Please help save my game file?

The problem is:

After loading my rom, after walking around a certain amount my game will freeze mid frame. The music continues playing but my game is inoperable otherwise. If you get into a pokemon battle or a trainer battle the game will work properly until you finish the battle and start moving on the world map again.

What led up to the problem:

I edited the data of one of my pokemon using PokeGen. I evolved my Gurdurr into a Conkelldurr, and saved the game file. I imported the backup memory using Desmume "AUTO (from imported save data size)" and this is when the issue arises.

Things I have tried:

I tried using the backup file that PokeGen created, and the problem is unresolved.

I tried going back into PokeGen, deleting the Conkelldurr, and the problem is unresolved.

I tried completely remaking my save file in Pokesav, and importing the new file and the problem is unresolved.

I tried loading the .sav from the other import options Desmume offered, and the problem is unresolved.

I tried redownloading the ROM and the problem is unresolved.

I have no clue what is causing the issue, and would appreciate any insight you might have. Thanks so much for your time.

Here is a link to my .sav so you can see the problem first hand.

I tried it on my copy and can reproduce it, although I have no idea what's causing that.

Are you sure that the backup Pokegen created is the same as what you had before you did any editing? If you have access to the very original, try that.

Because you're having trouble with the backup, that indicates that either you saved multiple times and it overwrote the very original, or the problem is outside of Pokegen.

save game -> export backup memory (.sav)

edit sav in pokegen -> save new save file

desmume Import Backup Memory -> reset emulation

I'm not sure if you're editing save states or whatever but save files do not cause freezing.

Already tried this. Retried and it didn't work. The .sav did not create the freezing, but the .sav is most certainly freezing.

I'm not 100% that the backup is the original, and unfortunately I did not create my own backup. The problem is not in pokegen, I'm guessing the .sav has some sort of corruption. Creating an entirely new .sav off of Pokesav still produces the same error.

EDIT: Was able to open a save file off of the .sav where I had deleted the Conkeldurr, and miraculously was able to save this instance of the game save (but only if I immediately left the area. If I walked into a trainer or started a random encounter the save would still crash. After leaving the area, I could reenter the desert area and play normally. The only exception was a ????????? pokemon where Conkel previously was. I saved the state immediately after leaving the area, and decided to play around with this mystery pokemon. I could swap it's position in the party as well as giving it items. In a Pokemon battle in the switch Pokemon interface, I could hover over it's frame in slot 5 but was not able to interact or choose it. Swapping it into the front of the party and initiating an encounter crashed the game. The pokemon could not be deposited into storage, even if it was holding an item.).

To fix the problem, I edited the ?????? pokemon out with pokesav and replaced it with my original Conkeldurr, down to the stat. I'm sure PokeGen would have accomplished the job just as well. I am incredibly relieved to have my eight and a half hour save file back in playable condition. Thanks for your replies and your time.
