Gen 2 Gyarados and Mimic

Gyarados with move Mimic is marked as illegal move in gen2 games.

i do not think that gyarados can learn mimic that is why it is marked illegal

Gyarados can only learn Mimic via Move Tutor in FRLG, Emerald and XD, so of course it is illegal in Gen 1/2.

Mimic is TM in gen 1 and gyarados CAN learn it. It is even famous for creating shiny ditto in gen 1.

@Bumidek I know whats the problem:

You've got data under the "Met" tab. (example)

1. Only Pokemon originating from Crystal get information stored into in that tab (retained when traded to GS)
2. Additionally, Pokemon traded to Gen I (let's say, to learn TM moves) lose that data.

So it's not a bug. Look, at Gyarados of mine, without the data there, is legal.

One more question if I can:
Move Agility on lvl 50 legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres does not evoke illegality issue. How is that possible when they learn it at lvl 55 in gen1 and in gen2 they are uncatchable?

Agility is a level 25 move in GSC, tho without a move relearner, I wonder how they'll even get to relearn that move without hacking the levels.

Stadium 2 has a "move reminder" of sorts, so this probably an example of that.

Articuno learns Agility at level 55 in gen1 but it learn the same move at level 25 in gen 2, that and Stadium 2 move reminder make it legal. Probably in a VC save, where it is not possible to use Stadium 2 move reminder, it will be illegal

PKHeX identifies the game type by the save's extension. if it's .sav, it isn't a VC save.
