Does the max steps even go up that high?

This code is supposedly for max steps.

To activate, press select. (US game)

Yeah as I thought, that's the 9,999,999 WATTS code. I just checked. They are confused easily. I don't think there's a steps code out there yet.

Maybe step counter isn’t stored on the save?

Need to check the documentation, but if it isn’t stored in the save, and is only stored on the Pokewalker, it’ll explain why there’s no codes for it. (Either that or the save displays the step counter, but that value is read only from pokewalker, so modifying it doesn’t affect anything)

Can you check on it and tell me? I don't understand those things.

When you connect to a pokewalker, what is displayed? (Such as watts, step counter etc)

edit: Do you mind providing 2 saves with different step count, and let me know what's the step count?

For reference, I found old research that supposedly has the 2 locations for step counter. I wanted to see if it's definitely those spots.

Thanks! This reminds me, I actually made a step cheat code a while back for all the generation four series titles (even did codes for Amity Square steps for the items), I didn't release it because I wanted to save it for the database update coming up soon. Thanks for the documentation, I will surely look into this!

The thing is I don’t have a pokewalker and my saves never connected to a pokewalker. I should probably order a game and a pokewalker just for this :(

Decided to look into this on my own for the sake of challenging myself. Afterwards I took a look at the documentation and found an error with it.

First off thanks for the code. But is there a way to make it so that there is a "connected pokemon" to the pokewalker without connecting my save file to an actual pokewalker? I don't have a real pokewalker and my save file has never been connected to a pokewalker so using the code you gave us does nothing. Do you know any way around this?

There is a way yes, but the problem is the Pokémon being used. I could slap whatever Pokémon I wanted on there, however the problem is the data of the Pokémon, you see each Pokémon is unique, also consider the fact that Pokémon data is encrypted (not a problem for me though), the other thing is I’d have to make a whole list of possible Pokémon to use because such data is never the same (unless you duplicated). It’s not worth making a billion different codes just to fit the needs of a specific Pokémon you want.

Is it hard to just make a code to slap a random pokemon ripped from a save file that's connected to the pokewalker once? lol I could do any pokemon if it;s hard for you. I really don't wanna buy a Pokewalker and a real game now that I threw mine away this year T_T

Has nothing to do with difficulty (as I stated, I have zero issues with the encryption and the data at hand, come on I did it with the Cute Charm Glitch cheats I made a while back), you missed my point. I can do it, the problem is the data of the Pokémon itself, me simply adding in data like that and releasing it publicly would cause duplicates of that Pokémon to flood all over the place. I want to avoid that, what I can do is make a code custom to the Pokémon you want, but I don’t want you handing it out to others, I’d send it to DM’s. Honestly though I don’t see the purpose of wanting to go this far, it is a very odd reason when really there’s nothing you get since you don’t have a Pokewalker.

It appears Jollygator wants to use Pokewalker functionality without owning a Pokewalker.

@DeadSkullzJr do you think it’s possible to make a few codes that work that way?

just a suggestion, maybe get the game to check daycare instead of walker.

Anyhow, if it’s too tedious or not possible due to how the game checks the Pokewalker upon connection, what I can say is: we have every Pokewalker Pokémon already added to our database. Is it really necessary for this trouble? :3

Well for me personally, we have all these editors out there, we surely do have all those Pokémon in there, but the way I see it, extra options doesn’t hurt, it adds a challenge for me.

There is a problem though, Pokewalker data isn’t saved like normal game data is, therefore the data for the Pokewalker will reset each time the game is restarted, in his case, his save will still act as a clean slate as if he never used a Pokewalker, UNLESS I personally edit his save manually, which I can also do. Yes codes can make this work, but since the data can’t be saved, it would be partially pointless, that’s why manual is the way to go.

Edit:

Just did some testing, doesn’t matter with a cheat code or manual typing, the save doesn’t want to take the modifications without corrupting the save (resulting in it using your last save point), there must be some type of check between the Pokewalker device and the game where it just doesn’t allow any modifications to the that section of the save, could also be a checksum not matching up with the data at hand. Either way, I would just avoid editing the Pokewalker data altogether.

Hey, sorry for this very late reply but I tried using this code to try and get the 9,999,999 steps Starf Berry for HGSS but the game doesn't seem to recognize that I did the thing and won't give me the berry. Is there something I missing or is it not possible to cheat/cheese it?
