oonis
Hi, sorry, I'm not sure if this is relevant or not for this forum, but I was wondering if there was a way to read in a ROM and then get the map data from it (possibly other information as well). Some kind of source code would be ideal.
Kaphotics
Data is stored in narcs and overlays, there's a program out there called SDSME that can display the map data / movement permissions / whatever for you. http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=288625 for b2w2, the maps are stored in /a/0/0/8 - Maps

Is there a way to extend SDSME to game boy color games?
evandixon
How exactly does that work? Is there a way to extend SDSME to game boy color games? Probably not. That's quite the generational gap, so I wouldn't think the structures are similar at all.

evandixon
If you programmed an extension It would be easier to make a new program depending on the data structure.
