edes Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 So, I decided to play red, and after exploiting some the missingno. item glitch, I decided to go and battle the rival at route 22 (I think it was, its the route right next to Viridian) Anyway, I tried fighting, and then he takes out a charizard 'm, I killed it, after that he takes out a normal 'm, I killed it, then the game froze, anyone help me here? I don't want to lose my save file. P.S. I did catch a Pokémon with a level over 100 using the glitch...

Exploiting the Missingno glitch CAN do some strange stuff to your game. I'd be careful if I were you... tampering with a Glitch-mon is a big NO NO (but that's what made RB fun )
edes Posted May 20, 2009 Author Posted May 20, 2009 I there a way I can make the game go back to normal? like opening the sav in a hex editor to fix it.
wraith89 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I don't think there is a way. There's something called NEW GAME I guess. Yeah, Missingno messed up my Hall of Fame by putting a "Bird/Normal" thing with a higher pitched Zapdos cry without a sprite... but I didn't bother restarting. I really didn't care.
edes Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Oh well, time to get the gameshark codes to walk through the walls to skip the battle. Thank You!
AtomicGreymon Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I don't want to lose my save file. It really would be better to start a new save, as opposed to going out of your way to preserve a glitched one. If you have a gameshark, why did you bother using the missingno glitch when you could just use the gameshark to buy any items you wanted in a pokemart.

Its an emulator, I share the save between my computer and my cellphone. My cellphone doesn't support GS codes.
FLOOTENKERP Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I used the missingno. item glitch on my game with no problems. Well as long as it doesn't delete your save file, I suggest you avoid anything that can. But if you want a normal game, then you should delete your save file.
Varna Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Every single time I see this topic on the most recent topics list, I think it says "rival battle... WHAT IS A MAN?".
