removed for those titles so I didn't have to make anything for HeartGold or SoulSilver, I will say however that the data for said limitation still exists in the code, and it actually works, however it doesn't function completely to stop the player from migrating multiple times. So without further ado, I present to you, a cure to a bad drawback for the generation four series! Note: I will not guarantee this list to be finalized as I may improve the codes more to prevent any sort of issues these codes may bring to their respected games. I prefer being thorough about making codes so I can ensure only the best for everyone and not some silly joke(s). Horsegirl1800 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 when do you press select it is not clear
Smile Posted March 18, 2021 Posted March 18, 2021 Hi Does it apply to the emulator? The platinum version (U/J) was tested to no effect. Maybe I don't know how to use it.
YellowJekyll Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Hi, this doesn’t seem to be working for me, and man would I like it to because of the amount of work put into the codes. I am unsure of where to press select, I’ve tried it at every chance possible, tried holding it, tried pressing it with start, tried pressing R and L instead, and can’t seem to bypass the 24 hour limit. I have triple checked to make sure I wrote the code right, renamed the code to the exact name you have written, and still nothing. Is it something I’m doing wrong still?

Sorry for the late reply, for what specific version were you testing this on? I tested each of these and they appeared to be working on my end. I will test them again however just to double check. You can press Select at any given time, doesn't matter where really.
DeadSkullzJr Posted July 23, 2021 Author Posted July 23, 2021 Fixed Diamond and Pearl, my mistake on the math there, all fixed! 1
Alvarocious Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I have the US version of Platinum. I've set the code in correctly and have been pressing select with no success.
PkMn Trainer Jarso Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Is there any news or update yet about the code for Platinum (US)? It doesn't work for me also.

Zetawilk Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) I notice that people tend not to say what device they're running the game on. I've tested running my backup of Pokémon Diamond on melonDS's standalone emulator, in DeSmuME, no$GBA, and even melon DS's RetroArch core, but so far the USA revisions 0-5 code hasn't worked in any of these environments. I have revision 5 of the USA localization of Pokémon Diamond. MelonDS's standalone in particular expressly states that it uses "AR" codes. Unfortunately, I am at a loss as to what step I'm getting wrong. I've tried pressing select during the title screen, during the main menu, during gameplay, and I've even tried holding select the entire time from when the game boots up. Every time, it tells me Leaf Green can't migrate because it hasn't been 24 hours. Perhaps there's a way to modify the game itself with a patch to mimic HeartGold and SoulSilver's behavior. It should probably be noted that the game treats each of these environments as different NDS consoles, and only the standalone melonDS emulator provides the feature for loading a game into slot 2. UPDATE: I have also tried the code in TwiLightMenu++ on a 3DS. I activated the cheat, started the game, pressed Select, saved the game, then pulled that save back into melonDS, but it still won't permit migration.
